Abstract:
The Idea of this paper is to document the contributions of contemporary Muslim scholars, Islamic institutions, and postgraduate students to the study of Qurʼān manuscripts through an initial bibliographic survey. The central question addresses the extent and scope of these contributions, examining whether there was any reluctance among Muslim scholars to engage in the study of Qurʼān manuscripts. The objectives of this paper is to provide a preliminary comprehensive overview of the efforts made by contemporary Muslim scholars and Islamic institutions in this domain. Furthermore, this study showcases the significant contributions of contemporary Muslim scholars and Islamic institutions to the study of Qurʼān manuscripts, highlighting their roles and any reservations they may have had regarding the analysis of ancient Qurʼān manuscripts. The paper also identifies key challenges in this field, including the scarcity of previous studies, limited bibliographic surveys, and the lack of dedicated Qurʼānic research centers in the Muslim world. In this paper, a statistical and analytical methodology was applied, the statistical-methodology was facilitated by a preliminary bibliographic list from the e-Ma’rifa Foundation, which included books, published articles in academic journals, conference papers, and university theses. Additional data were provided by the Tafsir Center for Quranic Studies. The findings reveal that contemporary Muslim scholars, postgraduate students, and Islamic institutions have made substantial contributions to the study of Qurʼān manuscripts, with no significant opposition to analytical studies in this area. Consequently, the authors recommend the establishment of specialized centers to conduct comprehensive studies on Qurʼān manuscripts across the Muslim world.

Abstract:
The Academy of Islamic Studies (APIUM), University of Malaya, is one of the most prominent shariah institutions in this country. Since its inception, APIUM has produced thousands of alumni in the field of Islamic studies, particularly shariah. This article, thus, seeks to explore the achievements and contributions made by these alumni in developing and reviving the study of shariah in Malaysia. For this aim, this study will first examine the long history of APIUM followed by its methodological approach in studying shariah. Next, it will closely identify individual contributions and achievements of its alumni in various sectors related to shariah. Overall, this study finds that alumni from APIUM have contributed immensely to the development of shariah studies in this country. This is done through APIUM’s unique approach towards Shariah studies, and the important roles played by its alumni in key areas such as fatwa institutions, Islamic judiciary, shariah scholarship, Islamic administration, and Islamic finance.

Abstract:
This study examines the role of Islamic tertiary institutions in strengthening the halal ecosystem in Indonesia through the establishment and operation of Halal Centers. These centers, acting as Halal Inspection Agencies (LPHs), are expected to significantly impact halalization efforts by integrating scientific knowledge with Islamic values, ultimately serving as hubs for halal studies. Through qualitative research on Halal Centers at five State Islamic Higher Education Institutions (PTKIN), this study analyzes the individual contributions of each institution to generalize their collective role. The findings reveal that these institutions make significant contributions to the advancement of halal potential in Indonesia through three key roles: (a) developing human resources through the establishment and operationalization of Halal Centers; (b) increasing access to halal certification by functioning as LPHs, thereby incentivizing wider adoption of halal standards among businesses; and (c) promoting halal product research and business incubation, particularly for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). These universities, leveraging their infrastructure, human resources, and expertise, are positioned to pioneer innovation and research within the halal sector. Furthermore, practical initiatives undertaken by these institutions include disseminating information on halal certification to MSME stakeholders and assisting with Halal Product Process (PPH) implementation.

Acheh as one of the earliest centres of the spread of Islam in the Malay Archipelago, had played a significant role in advancing Islamic education in the region. History recorded many scholars who came from Acheh and most of them had great influence, not only in the country, but also in the Malay-Indonesian archipelago. Among the scholars were Ḥamzah Fanṣūrī, Shams al-Dīn al-Sumaṭra’ī, Nūr al-Dīn al-Rānīrī and ‘Abd al-Ra’ūf al-Fanṣūrī. Undoubtedly, these scholars had made significant contributions to the progress of Islamic education in this area. This study aims to investigate the contribution of ‘Abd al-Ra’ūf al-Fanṣūrī in the effort to advance Islamic education in the archipelago in the context of Islamic educational institutions, the development of Islamic knowledge fields and literature, as well as the orientation of Islamic education. This study is based on qualitative research using document analysis methods. The findings of this study show that ‘Abd al-Ra’ūf has played a significant role in advancing Islamic education in the archipelago during the 17th century. Among his efforts in this field were the establishment of Islamic educational institutions, expanding the fields of Islamic knowledge by composing many works on each fields of knowledge, and also by introducing and applying a new orientation of Islamic education which is equilibrium between exoteric (sharī‘ah) and esoteric (Sufism) aspect of Islamic teaching.

Although the important influence of IFIs on economic growth is acknowledged, yet the contribution of Nigeria’s IFIs shows a gross underperformance. In addition, the practice of Islamic Finance is increasingly being viewed as not only serving as alternative for the Muslims but successful business practices around the world. Previous literature reveals that theoretical contributions in the area remained limited in the Nigerian, therefore, there is a need for more studies on corporate governance in the context of IFIs, especially in Nigeria, where IFI are considered as important financial institutions to the Muslims. Moreover, studies in Nigeria revealed absence of comprehensive framework for the Islamic finance industry. On the other hand, poor Islamic Work Ethics conquers a central position for the low performance of Nigerian IFIs. The paper presents a theoretical framework on the moderating effect of Islamic Work Ethics on the relationship between Islamic corporate Governance practices and the performance of Islamic Financial Institutions (IFIs) in Nigeria. If validated, the model would have policy implications to IFIs and other stakeholders in decision making.

