Abstract:
Abstract The cost effectiveness of USDA Forest Service end result contracts (ERCs), also known as "stewardship" contracts, was compared with similar information from conventional service contracts. Bid data from 18 ERCs were examined, and Forest Service costs were compared with service contracts and timber sale contracts on the Umpqua and Winema National Forests in Oregon. We found generally that ERCs are still in an initial stage of development, but at this point costs of ERCs compared well with service contracts. The results of this study indicate that where regeneration is typically successful, ERCs can be used to address a variety of forest management objectives. ERCs are a management tool that deserves further experimentation and analysis. West. J. Appl. For. 5(4):00-00, October 1990.

Abstract:
The house-building business in the Central Kertagena Village is one of the businesses that are of concern to the community by using a timing system with "Ijarah" payments. The homeowner gives a verbal description to the builder then gives according to the specified promise. Parties in association do not know about contracts Many conflicts occur due to rules that must be followed by both parties not working properly. And also the compilation of goods has been completed does not match the owner and the builder did not want to admit his mistakes. Based on this, there are two that are the focus of this study, first: How is the application of the ijarah contract to the performance of builders in the village of Central Kertagena? The results showed that in the implementation of the contract at the beginning of the agreement only based on verbal and not published in accordance with the problem at the end after the completion of the contract. Then at 07:00 WIB - 04:00 WIB. However, it is satisfied to repair the building that was built over that time and stopped before the traffic jams, as well as to repair the house and cost more. In addition, the lack of clarity in the good model of the house model of the homeowner ordered the desired goods only by word alone and the builder requires no need to be correct so that more causes problems. When the goods are finished it is not suitable for the owner and the builder does not want to admit his mistakes.

Abstract:
French judges use the concept of " économie du contrat " in two cases. First of all, the notion is useful to read the contract. Indeed, it's a reference to determine the contract law, i. E. The obligations it sets out but also the rules which apply to it. Between objectivism and subjectivism, the reference to the " economie du contrat " rationalizes the parties will. Their true intention is replaced with a normal intention so the " économie du contrat " is a contractual paragon. It's also used to make an economic assessment of the contract. Indeed, it allows to up hold useful contracts and to remove or adapt the others. It means it's necessary to define what a useful contract is. So, judges have to estimate if the purpose of the contractual operation can be reached. The " economie du contrat " is then a contractual standard

Abstract:
Contract-based design is an expressive paradigm for a modular and compositional specification of programs. In this thesis, we elaborate new foundations for contract-based embedded system design by proposing a general-purpose algebra of assume/guarantee contracts based on two simple concepts: first, the assumption or guarantee of a component is defined as a filter and, second, filters enjoy the structure of a Boolean algebra. This yields a structure of contracts that is a Heyting algebra. In this framework, contracts are used to negotiate the correctness of assumptions made on the definition of a component at the point where it is used and provides guarantees to its environment. We put this algebra to work for the definition of a general purpose module system whose typing paradigm is based on the notion of contract. We illustrate this presentation with the specification of a simplified 4-stroke engine model

Abstract:
The human eye is the most critical part that can be adversely affected by diabetes in the near or long run. The detection of DR (Diabetic Retinopathy) in the early stages is not that easily possible. The detection of DR primarily depends on the quality of the retinal images of the diseased person. The higher is the quality of the retinal image, the more are the chances of detection of abnormalities. The research paper elaborates on the popular CLAHE (Contrast Limited Adaptive Histogram Equalization) technique been used for enhancing the contrast of the retinal images. The research paper also anticipates a technique intended for enhancing the quality of the retinal images. The retinal images are obtained from the DRIVE (Digital Retinal Images for Vessel Extraction) dataset. The quality of enhancement achieved by using both techniques is compared and measured using three performance metrics of MSE (Mean Square Error), PSNR (Peak Signal Noise Ratio), and RMSE (Root Mean Square Error). PSNR is considered as the prominent performance metric to decide the degree of enhancement achieved. Greater is the value of the PSNR, higher is the degree of enhancement. The comparative analyses between the PSNR values obtained from both the techniques have been conducted and it has been found that the proposed technique outperforms CLAHE in enhancing the retinal images.

Abstract:
This paper introduces the Ant Path Following System in its entirety. It is continuously in need of a machine or software that can stand on its own and fulfill its duties in our everyday lives. Long-distance driving makes us fatigued, and wish our legs were a bit more relaxed instead of constantly pressing the pedal and our hands rested instead ofcontinuing to manage the steering wheel. It is not necessary to push the trolley to a factory, supermarket, or infant vehicle. Based on the image processing concept, the line tracker can address all of these and many more difficulties. In this study, it attempted to build an active line follower robot that employs the line tracking concept. It differs from standard line followers in that it employs photodiode sensors, allowing it to predict the future. (e.g., the upcoming line pattern), and is ready to direct that pattern. The robot can also follow any color line that contrasts with the surface.

