Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to determine if teacher effectiveness, as measured by value-added gain scores on student achievement, was related to the teacher personality characteristics of efficacy and locus of control. The value-added mean gain scores for each teacher were correlated with teachers' scores on the Rand Corporation Efficacy Scale and the Rose and Medway Teacher Locus of Control Scale. A multiple regression analysis was used to determine if these teacher characteristics along with selected demographic variables could be used as good predictors of achievement gain. The population

Minority students are lagging behind their non-minority peers in academic achievement. Compounding this problem is the lack of research on minority students' perceptions on their connections to school, their feelings of autonomy, and their relationship with their parents. These variables are important considerations in this problem, as Ryan and Deci's self-determination theory suggests a strong relationship between student performance in school and students' perceptions of their intrinsic and extrinsic motivators. Abstract:

This study was born out of a concern that U.S. community colleges were currently using or considering using noncognitive variables for academic placement without an understanding of how students would react to these scales in a high-stakes setting. While the use of noncognitive variables for placement often stems from a desire to overcome the myriad of limitations of content-based placement tests, the researcher was concerned that noncognitive variables had the potential to become an extension of the problems caused by the test.

This study was guided by two research questi

Planar two-link manipulators are among the most accessible two-degree-of-freedom robots for students because they function like human arms. As a result they are ideal for laboratory teaching environments. While previous designs using belt-driven arms served adequately, this new design possesses a number of features that w

Bakalauro darbe siekiama ištirti pradinių klasių mokinių, turinčių didelių ir labai didelių specialiųjų ugdymosi poreikių, pasiekimus naminių gyvulių pažinimo srityje. Tyrime dalyvavo pradinių lavinamųjų klasių mokiniai, kuriems nustatytas vidutinis ir žymus intelekto sutrikimas. Interviu dalyvavo pedagogai, ugdantys mokinius, turinčius didelių ir labai didelių specialiųjų ugdymosi poreikių. Iš viso apklausti 30 mokinių ir 6 pedagogai. Buvo parengtas tyrimo instrumentas – klausimynas. Individualia anketine apklausa siekta atskleisti mokinių požiūrį į naminius gyvulius, turimas gamtamokslines
