Abstract:
Background: The Caesarean section (CS) rate is steadily increasing worldwide including India. The overall CS rates are reported but rarely the women are classified. According to WHO Robson ten –group classification is useful as a global standard for assessing, monitoring and comparing cesarean section rates. Our objective was to classify women delivering in our hospital according to various categories as per the 10-group classification (Robsons classification) and analyzing the CS rate in each group. Methods: This was a cross sectional study conducted at JSS Medical College, Mysore. The data was collected for all women delivering in hospital from January 2016-December 2016 and the women were classified according to Robsons 10 group classification. The proportion of women delivering in each group, the CS rate of each group, and the relative contribution to CS rate from each group was calculated. Results: Among a total of 5016 women delivering during the study period 37.65% of women were delivered by CS. Maximum no of pregnant women belonged to primigravida group (group 1 and 2). Major contributor to CS rate were primigravida (group 2) at 32.2%. Next contributors were group 5 and group 1 at 28.9 % and 18.6% respectively. Overall the three groups 1, 2 and group 5 contributed to 79.7% of the CS rate while the other group contributed to only 21.3% of CS rate. Conclusions: Applying Robsons criteria to classify pregnant women allowed for easy classification to identify the category of women most likely to have CS. Reducing primary CS rate and increasing VBAC rates will help to reduce CS rate.

Abstract:
Anyone can contribute geographic information to OpenStreetMap (OSM), regardless of their level of experience or skills, which has raised concerns about quality. When reference data is not available to assess the quality of OSM data, intrinsic methods that assess the data and its metadata can be used. In this study, we applied unsupervised machine learning for analysing OSM history data to get a better understanding of who contributed when and how in Mozambique. Even though no absolute statements can be made about the quality of the data, the results provide valuable insight into the quality. Most of the data in Mozambique (93%) was contributed by a small group of active contributors (25%). However, these were less active than the OSM Foundation’s definition of active contributorship and the Humanitarian OpenStreetMap Team (HOT) definition for intermediate mappers. Compared to other contributor classifications, our results revealed a new class: contributors who were new in the area and most likely attracted by HOT mapping events during disaster relief operations in Mozambique in 2019. More studies in different parts of the world would establish whether the patterns observed here are typical for developing countries. Intrinsic methods cannot replace ground truthing or extrinsic methods, but provide alternative ways for gaining insight about quality, and they can also be used to inform efforts to further improve the quality. We provide suggestions for how contributor-focused intrinsic quality assessments could be further refined.

Abstract:
There is a need to rapidly collect subjective data from a diverse group of contributors to facilitate argumentation and group decision making that reflects the breadth and depth of the knowledge of the collective group. Methods currently exist, although they are subject to biases and lack traceability. A method and tool have been developed to apply collective intelligence and visualization concepts to enable such rapid decision making while overcoming the identified weaknesses. A pilot study to select the best technology to solve a Naval mission requirement was performed to assess the ability of the tool to: Enable informed decision making, assess differences in contributor mental models, and identify where there is or is not consensus. The method/tool was useful to these ends, warranting further research. Lessons learned were gathered and the validity of the approach was notionally examined, driving the identification of future work to be performed.

Harshman, Stephanie G., Emily G. Finnan, Kathryn J. Barger, et al. "Vegetables and Mixed Dishes Are Top Contributors to Phylloquinone Intake in US Adults: Data from the 2011-2012 NHANES." Journal of Nutrition 147, no. 7 (2017): 1308–13. http://dx.doi.org/10.3945/jn.117.248179.