Abstract:
The present study, in principle, aims to introduce an archipelago figure who was once the focus of knowledge seekers in the Holy City of Makkah, Shaykh Muhammad Mahfuz Al-Tarmasiy. This scholar had also left behind significant contributions in his birthplace in the Island of Java. To identify his stature in the field of Islamic studies, scholarly works that bring to light the aesthetics of his writings will be briefly highlighted, fitting with the requirements of research papers. The methodology used in the present study is inclined towards qualitative research that encompasses the various sources of information in the form of his writings, be it from published books, untouched original manuscripts, theses and dissertation that look into his manuscripts and books, and the official website of the institution that was established by his successors. Interviews with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren living across the country will also be utilized as one of the methods used in identifying this figure, his background and the general view about his stature. The results of the study found that, al-Tarmasiy’s stature in the area of Islamic studies is indeed superior based on two factors: First: The establishment of traditional and modern educational institutions in Java that were inspired by his enthusiasm and struggles for the sake of knowledge. Second: The impact of his meticulous works that span over twenty books on the academic world and on the traditional talaqqi education system.

This article focuses on the study of the transformations of Islamic studies that have taken place in Malaysia since independence. The highlights have been made to Islamic-based centers of study whether formal or informal. This study aims to look at the contribution of Islamic educational institutions and their developmental history to transform and generate holistic human development in Malaysia. To achieve this objective, the study was conducted using the library method which consisted of references to articles, books, theses, newspapers and so on. The study found that institutions of Islamic studies, colleges and universities or university colleges contributed positively and become the core of early Islamic studies in Malaysia besides aiming to develop the well-being of Muslim scholars and technologists. It is hoped that the existing Islamic educational institutions in Malaysia are able to develop the trust and responsibility of achieving the vision and mission of the 'ummah' in line with the demands of modern times

This research is a figure study research, the purpose is to produce a formulation of analysis of the biography, thoughts, and contributions of Sheikh Ali Hasan regarding the modernization of Islamic education in North Sumatra. The primary data source of this research is the intellectual works of Sheikh Ali Hasan Ahmad Ad-dary in the form of books, as well as the Islamic education institutions that were developed. The secondary sources of this research are the works of other people about him. The research stages include data collection, data verification, interpretation, and preparation of research reports on character studies. The data analysis used is content analysis. The research findings show that the educational modernization of Sheikh Sheikh Ali Hasan Ahmad Ad-dary's includes: developing a culture of literacy by producing forty-four written works covering the fields of Fiqh and Islamic Law, Hadith studies, Al-Quran studies, morals and theology, and even actual Islamic issues. In addition, he also pioneered the study of Hadith in North Sumatra and pioneered and developed higher education institutions in North Sumatra. The thought, role, and contribution of Sheikh Ali Hasan Ahmad Ad-dary in the modernization of Islamic education in North Sumatra is a historical fact that cannot be denied until now. Brand personality is defined as the “set of human personality traits that are both applicable to and relevant for brands”. It is aimed at understanding the scientific contributions made by brand personality research and identifying its predominant traits as well as human characteristics. Islamic marketing scholars caught the attention by creating the characteristics of Islamic brand personality model which representing the Muslim consumers world widely in cosmetics, personal care, bakery, clothing Islamic and financial institutions. However, the proposition dimensions of Islamic brand personality seem to be familiar with conventional brand personality. Therefore, the objective of article is to explore by critically reviewed the previous model of brand personality and its dimensions. The present article employed qualitative study in form of library research. Finding indicated strength (i.e. Sharia indicator in Islamic brand personality, strengthening halal procedure in Islamic brand product, and assists the company in providing halal products and services. and weaknesses (i.e. (a) the dimensions of Islamic brand personality are based on conventional pivot, (b) immoral conduct on Islamic brand product, and (c) lack of awareness on the importance of halal brand in Malaysia) studies was reviewed. Present article proposed the component of Qawaid Fiqhiyah in explaining Islamic brand personality. This component able to assist firm to create personality of product in fulfilling demand of consumers align with Islamic conjunction.

The research data is in the form of data about The dynamics of Mathla’ul Anwareducational institution from its management aspect from primary sources in the form of books on the dynamics of educational institutions, Mathla'ul Anwar educational institutions, book development institutions in Islamic education and relevant journals. Data collection techniques were carried out using documentation studies. The researchers' data sources were obtained from books and journals about the dynamics of Mathla’ul Anwar educational institution from a management perspective. Data analysis uses Content Analysis. Based on the research results obtained, the dynamics of Mathla’ul Anwar educational institution in terms of management shows that this institution has succeeded in integrating various important elements in education to achieve its main goals. With a strong historical background and commitment to Islamic values, Mathla'ul Anwar continues to innovate and adapt to changing times. Management aspects, which include planning strategies, organizational structure, curriculum development, monitoring, and evaluation, as well as the development of human resources and facilities, have been implemented well. Overall, effective and efficient management at Mathla'ul Anwar has produced an educational institution that not only focuses on academic achievement but also builds the character and morals of students. This institution is able to face challenges and make good use of opportunities, continuing to be committed to producing a generation of knowledge, faith, and piety. Through good management, it is hoped that Mathla'ul Anwar can continue to make a meaningful contribution to the progress of education in Indonesia. Thus, this conclusion shows that the Mathla'ul Anwar educational institution continues to innovate and adapt to changing times and can make a positive contribution to creating a better educational institution.