Abstract:
In January 2007, the NRC issued Revision 1 to Regulatory Guide (RG) 1.200 endorsing Addendum B of the ASME PRA Standard, RA-Sb-2005. Effective January 1, 2008, the probabilistic risk assessment (PRA) supporting any risk-informed application must comply with the requirements of RG 1.200 and the ASME PRA Standard, as explained in NRC’s Regulatory Issue Summary (RIS) 2007-06. Per Section 6 of the ASME PRA Standard, a peer review must be performed to demonstrate compliance with the ASME PRA Standard. In the late 1990s, all nuclear plants in the U. S. had a peer review performed in accordance with NEI 00-02. However, the ASME PRA Standard requirements are more extensive than the review elements in NEI 00-02. Appendix D of NEI 00-02, endorsed by Appendix B of RG 1.200, includes a self-assessment process for using the NEI 00-02 results to, in part; assess a PRA’s compliance with the ASME PRA Standard. The ASME PRA Standard requires a peer review for any PRA element that has been upgraded since the original peer review. There is also the consideration that if the PRA updates have resulted in enough changes to the model that the current model no longer is adequately represented by the model that was originally peer reviewed, then, at their discretion, the utility may request a new peer review. Both the Boiling Water Reactor Owners Group (BWROG) and the Pressurized Water Reactor Owners Group (PWROG) have authorized projects to conduct the peer reviews against RG 1.200, Revision 1 to support risk-informed applications after January, 2008. Two key elements have changed since the original NEI 00-02 peer reviews. These are: (1) the number of specific requirements that need to be reviewed and (2) the need for the utility undergoing a peer review to complete a self-assessment and a roadmap to the documentation supporting their assessment to enable the peer review team to complete their review within a reasonable timeframe. Since the original approval of the ASME PRA Standard in 2003, many plants have performed self-assessments either internally or with the assistance of contractors to ascertain their compliance with the ASME PRA Standard. A number of lessons have been learned as a result of these self-assessments that should be carried forward to the next round of formal peer reviews against Addendum B of the ASME PRA, RA-Sb-2005. This paper examines some of the lessons learned while performing these self-assessments, and provides some guidance for a pre-review self-assessment and as well as some guidelines on compiling a roadmap to support the self-assessment and the peer review.

Abstract:
A new technology method is adapted to manufacture carbon fiber lattice sandwich beam with pyramidal truss core. The flat crush test experiment is to test the resistance to compression of the carbon fiber sandwich plate with pyramidal truss core. The result shows that after the pressure head contact the specimens adequately, and the stiffness of structure is the maximum. If the load is continuing increase, the pyramidal truss core may be destroyed, and both sides of the carbon fiber panel begin tottering. It emerges permanent deformation on the structures after an uninstall. The three-point bending test of lattice sandwich beam referred to ASTM C393-00 is designed to research the mechanical properties of face sheet and pyramidal truss core of lattice sandwich beam with theoretical analysis. Load-deflection curves of the middle of lattice sandwich beam in long span and in short span tests are retained, which are applied to obtain flexure stiffness of face sheet and shear strength of pyramidal truss core. It is found that span length has some influence on damage modes of lattice sandwich beam with pyramidal truss core. Debonding between face sheet and lattice core occurs when span is larger and core collapse appears when span is smaller. Crack expansion and fracture of resin base also both emerge in these two damage modes and the crack expansion consists of two different types which are crack expansion inside the resin base and crack expansion from the indenter to the support. Contrast with other lattice sandwich beam with similar or different shapes of core in the other references, the mechanical properties of this lattice sandwich beam by this new fabrication have obvious advantage at the same relative density.

Abstract:
Recently, the fibrinolytic system was shown to be dependent on complex interactions of several proteins for which specific test systems have been developed. We report on the results in placebo groups of two drug trials which strongly suggest an endogenous circadian rhythm of these parameters. In the first trial, 6 male subjects consecutively received either different heparins or placebo (group A). In a double blind placebo controlled trial, 10 male subjects received either DDAVP or placebo (group B). Blood was obtained before (7:30 a.m.), and 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 9, 12 h and, only in group A, 15 and 24 h after the injection (8:00 a.m.). Euglobulin precipitate (EP) was prepared immediately after centrifugation. Fibrinolytic activity (FA) and t-PA activity were measured according to Astrup and Miillertz (1952) and Verheijen et al.(l982), respectively. t-PA antigen was measured using a kit from Biopool, Umea. t-PA-inhibitor (INH) was determined using a commercial kit from Kabivitrum and the method described by Chmielewska et al.(l983). Statistical analysis was performed using ANOVA (t-PA antigen) and Kruskal-Wal1is test. Results: In group A, t-PA antigen was significantly higher in the morning than in the evening. In contrast, t-PA activity and FA were low in the morning and gradually increased and reached maxima at 8 p.m. and 11 p.m., respectively. In group B, the same pattern was observed and all diurnal variations were statistically significant. Higher levels of t-PA-INH and t-PA-antigen were observed in the morning, and lower levels of t-PA and fibrinolytic activity. A reversed pattern was seen in the evening ( 8 p.m.). The two different methods for t-PA measurements showed the same variation^ although a c.lO-fold higher level was determined using the Kabivitrum test kit.