Abstract:
Abstract Background: Phylloquinone is the most abundant form of vitamin K in US diets. Green vegetables are considered the predominant dietary source of phylloquinone. As our food supply diversifies and expands, the food groups that contribute to phylloquinone intake are also changing, which may change absolute intakes. Thus, it is important to identify the contributors to dietary vitamin K estimates to guide recommendations on intakes and food sources. Objective: The purpose of this study was to estimate 1) the amount of phylloquinone consumed in the diet of US adults, 2) to estimate the contribution of different food groups to phylloquinone intake in individuals with a high or low vegetable intake (≥2 or <2 cups vegetables/d), and 3) to characterize the contribution of different mixed dishes to phylloquinone intake. Methods: Usual phylloquinone intake was determined from NHANES 2011–2012 (≥20 y old; 2092 men and 2214 women) and the National Cancer Institute Method by utilizing a complex, stratified, multistage probability-cluster sampling design. Results: On average, 43.0% of men and 62.5% of women met the adequate intake (120 and 90 μg/d, respectively) for phylloquinone, with the lowest self-reported intakes noted among men, especially in the older age groups (51–70 and ≥71 y). Vegetables were the highest contributor to phylloquinone intake, contributing 60.0% in the high-vegetable-intake group and 36.1% in the low-vegetable-intake group. Mixed dishes were the second-highest contributor to phylloquinone intake, contributing 16.0% in the high-vegetable-intake group and 28.0% in the low-vegetable-intake group. Conclusion: Self-reported phylloquinone intakes from updated food composition data applied to NHANES 2011–2012 reveal that fewer men than women are meeting the current adequate intake. Application of current food composition data confirms that vegetables continue to be the primary dietary source of phylloquinone in the US diet. However, mixed dishes and convenience foods have emerged as previously unrecognized but important contributors to phylloquinone intake in the United States, which challenges the assumption that phylloquinone intake is a marker of a healthy diet. These findings emphasize the need for the expansion of food composition databases that consider how mixed dishes are compiled and defined.

Abstract:
A questionnaire survey of 85 counsellors investigated potential contributors to stress in the workplace and valued coping strategies. The sample consisted of three groups: a Government group, a Private group and a Religious group, which represented three different types of work organisation. Recent research suggests that organisational factors contribute to occupational stress, and that personal coping strategies may not alleviate stress appreciably. The results of the study indicated that the most stressed group was the Government group of counsellors, that the most highly rated contributor to stress was management attitudes and that the most valued coping strategies were organisational in nature rather than personal.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives Current intakes of fruits, vegetables and whole grains are lower than recommended levels with cost often cited as a barrier to increasing intake. This study evaluated current contributors to these food groups to determine the most cost-effective options within each food group. Analyses were also done to determine cost-effective contributors to underconsumed nutrients among foods and beverages contributing to these underconsumed food groups. Methods The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) 2013–2016 (N = 10,112 adults 19 + y) was analyzed for current contributors to fruit, vegetable and whole grain intakes. Prices of these foods and beverages were then calculated per cup (fruits and vegetables) or ounce equivalent (whole grains) using the USDA National Food Prices Database after adjustment for inflation. Prices for each food/beverage were also calculated for underconsumed micronutrients (vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, magnesium, iron, choline, zinc). Results The top five most cost-effective contributors to whole grain intakes were oatmeal, popcorn, rice, yeast breads and pasta/noodles/cooked grains; oatmeal was also a top 10 cost-effective contributor to vitamin A, magnesium, iron and zinc while rice was a top 10 cost-effective contributor to iron and zinc. For fruit the most cost-effective options were 100% apple juice, 100% citrus juice, bananas, apples and melons. Both 100% apple juice and 100% citrus juice were also in the top five cost-effective contributors to vitamin C. The five most cost-effective contributors to vegetables were white potatoes, mashed potatoes, lettuce/lettuce salads, carrots and string beans; carrots were also the top cost-effective contributor to vitamin A. Conclusions These data highlight the lowest cost contributors to underconsumed food groups in adults, most of which are rich in underconsumed micronutrients. These results should be communicated to the public to promote intake of fruits, vegetables and whole grains at minimal cost in order to improve overall diet quality. Abstract:
Purpose: The World Health Organization, recommends the Robson Ten Group Classification System (RTGCS) as a global standard for assessing, monitoring and comparing CS rates at both national and international levels. This study was aimed to analyze CS rate in Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology MTI, LRH, Peshawar; according to RTGCS. This will help understand the major contributory groups to the overall CS rate and to formulate strategies to optimize the escalating rates.
Methodology: A cross-sectional study for a period of 1 year from 1st January 2021 to 31st December 2021 was conducted at a tertiary care hospital located in the capital city of KPK Province, Pakistan. Women (n=7376) who delivered during the study period, fulfilling the inclusion/exclusion criteria were included. All relevant obstetric information was entered into a structured proforma. The study population was classified into Robson 10 groups and percentages were calculated for the overall CS rate, the representation of groups and contributions of the each group to the total CS rate.
Findings: A total of 7376 deliveries were analyzed as per RTGCS. Of these 1679 (22.76%) were caesarean sections. According to the criteria used, Group I & III represented more than half (53.75%) of the obstetric population. The major contributor to the overall CS rate was group V (Previous caesarean delivery, single, cephalic > or equal to 37weeks), followed by group I (Nulliparous, single, cephalic > or equal to 37 weeks, in spontaneous labour), group X (All singleton, cephalic, < 37 weeks gestation pregnancies-including previous CS) and group III.
Conclusion: The implementation of RTGCS at MTI, LRH, Peshawar helped to identify the contribution of each group to the overall CS rate. Group V was the leading contributor to the overall CS rate. This study also revealed a high rate of CS among low risk groups i.e. group I and III.
Recommendations: Current study can be used to compare results among the institutions at provincial and national levels to design uniform policies throughout the Pakistan to optimize CS rate. Furthermore, education for both pregnant women and obstetricians is required to encourage and promote ECV and VBAC to avoid repeat Caesarean sections. Moreover, the instrumental vaginal delivery should be encouraged where clinically indicated and justified