Abstract:
Islamic economics has a long history that began during the time of Prophet Muhammad SAW and has continued to develop into the modern era. The fundamental principles of Islamic economics, such as social justice, equitable wealth distribution, and resource management based on ethical sharia, form the foundation of a sustainable and just economic system. This study aims to examine the development of Islamic economics from a historical perspective and its relevance in the modern era. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive approach with literature studies as the primary data source. The analysis focuses on literature discussing the history of Islamic economics, the application of Islamic economic principles, and the challenges faced during the colonial period and the era of globalization. The findings show that Islamic economics made significant contributions during the Islamic golden age through institutions such as zakat, waqf, and Islamic banking, which supported social welfare and economic equity. Despite facing significant challenges during colonial and modern periods, Islamic economics remains relevant with the development of sharia financial institutions offering alternatives to conventional financial systems. The contribution of this study is to deepen the understanding of Islamic economics and demonstrate its potential application in addressing global economic issues. This study also notes limitations in empirical data collection, thus further research is needed to examine the implementation of Islamic economics in various countries with different contexts.

This article studies the contribution of two scholars or ulamak in Selangor before the independence of Malaya. The two ulamak are Kiyai Muhammad Ali Qaribun and Kiyai Khalil Ibn Abu Ammar. Both ulamak are of Javanese descent who settled in Selangor and have made many contributions not only in Islamic preaching but also in various fields such as establishing the pondok educational institutions, serving the community as teachers, imams, kadis and producing books that has influenced and changed the socio-economic, educational, social and cultural backgrounds of Selangor. The objective of this study is to highlight the ulamak in Selangor as reference to the community and acknowledge their contributions to Selangor.

Abstract:
This article intends to focus on the contribution of Italian research to the knowledge of the Islamic world, underlining its path and evolution up to the present day in content, objectives and methodology. The Italian path has its roots in a tradition that dates back to the 16th century. Here we take ourselves back to the end of the 19th century, when studies on Islam were part of a generic discipline of Oriental Studies and Linguistics. Rather than on names and bibliographies (there would be too many - for which reference is made to the Treccani Italian Encyclopedia), we focus on the most significant 'stages', starting from the institutional configuration of Studies on Islam and Islamic Studies as autonomous disciplines: Michele Amari and the Italian Geographical Society, and therefore Leone Caetani and The Annals of Islam, the latter "forge" in which the great Islamists of the 20th century were trained: M. Guidi, C. A. Nallino, G. Levi Della Vida, F. Gabrieli. Alongside the academy and new fields of research (Turcology, Iranian studies, Arabic studies, etc.) three large institutions were added - supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: the Institute for the Orient (later IsPO), the Institute for the Middle and Far East Oriente and the Italian Institute for Africa (still active). World War II also marked an important break in Italy, leading studies on the Arab and Islamic world to the use of new disciplines. The influence of the French Annales school and the entry of the 'social sciences' into the new methodological paths were decisive. Studies on Islam were not immune, but distanced themselves from political science and the media fascination with 'analysis' and 'scenarios', to strictly adhere to linguistic knowledge as an indispensable tool for the study and evaluation, including historical, of political, social and current cultures, in regions where very different civilizations and traditions had met, sometimes clashed and overlapped. Multidisciplinarity and 'field-work' were the instrument of this turning point in Italy. In the first years of the Third Millennium, 'sciences' and new research 'technologies' (archaeometry, physics, the drone, etc.) came together which, by supporting textual and non-textual sources, allow the 'confirmation' of those that had remained working hypothesis for a long time.

Turkey’s transition into modernity is one of the earliest models of modernization in the Muslim world. A complex and controversial process involved significant changes to the country’s political, social, and cultural institutions. Accordingly, Muslim intellectuals responded to the challenges posed by this transition process that endangered the country’s Islamic identity. This paper analyses the historical overview of Turkey’s modernization process, highlighting the key events, institutions, and actors that played a role in shaping the country’s development on one hand. On the other hand, it explores the response of the ‘ulamā’ to the modernization process, with a special emphasis on the contributions of Bediuzzaman Said Nursi. It analysed his activist and intellectual struggle to meet the challenges of the modernization process, his criticisms of the secularist approach to modernization, and his efforts to develop an Islamic political theory that provided answers to the new situation.

