Abstract:
Functional activation for language processing in left hemisphere language regions has been shown to be correlated with intelligibility of the speech signal, with more intelligible stimuli yielding greater activation. We created stimuli in which intelligibility was reduced in two distinct ways. First, we created lexically degraded stimuli in which lexical items were spectrally rotated. Second, we created grammatically degraded stimuli in which function words and morphemes were spectrally rotated and scrambled in order. We hypothesized that contrasting these conditions would reveal brain areas d

Bouton (1997) proposed a model to explain Pavlovian conditioning according to which the order of the associations (first-learned or second-learned), not the valence of the associations (inhibitory or excitatory), determines context sensitivity in AAB and ABC renewal designs. As a consequence, Bouton’s model does not predict important differences in context sensitivity between AAB and ABC designs. However, evidence suggests that there are indeed differences in context sensitivity between these two designs (e.g. Üngör & Lachnit, 2008). A ubiquitous feature of neural responses is their dependence on stimulus context. One prominent contextual effect is the reduction in neural response size with stimulus repetition, known as “adaptation”. However, work on the visual system has suggested that stimulus-specific adaptation may not only reflect stimulus representations, but may itself also

Abstract:
Extant research within competitive dynamics recognizes a positive relationship between high levels of competitive activity and firm performance, but the cognitive and psychological antecedents to competitive activity are far less clearly understood. I explore the role of a specific psychological antecedent - status, in impacting firms’ motivations to launch competitive moves against rivals. The key question, which extant literature does not seem fully equipped to answer, is when and under exactly what circumstances lower-status firms become motivated to launch action against higher-status ones

Abstract:

Abstract:
The purpose of this study is to explore online consumers' experiential response towards visual user-generated content in online shopping environments for fashion online shopping. The Stimulus-Organism-Response (S-O-R) framework has been widely used in online shopping environment studies to examine the effect of website attributes on online shoppers' internal affective and cognitive states, and shopping behaviour (Kawaf and Tagg, 2012). Recent literature in the field proposes a more holistic approach towards online experiences (e.g., Pentina, Amialchuk, and Taylor, 2011) which is conceptualise