Abstract:
PurposeData were collected from a range of stakeholders in Northern Ireland including consumer representatives, policy makers and public health representatives. Data collection occurred in two phases: firstly via in-depth interviews (n = 19), and secondly via roundtables (n = 4) with stakeholders (n = 36) using nominal group technique.Design/methodology/approachFood poverty has been identified as a significant societal and public health problem in the UK, evidenced in part by published statistics on the prevalence of food poverty, and the well-documented increase in the uptake of food bank provision. This paper presents various theoretical perspectives regarding the aetiology of (food) poverty, followed by stakeholders' opinions on the contributors to food poverty and consideration of how these align with various theoretical perspectives.FindingsVarious individual, structural and political factors were identified by stakeholders as contributors to food poverty, with income largely agreed to be the most significant contributor. Two themes of contributors were identified during analysis: micro-level and individual-level contributors and macro-level and economic-level contributors. Structural factors were most commonly cited as contributors to food poverty during both stakeholder interviews and stakeholder roundtables, followed by individual factors and political factors.Practical implicationsUnderstanding the contributors to food poverty can inform targeted policy action.Originality/valueThere is a lack of theoretical and conceptual literature regarding the causes of food poverty, and there has to date been limited research on the contributors to food poverty in Northern Ireland/the United Kingdom.

Abstract:
Background: The present study was done to determine the relative contribution of each of ten groups of robson´s classification to overall cesarean section rate and identify modifiable group for intervention to reduce the cesarean rate. Methods: Retrospective review of record of cesarean section from the statistical Dept of Obstetrics and Gynecology sir T. hospital, Bhavnagar from January 2017 to October 2017 and classify them in to Robson´s ten group classification system to find out total number of cesarean among total number of delivery in above 10 months duration. Results: Total number of delivery in my study institute in 10 months was 3804 out of them 1182 was cesarean section, so the overall cesarean section rate in Sir T. hospital, Bhavnagar was 31%. Group 1 (Nulliparous, single cephalic, >37 weeks in spontaneous labor), 2 (Nulliparous, single cephalic, >37 weeks, induced or CS before labor) and 5 (Previous CS, single cephalic, >37 weeks) contributes for around 66% of total cesarean. Group 5 (Previous CS, single cephalic, >37 weeks) was the major contributor among all. Least common cause of cesarean was group 8 (All multiple pregnancies (including previous CS)) and group 9 (All abnormal lies including previous CS).Conclusions: Incidence of cesarean was more common with patient having previous cesarean section. So, to decrease cesarean rate trial of labour should be given to the patient who was suitable for vaginal birth after cesarean section. Adequate assessment of pelvis and giving trial to patient having borderline pelvis also decrease the rate of cesarean in primi gravid (group 1).

Abstract:
In this paper, inequality of global distribution of CO2 emissions by sector is studied across the regions considered by the UNDP in the year 2009. Firstly, the research is carried out using the Theil-Bourguignon inequality index which can be decomposed into the within-group and the between-group inequality components. The greatest inequality in CO2 emissions by sector occurs in regions that are formed by poor or developing countries. The results show also that the within-group inequality component is the main contributor to the whole inequality value. Secondly, the study is completed using the family of Generalized Entropy indexes, where the within-group inequality component is the main contributor to the whole inequality value too.