Abstract:
Studies on transformational leadership have shown to be beneficial for employees and organizations, particularly those with an Islamic foundation. Islamic elements present within Islamic institutions seem to have different viewpoints regarding the numerous implications of transformational leadership. To have a clear understanding of the transformational leadership presence in Islamic-based institutions, it is crucial to compile prior literature. Then will ensure the efficiency on effectiveness of transformational leadership in Islamic-based institutions for future reference. Regrettably, there has yet to be enough research that thoroughly reviews the body of knowledge on transformational leadership implications for employees in Islamic-based institutions. Therefore, a thorough literature assessment on the impact of transformational leadership on employees in Islamic-based institutions was conducted in this project. This study used the PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) review approach to guarantee that the results were of high quality. Two eminent databases, Scopus and Web of Science, as well as one auxiliary database, Google Scholar, were used to retrieve the articles. Two key topics were found through thematic analysis, including 1) employee performance and effectiveness, and 2) employee ethical behavior. Six sub-themes were then created by combining these two primary themes. This research will add to the body of knowledge currently available in the fields of transformational leadership and practical application in institutions with an Islamic foundation. The following are the study's key contributions: 1) pinpointing the beneficial effects of transformational leadership towards employees in Islamic-based organizations, and 2) formulating recommendations for more research in this area.

Research examining the intention of cash waqf in Islamic Microfinance institutions remain more paucity of evidence. To the best of the authors' knowledge, previous studies have still been silent on exploring the intention of cash waqf in the context of Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT). Dealing with this issue, this study examines the impact of transparency and accountability perception on trust and intention to donate cash waqf in Islamic Microfinance Institutions. This study employed a survey in the form of a questionnaire to obtain the required data from 303 waqif (people who donate cash waqf) both at BMT and another nazhir waqf around the island of Java, Indonesia. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using Structural Equation Model-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) in two stages, i.e., measurement models and structural models. The results of data analysis portrayed that the perception of transparency provided a significant impact on trust and intention to donate cash waqf in Islamic finance institutions. It was also depicted that the level of trust positively influenced the intention to give cash waqf in Islamic finance institutions. These results offer significant contributions as fruitful insights to strengthen the transparency and accountability of Islamic microfinance institutions, particularly Baitul Maal wat Tamwil (BMT) in Indonesia.

The purpose of this study is to investigate the Indonesian Islamic microfinance institutions' (IMFIs) condition, and their strategies to survive and to explore their contribution during the pandemic by combining and synthesizing the result of all previous studies. To achieve that goal, this research uses a systematic literature review method by mining all data available which in addition makes this paper different from other previous works. This enables us to provide a deeper, broader, and more comprehensive understanding of the topic. Google Scholar is set as the database for three reasons. This research found that Indonesian IMFIs are affected by the pandemic and classified into three categories based on the severity of the impact: Severely hit, affected yet stable, and IMFIs that grow during the pandemic. Indonesian IMFIs had in total 6 types of strategies to survive during the pandemic: Active and passive approaches, common and innovative schemes, as well as persuasive and administrative activities. The study also found the contributions of Indonesian IMFIs during the pandemic and classified them into two categories financial and non-financial contributions. This research is unique by delivering comprehensive non-segregated data and well-synthesized condition of IMFIs in entire Indonesia during the pandemic. The results of this study give policymakers a fundamental ground to develop proper policy in fostering IMFIs after the pandemic. IMFI practitioners should also take benefit from the results by mirroring, modifying, or improving the strategies to face future economic turbulences.

The research highlights how Islamic financial principles—such as risk-sharing, ethical investing, and prohibition of interest (riba)—align with the goals of sustainability by fostering financial inclusion, social equity, and environmental responsibility. Additionally, it investigates the role of Islamic financial institutions in supporting green projects, infrastructure development, and poverty alleviation efforts across different regions. While Islamic finance presents significant opportunities for advancing sustainable development, challenges related to regulatory frameworks, awareness, and integration into global financial systems remain. Purpose The aim of this study is to develop a spiritual intelligence scale from an Islamic perspective. In addition, this research explores the relationship of spiritual intelligence from an Islamic perspective with emotional intelligence among the students of higher learning institutions in Malaysia. Design/methodology/approach Data were collected from 250 students from different higher learning institutions in Malaysia. Findings The findings of the study show the relationships of spiritual intelligence from an Islamic perspective and emotional intelligence. Statistically significant relationships were found between four dimensions of spiritual intelligence from an Islamic perspective (e.g. transcendental awareness, meaning of life, patience and forgiveness) and emotional intelligence. Originality/value The contribution of human intelligence in the development higher learning institution is remarkable. Most research found on spiritual intelligence is from traditional and Western perspective with very limited studies found from an Islamic perspective. The purpose of the current study is to construct a spiritual intelligence from an Islamic perspective and empirically validate the items. The study also looks for relationships of spiritual intelligence from an Islamic perspective and emotional intelligence among the students of higher learning institutions.

This study aims to analyze trends, citation patterns, and collaborations in research related to the theory and methods of Islamic Studies over the past five years to provide an in-depth understanding of the development of theory and methods in Islamic Studies, identify significant contributions from journals, researchers, and institutions, and uncover research gaps that could be opportunities for further development. The bibliometric method used includes collecting data from Google Scholar using the Publish or Perish application, which is then visualized with VOSviewer software to analyze collaboration patterns, publication trends, and citation networks. The study also integrates quantitative and qualitative analysis to provide a richer interpretation of the data. The results show that publications in Islamic Studies experienced a significant increase in 2023 with the highest number of studies, although there was a decline in 2024. Other key findings include the dominance of traditional methods such as interpretation in research, although contemporary approaches such as phenomenology and comparative methods continue to evolve. However, there are gaps in cross-disciplinary integration and broader international collaboration. The novelty and contribution of this research lies in its comprehensive approach in combining bibliometric methods and qualitative analysis to map the development of Islamic Studies theory and methods, as well as identifying unanswered research gaps. The study not only provides insight into the latest scientific trends and patterns but also offers strategic recommendations to improve the quality and relevance of research in this field in the future.