Abstract:
The scope of protecting public venues in the U.S. is staggering in the areas of money, time and experience at doing this sort of thing. Derivation of protection strategies for the building infrastructure will necessarily involve a combination of experiments and computer simulations to provide confidence in building design or retrofit before the needed dollars and time are committed. Computer simulation can be less costly and be performed in shorter times than experiments even when the building of interest is quite large and thus, will be used extensively now and in the future for building protection design. This paper specifically targets the accuracy and application of computational fluid dynamic (CFD) codes for prediction of mixing behavior. The ability to determine the nature, make correct identification and quantify the amount of a release from a chemical or biological weapon (CBW) relies in part on understanding the underlying physics of air propagation throughout the domain. Specifically, we must understand the rates at which a contaminant may mix throughout the domain. Turbulent mixing is a function of the range of spatial and temporal scales found in the domain, i.e., the large scale eddies (on the size of the domain) advecting the contaminant, the small scale eddies (inertial range) “mixing” the contaminant as it is being advected and the time scales corresponding to these eddy sizes. The widely used Reynolds Averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) numerical modeling methods cannot capture the time dependent motions which are responsible for a significant amount of mixing. The Large Eddy Simulation (LES) method is based on simulating the turbulent fluctuations that can be resolved by the mesh while the smaller eddies are modeled. The LES method can produce more information about the nature of the flow field than RANS. This paper discusses the application of the LES method, specifically an LES/DES (Detached Eddy Simulation) coupled method, to simulate mixing in a realistically scaled fictitious airport. Application of the LES method such as determination of what eddy size to resolve, transient startup effects, determination of eddy turnover time and others are discussed. Abstract:
Concurrent different histopathological types of gynecologic tumors arise rarely. We present ovarian serous and cervical squamous cell carcinoma formed synchronously. A 51-year-old woman with a poor general condition was admitted with gradual distension of abdomen for 1 year with gradual loss of weight and appetite for the last three months and pain in the abdomen and irregular vaginal bleeding for the last two months. There was no family history of malignancy of genital tract, breast or colon. On examination she was cachexic, pale, dehydrated, tachypnoeic and had edema over feet. Per abdomen examination revealed solid, non-mobile palpable mass arising from pelvis. Per vaginal examination revealed large mass in pelvis and uterus can not be felt separately on per speculum examination there was small endocervical erosion, hypertrophied cervix. On per rectal examination bilateral parametria were free. Her tumor marker were evaluated and CA-125 was found to be raised (CA 125: 915.6 u/ml U/mL); rest tumor markers were normal. Cervical punch biopsy was suggestive of moderately differentiated carcinoma and pap smear was also suggestive of cervical cancer. MRI findings revealed a mass of altered signal intensity 2.5 × 1.5 × 2.2 cm with diffusion restriction and post contrast enhancement in the anterior lip of cervix and another large, lobulated predominantly solid mass, hypo intense on T1, intermediate on T2 with diffusion restriction and post contrast enhancement in the right adnexal region abutting the small bowel and sigmoid colon optimal debulking surgery with standard protocol was done. Histopathology report revealed squamous cell carcinoma of cervix, grade III and high grade serous cystadenocarcinoma of ovary. Tumour deposits from ovary were seen on right fallopian tube and right parametrium. Squamous cell carcinoma cervix involved ectocervix, endocervix and infiltrated near full thickness of cervical stroma, endomyometrium, vaginal cuff, paracervical tissue omentum and appendix were free of tumour. Twenty five right pelvic lymphnodes dissected were free of tumour, (00/25). One out of fifteen lymphnode dissected were involved with extra capsular extent, 01/15 and thirteen para aortic lymph node dissected were free of tumor. Immunohistochemistry markers: Ovarian mass-tumour cell expressed ck, vimentin, wt-1 with focal Ck positivity, no expression of ck20, p63, ck5/6 and CEA seen. Cervical tumour-tumour cells expressed ck, ck7, p63 and ck5/6 no expression of ck20, wt-1. Based on our case report we need to keep in mind that even if patient presents with symptoms pertaining to a single malignancy; still the rare possibility of synchronous malignancies should be looked for by doing proper investigations. In our case, patient had symptoms pertaining to ovarian malignancy; whereas cervical malignancy was diagnosed after investigating the patient. Histologic examination should be done properly as the prognosis depends on the malignancies being metastatic or synchronous one appropriate management should be offered in all such cases. Long term follow up of such patients should be maintained to determine the prognosis.