Abstract:
The challenge for businesses today is to operate efficiently and effectively by ensuring the availability of updated information necessary for business activities. At situations where daily operations require collaborative communication among staff working in dispersed locations - characterised by different time zones and working conditions - it is essential that the staff have and share common knowledge, especially since staff members may have diverse understandings and perceptions of an issue. In order to overcome such challenge in business, using the oil and gas industry as a case study, this research proposes a platform based on a Lightweight Community-driven approach whereby staff are presented with opportunities to raise and discuss a particular issue in a systematic manner. In addition, ontology is used to support the representation of domain knowledge in which evolution is expected as human knowledge is not static. The fundamental principle of the Lightweight Community-driven approach is to involve organisation personnel in an exchange of ideas and opinions that lead to a higher quality of output. Staff are categorised in two groups, the Contributor Group and the Admin Group, each of which has a different role and responsibility in the whole process of communication. Members of the Contributor Group are those who are actively participating in the discussion by raising issues, providing feedback, and voting on an issue. This group is responsible for the quality of the discussion result which includes reliability of the ontology. The Admin Group are tasked with the managerial aspects of discussion to ensure the eligibility of every participant.Ontology evolution, subsequently, takes place to incorporate the result of the discussion. When there is a need to revise the intended ontology, the current ontology will be improved and archived ontology is created. Otherwise, ontology will remain the same as it is considered relevant by employees of the oil and gas industry. The proposed platform is explained and validated in detail in this thesis. The outcomes of the collective efforts to improve the quality of information within the domain are: a decrease of day-to-day work, cost saving, increased productivity and the availability of a communication forum.

Abstract:
The globalisation of the economy has greatly contributed to the creation of groups of companies both nationally and internationally. The recognition of the group collective agreement by the judge, followed by the law of May 4th, 2004, has effected a partial adaption of French employment and labour law to its reality. In harmonising the employment standards and methodology enforced in the various entities composing the group, it has contributed to forging its identity. Even in considering only the agreements signed in France, many difficulties remain, whether about the conclusion of the agreement (scope? parties? content?) or its legal framework (enforcement and impact?). More so than strictly-national agreements, transnational ones give rise to complex questions, due to the difficulty in clearly defining their legal framework. Proposals herein are made in respect to the liberty and autonomy of the social partners

Abstract:

Background: In newspaper articles, we can nowadays read headlines as"Stop the robbing!"and"They pay extra tax through rent". A column in Göteborgsposten describes enormous amounts of money, pouring between municipal companies. Numerous of local newspapers have started to pay attention to their municipal companies and the transfer of profits from municipal housing enterprises and electric power companies. What are upsetting these journalists then? Both Hyresgästföreningen (The Swedish tenants’ association) and Boverket (The Swedish National Housing Board) indicate that the fiscal purpose of transactions within the group no longer is primary for municipalities. They allege that the transactions are improperly exploited by transferring inappropriate amounts of money from municipal housing enterprises.

Purpose: The purpose of this thesis is to map transactions between municipal group companies and also evaluate if they are consistent with the accounting regulation in the domain. Delimitation: The case study will have a geographical delimitation by only including the group of Linköpings Stadshus. The study will only include the years during 1997-2003. The transactions that will be examined are group contributions, shareholders’ contribution and dividend. The case study will also process the interest expense of the parent company because of the promissory note loan that was raised from the municipality of Linköping in connection with the formation of the group.

Realisation: In the form of a case study, the thesis was realised through the collection of annual reports, obtained from the companies concerned. These data was complemented through qualitative interviews with representatives from the parent company and the municipality. The complementation was made to increase the comprehension of the problems.

Results: The municipality is primarily using competition and focus in result as important factors when trying to imitate private companies. This does not harmonize with the purpose of the municipal transactions. It is also clear that municipal groups may be composing strategies dealing with empty the subsidiary companies out on capital. This applies particularly to electric power companies. In the case study, compared to a payment of tax, Tekniska Verken has not recovered enough shareholders’ contribution. With that, these companies financial position is clearly deteriorating compared to if they would pay tax. Regulations of housing enterprises were not created until 1999. That means that violations of the regulations were not possible before that either. Obviously, the groups were using this opportunity, and the dividend that has been discussed in the case study, is a clear example of the municipality not giving priority to the clients of the housing enterprise. Though, it is important to point out the legality of a dividend of that kind.