Islamic religious education in Uzbekistan has demonstrated remarkable resilience and adaptability in the face of its profound historical, political, and cultural transformations. This study traces its evolution from the Soviet era—characterized by severe suppression and the dismantling of Islamic institutions—to its state-guided revival following Uzbekistan’s independence in 1991. It highlights how traditional Islamic values have been preserved and integrated with modern pedagogical approaches to address contemporary societal needs. During the Soviet period, informal networks like the Hujra system continued its religious education, ensuring its continuity despite restrictions. Post-independence reforms, however, have sought to cultivate moderate, apolitical Islamic teachings aligned with national development goals. Drawing on 20 academic studies, this article synthesizes key themes, including historical development, comparative analyses, policy frameworks, and modern challenges. Methodologically, the research categorizes these studies to explore the interplay between religious and secular paradigms, interdisciplinary learning, and the incorporation of technology and ethics into curricula. The study also examines the contributions of influential figures, like Mahmudkhoja Behbudi and the Jadidism movement in shaping a progressive Islamic education model. By placing Uzbekistan’s experience within a global perspective, this study provides valuable insights for other Muslim-majority nations seeking to reform their Islamic education systems—addressing contemporary complexities while preserving their cultural and spiritual identity. As a reformist scholar, he emphasized the primacy of authentic Hadith in shaping Islamic jurisprudence, advocating for a return to the original sources of Islam— the Qur'an and Sunnah—while rejecting blind adherence to traditional madhhab-based interpretations. Al-Albani’s work in Hadith criticism is particularly noteworthy. He meticulously analyzed thousands of narrations, classifying them based on authenticity and reviving a rigorous approach to Hadith verification. This article studies Saudi Arabia–trained Indonesian Islamic scholars, both past and present. It also discusses Saudi Arabia’s non-Islamic studies Indonesian Muslim scholars. Since past centuries, Muslims on the Malay–Indonesian archipelago has journeyed to the Arabian Peninsula, especially Hijaz, either for pilgrimage or learning. This legacy continues nowadays. While many alumni of Saudi Arabia’s Islamic educational institutions–formal and informal–have contributed significantly to the development of Islamic and Muslim cultures and education in Indonesia, some chose to stay, teach, and pass away in Makkah. The study shows that, unlike popular beliefs and opinions, Saudi Arabia-trained Indonesian Islamic scholars vary in terms of religious orientations, political affiliations, social networks, and academic backgrounds. For example, some scholars tend to be ultraconservative and militant, while others are inclined to be progressive and moderate. While the presence of Indonesian Islamic scholars has declined significantly in Saudi Arabia since the last four decades, new tiny Indonesian Muslim scholars specializing in non-Islamic studies began to emerge and teach in some universities in the Kingdom. This article, among others, aims at examining the plurality, complexity, and shifting dynamics of Saudi Arabia’s Indonesian Islamic and Muslim scholars as well as their major roles and contributions in the spread and development of Indonesia’s Islam and society.&#x0D;

This study explores the significant contributions of women in the transmission and dissemination of Sahihul Bukhari, a revered collection of hadith compiled by Imam Bukhari. The research aims to highlight the roles of female scholars in preserving and teaching Sahihul Bukhari, often overlooked in mainstream Islamic scholarship. Using a qualitative methodology, the study examines historical texts, biographical sources, and scholarly articles, alongside interviews with contemporary female hadith scholars. The findings reveal that women not only studied Sahihul Bukhari but also taught, transcribed, and narrated it across generations. Notable figures such as Karima al-Marwaziyya and Fatima bint Ibrahim ibn Jowhar played pivotal roles in hadith transmission, issuing ijazah (teaching authorizations) and leading study circles. The study also discusses modern institutions continuing this tradition. Despite societal challenges, female scholars have significantly shaped Islamic education. Recognizing their contributions fosters a more inclusive understanding of Islamic scholarship. The study concludes by emphasizing the need for further research and greater recognition of women’s roles in Islamic intellectual history.

Data collection techniques were carried out using documentation studies. The researchers' data sources were obtained from books and journals about the urgency of educational management in Islamic educational institutions. Data analysis uses Content Analysis. Based on the research results, it was found that educational management has a very important urgency in developing educational institutions. The urgency of educational management in developing educational institutions includes Improving the Quality of Education, Resource Efficiency, Planning Strategy, Providing an Optimal Learning Environment, Human Resource Development, Evaluation, and Continuous Improvement, which are called Educational Goals. Thus, educational management is a very important foundation in developing educational institutions so that they can provide quality, efficient education in line with the demands of the times. Thus, this conclusion shows that Islamic education management in developing educational institutions can make a positive contribution to creating better educational institutions.