Starting from the observation that teachers in secondary schools usually have problems with groups of pupils, the object of this thesis is to understand how they think, imagine, groups, what constitutes their relation to groups. Studies about groups are first presented in the light of pedagogy and psychoanalysis. The method of research consists in clinical interviews (unstructured), entirely recorded and transcribed. The thesis presents the analysis of the singular discourse of ten teachers, with reference to psychoanalysis as a theory of the psyche. The last chapter puts to light some dimensions of the way the teachers who were interviewed relate to groups and on some dimensions of the way the teachers who were interviewed relate to groups and on some specific aspects of classes as groups in the school world

Abstract:
This thesis aims to contribute new understandings of community sustainability through a detailed case study of public sector and community relations within Cornwall. The Look Group Network is a multi-layered public sector and community adult informal learning partnership project which sought to connect Tate St Ives, a national art gallery operating in the far west of the UK, with new audiences. The case study situates together informal learning, community and sustainability and explores their interdependence. The study comprised participant observation with the Look Group members, semi-structured partner interviews, contextual research including a review of the social and political theory of community and an evaluation of relevant sustainable community and informal learning policy. The research aims to identify the underlying conditions which contributed to the sustainability of the Look Groups over a four year period and to assess to what extent these conditions could be transferred to other communities. The original contribution of this project to the existing research literature is in the application of Complexity Theory to empirical data to enable an understanding of the systemic dynamics that contribute to sustainability and in the development of method in the consideration of community and group dynamics.

Abstract:
This study in clinical psychology and psychopathology explores the extent of memory loss amongst the elderly. More specifically, it examines the mechanisms underlying memory loss and the effects of this mental condition on both the patient and the patient's relationships. Another aspect of our research is to develop new therapeutic techniques using group psychodrama which gives us greater insight on the possibilities of treatments for memory loss dementia patients. The psychic functions are facilitated by group therapy which boosts the abilities of memory by volume, capacity and participation in dementia subjects. By looking at the body, the affects and motor skill, permit us to see the physical traits, the non-verbal traits and continue working to better their performance. In the psyche of the group we can see that this approach establishes a joint ability to recollect in the present; we are speaking about the intersubjectivity of collective memory. As we see it, memory loss dementia appears as an adaptive attempt by the subject confronted with disorganizational dementia. We can distinguish two forms of memory loss; one in which the end result attacks the traces of memory and provokes an unraveling of the ability to remember and a progressive form which reduces the associative links between the different forms of remembrance and cuts for a time the ability of memory to link to other senses

What is a distribution network ? The question may surprise a few given the acceptance of the notion. However, we have to notice that this notion has not reached its quest of identity. The first part of the research aims at verifying the founding principles of each theory. Actually, it appears that the distribution network finds its place beyond the group of contracts qualification and below the qualification of Institution. Based on a group of contracts, it reveals its institutional aspects through the existence of private standards, relations of power and the sharing of an identity. These elements invite to see a community there organized around a public interest having an existence different from that of the members. Nevertheless, the analysis of the distribution network prevents from considering that it constitutes such a community. From then on, the research for the legal nature of the distribution network allows to move forward that this notion is inflexible in the existing legal categories. The second part of the research aims at asserting the particularisms of the notion of distribution network. The distribution network is characterized by an original synergy. Its legal regime builds itself on an arbitration between the diverse interests concerned by the existence of this structure. These reports allow to move forward that it constitutes a notion convenient to the elaboration of a legal category gathering multipartite organization, based on a group of contracts and a relationship without subordination, that are symbolized by a synergy that involves the allocation of material and human resources to the simultaneous development of both the global economic activity and the activity of each member of the group, creating a synergy between their different but convergent own personal interests, source of mutual interest

Culotta, Fabrizio. "A Prospective Sustainability Indicator for Pension Systems." In Proceedings e report. Firenze University Press, 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.36253/978-88-5518-461-8.39.

Abstract:
This work proposes an informative system to monitor pension systems by integrating pension and labor market statistics. This more comprehensive system is used to build an indicator to measure prospectively the sustainability of pension systems. The set of indicators is divided into two groups, each tracking pension contributions and payments flows. Each flow is composed by the product of three statistics: a statistics for the extensive margin, i.e. how many contributors and retirees, one for the intensive margin, i.e. how much workers contribute and pensioners receive pensions, and one for the durational margin, i.e. for how long workers contribute and retirees receive pensions. As such, the statistical content is coherent with the set of pension indicators considered by Eurostat and OECD. Statistics are extracted from Eurostat database and ensure cross-country comparability. The advantage of this approach is twofold. Firstly, it allows reflecting specificities of each pension regimes, characterized by own specific contribution rules and pension formulas, without explicitly account for them. Secondly, it allows to relate the assessment of sustainability of pension systems to the dynamics of labor markets since it explicitly takes into account the distribution of wages, the duration of working life, the distribution of old-age pensions and the life expectancy at retirement. An application on a pool of seven European countries (Austria, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands) is provided for the period 2015 - 2019. The indicator for the prospective sustainability of pension systems is compared across two other alternatives to stress the contribution of each margin. These alternatives are then compared with a benchmark indicator and their correlations are measured.

Abstract:
Computer Aided Design (CAD) software can be difficult to learn. A major contributor to this entry barrier is CAD interfaces’ usage of symbols associated with CAD operations. This paper studies which symbols minimize recall time and optimize retention via two studies. We performed an initial exploratory study to identify which 2D symbols intuitively describe common CAD operations. Then we conducted a second study with three separate groups using different input methods to test which input method improves retention and recall time. Each group used one of three input methods: choosing preexisting Autodesk CAD operation symbols, choosing our 2D symbols derived from the symbol study, and physically drawing those same symbols. We measured participants’ accuracy and time spent on each question. The results indicated that there is a decrease in the time taken to submit responses, which correlates to recall time. The group physically drawing the symbols improved the most compared to the group selecting the symbol study symbols and the group selecting Autodesk operation icons. For retention, as measured by correctness, our statistical analysis indicates that there does not appear to be a significant difference between the three groups.

Abstract:
Using continuous flow electrophoresis (CFE) normal human platelets have been separated into a surface-charge dependent profile (roughly gaussian) extending over 15-20 fractions with an electrophoretic mobility range between 0.86 and 0.93 μmetres/sec Volt cm. The technique has also been used to study platelets from adult patients with Stable Essential Thrombocythaemia (platelet counts - 600-800 × 109/L) and chronic Idiopathic Thrombocytopaenia (counts 15-80 × l09/L). Neither group was receiving specific therapy during the investigations. The platelets from both patient groups showed significant anodal shifts in electrophoretic mobilities in comparison with the CFE profiles from normal adults. Sialic acid, a negatively charged sugar moiety, associated with membrane glycoproteins is a major contributor to the platelet surface electronegativity and both total platelet sialic acid and surface neuraminidase-labile sialic acid measurements were made using the thiobarbituric acid procedure. Platelets from the Idiopathic Thrombocytopaenic group showed (with respect to normal levels) significant increases in both total and neuraminidase-labile sialic acid (expressed in terms of platelet number). Platelets from the Essential Thrombocythaemic group did not differ significantly in sialic acid contents from platelets from normal subjects. Platelet sizes (Coulter counter volumes) were also measured across the normal and patient platelet electrophoretic profiles together with morphological monitoring. In platelets from ITP patients these more electronegative platelets were substantially larger and of more bizarre shapes than those of normal patients when viewed with scanning and transmission electron microscopy, whereas platelets from the Essential Thrombocythaemic group showed less significant volume increases. These findings of marked changes in platelet surface electrokinetic and analytical properties in patients with the two disorders suggest that studies in other disease states, involving disturbances of thrombokinetics, may be warranted and particularly should be followed through therapeutic programmes.

Abstract:
The construction industry of Trinidad and Tobago has been, for decades, a direct indicator of national development and contributor to economic growth. The associated problems of the industry as experienced by contractors negatively impacts project performance and success. This study identified the most common problems experienced by contractors and assessed these to determine their level of significance and importance to projects. Employing a survey questionnaire and analytical methods using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS), 43 problems were identified, classified into seven (7) factor groups: Financial, Managerial, Environmental, Labour Based, Resource Based Owner Based and Project Based that were ranked on their level of significance and importance. The top ten (10) problems were found to be delay of payments, design, scope and material changes, working in high risk areas, lack of feasibility and brief, corruption, lack of contractor’s experience, bureaucracy, geological problems, contractor’s finances and cash flow. These problems represent the Financial, Managerial, Environmental, Project Based and Owner Based factor groups with financial factors being the highest rated group of adverse effect and significance. Highlighting the findings of this study, the preferred solution to mitigate against the adverse impact indicative of the construction problems experienced were presented. These solutions can be implemented to reduce the adverse effects on projects, promoting sustainable construction practices in the construction industry of Trinidad & Tobago.