The nature of women in development has a big role not only in the economic foundation of households, in the use of Islamic social financial institutions. Poverty motivates women to develop their potential through opportunity, excellence, and equality. Attention to Islamic social finance namely zakat, infaq, sadaqa and waqf in Indonesia is increasing as awareness improves. Limited access of productive women to social financial institutions makes it difficult to obtain business capital. The study investigates the contribution of women to poverty alleviation through Islamic social finance. This study uses qualitative methods with a field study approach. The research location is at the Micro Waqf Bank Lan Taburo Lebak Banten, Indonesia. Data collection using interviews, observations, and literature studies. Data analysis techniques use triangulation with collection, reduction, presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that the role of productive women micro waqf bank customers utilizes Islamic social finance, namely managing business financing, increasing household income, creating household economic prosperity, strengthening community empowerment, and increasing waqf literacy. The research implies that the greater the role of productive women utilizing Islamic social finance, the more positively it will contribute to poverty alleviation in Indonesia. This study was limited to women producing micro waqf banks who received benefits at one institution. Further research needs to be carried out in quantitative studies to find the dominant factor of alleviating harm using Islamic social finance.

Islamic entrepreneurship plays an important role in the development of sharia-based MSMEs in Indonesia, which prioritizes a balance between worldly and hereafter goals. This study aims to explore how sharia MSMEs can apply Islamic economic principles in their business operations, such as transparency, fairness, and social responsibility, and face the challenges in creating this balance. The method used is a qualitative approach with case studies, in-depth interviews, direct observation, and analysis of related documents. The results of the study indicate that the application of sharia principles in sharia-based MSMEs not only pays attention to aspects of material profit, but also emphasizes social sustainability through zakat, infaq, and sadaqah. The main challenge faced is how to maintain a balance between financial profit and religious values, especially in facing competitive market competition. This study also highlights the importance of collaboration between MSMEs, sharia financial institutions, the government, and educational institutions in supporting the development of sharia-based MSMEs. Overall, this study provides insight into the development of sustainable Islamic entrepreneurship and provides positive social contributions to Indonesian society.

This research explores the historical and intellectual dynamics of hadith development in North Africa, particularly in Tunisia. Against a backdrop of complex political and cultural influences since the Umayyad Dynasty, the spread of hadith in Tunisia involved not only the transmission of texts but also contextualization within local culture. This study identifies three primary aspects of hadith studies in North Africa: the writing of hadith books, the impact of Islamic expansion on hadith studies, and the contributions of Tunisian scholars to the development of hadith historiography methods. Using a qualitative approach with historiographic analysis, this research delves into the intellectual aspects that accompanied hadith development in Tunisia, including hadith transmission and codification within the framework of social, political, and cultural change. The findings reveal that hadith codification in Tunisia was strongly supported by the establishment of educational institutions during the Aghlabid and Fatimid dynasties. This study seeks to fill a gap in hadith research by focusing on the mechanisms of hadith dissemination and the contributions of Tunisian scholars to hadith studies, thereby providing a broader understanding of hadith development in the Islamic world, particularly in North Africa.

Research aims: This study aims to investigate the growth of Indonesian Islamic banks and explore the determinants of organizational growth from different perspectives through climate factors, namely clarity, standard, commitment, communication, responsibility and teamwork, and support. The study also attempts to develop a model to measure the growth of Islamic banking institutions. Only limited studies have thus far explored this issue, with this study trying to fill the gap.Design/Methodology/Approach: This paper drew upon theories and arguments from the “climate” and “growth” areas and identified organizational climate as one of the main topics affecting Islamic banks. Grounded in a review of the mutual impact of organizational climate and growth constructs, the authors developed research propositions and discussed the implications of the proposed relationships for both.Research findings: Despite Islamic banks having been established and prospered for 28 years, supported by Indonesia having the largest Muslim population of any country in the world, the development of Islamic banks in Indonesia has been inferior to that of conventional banks. This paper argues that organizational climate must be considered an important factor in enhancing Indonesian Islamic banks' quality. It is because the essence of its climate may help an organization become more effective and generate a better perception, with the climate being used to improve the organization’s quality of management.Theoretical contribution/Originality: By combining the aspects of “climate” and “growth” from earlier studies and categorizing them by organizational studies and a comprehensive literature review, this study proposes a model specific to the banking institution. The study offers a conceptual model for the organizational climate in Islamic banking institutions and argues that organizational climate can be used to determine organizational growth in Indonesian Islamic banks.Practitioner/Policy implication: Based on its proposed conceptual model, this study is expected to contribute knowledge of Indonesian Islamic banks, policies, stakeholders, regulators, and government. The research explores various related studies in organizational growth from a climate perspective. Further, this study's results will be of significant practical assistance to the managers of Islamic banks and policymakers in developing climate mechanisms for Islamic banking growth. Moreover, this study significantly contributes to economic growth's sustainability and enhances banks’ growth.Research limitation/Implication: While several factors may be used to predict and determine growth, this study used climate factors to determine the growth of Islamic banking institutions. Thus, it is necessary to explore various factors to develop further studies and add new insight to determine organizational growth.

The article explores the history of religious education in Azerbaijan, highlighting the development of madrasahs in the region following the spread of Islam. It notes that many prominent figures emerged from those institutions, and Azerbaijani scholars made significant contributions to Islamic culture. However, after Azerbaijan was occupied by Tsarist Russia, the activities of madrasahs were severely restricted. With the establishment of Soviet rule, they were completely shut down, and many religious scholars were persecuted and killed. It also highlights that after years of repression, particularly on the eve of the collapse of the Soviet Union, educational centers for religious studies were established in cities like Bukhara (Uzbekistan), Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Kazan (Tatarstan), and other parts of the Soviet Union. Muslims from across the USSR, including Azerbaijanis, were eager to pursue religious studies at these centers. The article also mentions that after Azerbaijan gained independence, great attention was given to religion, leading to the establishment of new educational institutions. It briefly covers the activities of the Baku Islamic University and the Azerbaijan Institute of Theology.

Against the background of increasing political and academic interest in imam and chaplaincy training and education in Europe, this article argues that the value and purpose of such education remains situated in an alignment between educational provider, student-participants, and employer–stakeholder expectations. These expectations are primarily about Muslim students’ learning and development, requirements and standards of employers, and contributions to community and society, and only secondly, the educations aim at meeting political expectations. The article explores aspects of Hartford Seminary’s success with its programme and alignment of education content and environment with student expectations and the labour market demand. This is supported theoretically by the input–environment–outcome assessment model. The structural and contextually embedded criteria for excellence are discussed and problematised, pointing both to the marginalisation of other drivers of education development that are not market aligned and to strategies of embedding religious authority with chaplains in institutions rather than with imams in mosques. In conclusion, the article highlights the self-sustaining logics that drive educational development but also points to corroborating social, economic, and welfare reasons for quality imam and chaplaincy education.

This research aims to analyze the development of Islamic economics in Islamic boarding schools in Banjar City. The research method used is qualitative with a descriptive analysis approach, and the sample consists of 45 Islamic boarding school institutions taken using the saturated sampling method. The study results indicate that Islamic economics development in Islamic boarding schools in Banjar City is generally good in several aspects. However, there are still three aspects that are not optimal, namely the lack of activities on Islamic economic/financial studies, the absence of Islamic economic/zakat/financing institutions, and not being involved in the socialization/promotion of Islamic economic and financial products in Banjar City. The indicators of the perception of Islamic boarding school leaders towards Islamic economics and their contribution to the development of Islamic economics are good, but the mentoring of society trapped in loan sharks still needs to be improved.

Abstract : This study analyzes global trends and collaboration in mathematics education research during the 2014&ndash;2024 period using a bibliometric approach. The findings indicate a significant increase in the number of publications, peaking in 2020 before stabilizing in recent years. Indonesia and Malaysia have been the primary contributors, with increasing involvement from other countries such as Turkey, Iran, and Saudi Arabia. International collaboration has expanded, marked by a growing academic network and contributions from major institutions such as Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI) and Universitas Syiah Kuala. The study also identifies a thematic shift from traditional pedagogical approaches toward integration with STEM, technology, and international assessments such as PISA and TIMSS. Furthermore, the collaborative network among researchers reveals that certain academics, such as S. Huda and M. Broer, have had a significant influence on the research community. These findings underscore the importance of cross-national and interdisciplinary collaboration in driving innovation and enhancing the effectiveness of mathematics education globally. Thus, this research provides valuable insights for academics, policymakers, and education practitioners in developing more inclusive and sustainable strategies for mathematics education research and teaching.

Specifically, it seeks to understand the significance of Jamiatul Waqf Al-Islami bil Filibbin in Marawi City particularly in its endeavor in the academe such as policies, curriculum and activities in promoting the concept of Jihad. Moreover, the study aims to accumulate responses from the talamidh (students), asatidh (teachers), administration and other Muslims, not directly affiliated regarding the alleged involvement of the madrasah in violent extremism. Despite its reputation, the madrasah gained notoriety for allegedly harboring the group behind the Marawi siege. This negative perception has led to stereotypes about the madrasah institution notwithstanding its contribution in cultivating individuals grounded in Islamic teachings. Considering this, the researchers believe that there has to be qualitative research that will explore the role of madaris like Waqf and how they implement the concept of Jihad through education. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, specifically using purposive sampling. Results of the study was obtained from the twenty (20) students, ten (10) ustadz and other administrators through oral interview. The researchers deliberately selected Jamiatul Waqf Al-Islami Bil Filibbin in Marawi City due to its extensive student body known for adhering strictly to Islamic standards. The findings of this study shows that that Waqf as a religious institution in Marawi City is created to secure the hold of Islam in Marawi City through its jihad in propagating the pure teachings of Islam. The institution’s activities are rooted in educational and religious development rather than violent extremism. The association of madrasah with extremis mis largely driven by misconception and incident like Marawi Seige. Through this study, Waqf emerges as a center for Islamic learning promoting Jihad in its purest and peaceful context. Waqf serves as a religious institution committed to the peaceful propagation of Islamic teachings. The notion that is foster violent extremis mis unsupported by the narratives of talamidh, asatidh and the administrators. It is recommended that similar studies on other existing madaris institutions must be conducted

Islamic education in the 2nd century Hijriyah played a crucial role in shaping the sustainable Islamic educational system that continues to this day. During this period, prominent Muslim scholars such as Abu Hanifah, Malik bin Anas, and Al-Shafi’i formulated educational concepts based on the Qur'an and Sunnah, which later developed in educational institutions such as halaqah and early madrasas. This study aims to analyze the relevance of Islamic educational theories from the 2nd century Hijriyah in the development of contemporary education systems. Using a qualitative approach based on literature studies, this research examines the educational principles applied in that era and their contributions to modern learning systems. The findings indicate that key principles, such as value-based education, interactive discussion methods, and the integration of religious and secular sciences, remain relevant to contemporary educational challenges. This article contributes by linking the history of Islamic educational thought with the demands of a more holistic and value-based modern education system.