Abstract:
Building a digital language archive requires a number of steps to ensure collecting, describing, preserving, and providing access to language data in effective and efficient ways. The Computational Resource for South Asian Languages (CoRSAL) group has partnered with the University of North Texas (UNT) Digital Library to build a series of interconnected digital collections that leverage existing UNT technical and metadata infrastructure to provide access to data from and for various language communities. This article introduces the reader to the background of this project and discusses some of the important for representing language materials areas where UNT metadata has needed flexibility to better fit the needs of intended audiences. These areas include a workflow for standardized language representation (the Language field), defining roles for persons related to the item (Creator and Contributor fields), and representing interconnections between related items (the Relation field). Although further work is needed to improve language data representation in the CoRSAL digital language archive, we believe the model adopted by our team and lessons learned could benefit others in the language archiving community.

Abstract:
Emotions have a huge impact on people in various ways. Learning ability, behaviour, and judgment are substantially influenced by Emotion (Analysis & Signals, 2017). Recent clinical studies have shown that positive emotion regulation in daily life has the advantage of preventing and solving health risks (e.g., reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease). Many previous studies illustrate that emotions have their own role, which shows that there are no good or bad emotions. Emotion itself is an important signal indicating a person's well-being. In the case of negative emotions, they can enrich the consumer experience (Desmet, 2010; Desmet, Fokkinga, Ozkaramanli, & Yoon, 2021): for instance, they play a very important role in human security. However, designers generally want products that elicit only good or pleasant emotions to affect users' emotions. Various emotions are indispensable for a person's well-being. Therefore, this paper explores how negative and positive emotions in interacting with the product are related to our happiness and life satisfaction. For this, a diary study was conducted to determine whether emotions provided by the product affect people's happiness and life satisfaction. Six participants were recruited and they participated in a three-week diary study. They were asked to rate their emotions with everyday products and also how the emotions contributed to their life satisfaction as well as happiness. An in-depth interview was conducted with their dairy. A total of 216 products were reported from the diary study, and related emotions were categorized into three groups: positive emotion, positive-negative emotion, and negative emotion. It was statistically analyzed how each group is correlated with their well-being and life satisfaction. The results indicate that only positive emotion is a major contributor to their well-being and life satisfaction than positive-negative emotion. The findings highlight that the more positive emotions are provided, the higher the user's happiness which can lead to an increase in life satisfaction. It was found that there is a discrepancy between findings from previous studies and those of our study. The implications and limitations of the study are discussed in the end.

Abstract:
Marksmanship is a primary contributor to the military’s quantification of Soldier lethality. Traditionally, Soldiers are graded using a standard marksmanship qualification task, assessing hit location and target distance. Additional components (e.g., weapon handling, timing) are not incorporated. This research developed a comprehensive marksmanship scoring method, focused on fundamental and operational marksmanship skills. A scoring index facilitates the understanding of the entire operational marksmanship process, from target detection to acquisition/engagement. Analysis of this tradespace helps improve training and can be utilized as a metric of performance for equipment evaluations. This novel scoring method includes all aspects of the marksmanship process divided into three components, including lethality (e.g., accuracy, precision, decision making), mobility (e.g., target acquisition time), and weapons handling (e.g., stability, trigger control). Utilizing marksmanship data from 16 Soldier volunteers (8 experts and 8 novices) on a static and dynamic shooting scenario, outcomes were normalized to distribute the variables’ two anchor scores. Weights were assigned to each metric that contributed to the combined scores. Weightings were determined utilizing a Student’s t-test pairwise comparison of means of the expert and novice scores for each metric. Components with highly statistically significant differences (p < .01) between the expert and novice were weighted more importantly and those with less difference (p < .05) were weighted less importantly. Weighted indices were applied to a marksmanship dataset of normally distributed skill level Infantry Soldiers (N = 46). This verification ensured that weightings created a normal distribution across the group, while assessing fundamentals and operational marksmanship skills. These new performance indices provide a single overarching score, representative of various aspects of marksmanship beyond simple shot coordinates, resulting in a performance metric that is easier for the end-user to comprehend. Future application of this scoring method are valuable for both training and acquisition test and evaluation performance assessments.