This study aims to analyze the work of alumni of the Aqidah and Islamic Philosophy study program, Faculty of Ushuluddin and Islamic Studies, Islamic University of Sumatera Utara, with a focus on observing the contributions made and the strategic areas of civil society development that alumni do. The research used a descriptive study-based qualitative method, and data collection techniques using observation, interviews and document analysis. Furthermore, the data collected was analyzed using the Miles and Hubberman interactive model including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study indicate three findings, namely first, the role of alumni in taking part in building and fostering communities in Sumatra and several regions in Indonesia has been proven by the community as evidenced by the strategic position of alumni both in government and private institutions. Second, the role of alumni is more focused on the fields of education, counseling and guidance. Third, there is close involvement between study program managers, alumni, and partners in improving the work of alumni. This collaboration has proven to be an important factor in the success of a more sustainable and effective community development program.

The study aims to investigate the socioeconomic determinants that influence educational ambitions in Northern Nigeria and the potential role of Islamic waqf (Waqf). This research uses a qualitative approach. Expert interviews, case studies, and literature reviews are all incorporated into this technique. These techniques make it possible to understand the difficulties facing the local education system in great detail, as well as the historical and current contributions that Waqf has made to the advancement of education. The results of the analysis of the relevant theoretical framework and practical investigations yielded valuable insights into the ways in which the Islamic waqf system can close the huge educational gaps and inequalities in the area. The study looks at the relationship between socioeconomic status and educational goals in Northern Nigeria and how the use and revitalization of Waqf institutions can advance education in the area. The conclusion of the study is that in Northern Nigeria, socioeconomic factors are still a challenge to the desire to get an education. By involving collaboration between governments, businesses, and religious institutions to create effective and inclusive structures, Islamic waqf can be a potential solution to overcome socio-economic barriers in education.

From the findings, two main different trendscan be highlighted (improving &amp; deteriorating) relating to Malaysian IREITs' performance.The golden start-up period of Malaysian IREITs persisted only for 5 years in terms of theirpositive financial performance, which it reflected an increase in the net income and raise in theshare price of each fund of them. After 5 to 6 years from the inception, the negative financialperformance generally was noticed especially in share price. Moreover, it can be said thatMalaysian Islamic Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) do not make a positive socialcontribution based on the social responsibility activities mentioned in their annual reports. Theimplication is that social responsibility plays a fundamental role in the performance of IslamicREITs (IREITs), and this study highlights the importance of considering their social impacts,which have often been overlooked in previous studies focusing mainly on financialperformance.

Islam has a long history in developing science that began in the 7th century. This development was triggered by the teachings of the Qur'an and Hadith that encouraged the Muslims to demand knowledge and understand the universe. In the golden age of Islam (eighth to fourteenth centuries), centers of science such as Baghdad, Cordoba, and Cairo were the birthplace of many great scientists such as Al-Khwarizmi, Ibn Sina, and Al-Razi. They made significant contributions to a wide range of sciences including mathematics, medicine, astronomy, and philosophy. The influence of the development of science in Islam on Islamic education is enormous. First, education in Islam emphasizes the importance of a balance between religious science and general science. Second, many Islamic educational institutions, such as madrasas and universities, are established to facilitate the teaching of science in a comprehensive manner. Third, the curriculum of Islamic education often includes the study of science and technology, in addition to religious studies, to produce broad-knowing and critical-minded individuals. However, the development of science in Islam also faces challenges, especially in the modern era. These challenges include efforts to maintain the relevance of the Islamic educational curriculum to the development of contemporary science as well as the integration of technology into the learning process. Therefore, Islamic education needs to continue to adapt and innovate in order to remain able to make meaningful contributions to the world of science and remain relevant in the midst of changing times.

Previous studies identified low penetration rate of Takaful as one of the factors. Takaful operators are unable to provide competitive products in the market, due to their limited funds. Most rejections came from employed youth. With their lifestyles, peak of health and limited income, Takaful products are not their priorities. Thus, a need to attract this group of people must be done to increase the penetration rate and increase the contribution funds. The study is done to fulfil five objectives, which were to come out with a Takaful product that attracts the youngsters, increase the funds of Takaful operators, create a product that suits and can give benefit to the young people, promote healthy lifestyle among youngsters and promote the growth of Takaful industry in Malaysia. 4YOUth Takaful combines technology and lifestyles of youths through an apps that connects Takaful operators, online shopping platforms, selected retailers and the youth Takaful participants. Scoring system is used to convert the purchase of health-related products into points which later will be used to reduce the monthly contributions of Takaful. Not only enabling youth to have financial protection from an early stage while maintaining their desired lifestyles, 4YOUth Takaful also encourages healthy lifestyles.
