Abstract:
The sense and modern scientific approaches to the notion of “convergence” are substantiated in the paper; its role is described in the process of development of territories, in particular of bordering regions and neighboring states as a whole. It is underlined, that that a brand new construction of economic equilibrium and rapprochement of certain economic systems, economic and social policies of different states is formed on the base of convergent relations. It is proved, that convergent processes have to take place both inside of the state and at bordering territories of neighboring states, which form crossborder region and are decisive for processes of integration in general.

Abstract:
A critical review of neoclassical and new economic theories on their correspondence to empirical results for economic development has been made. In the light of these theories, three leading hypotheses for convergence have been considered -- "unconditional β-convergence", "conditional β-convergence" and "club convergence". An assessment was made, for the existence of economic convergence in the EU countries at different levels EU-28, EU-15 and the new member states of Central and Eastern Europe, for the period 2007 - 2017 Based on the obtained results, some summaries and conclusions are made.

Abstract:
This study investigates the convergence mechanism of Dohsa-hou and psychomotorik with the motto of movement according to the changes of the times due to the rise of the 4th industrial revolution of creativity and convergence with the motto of movement according to the changes of the times due to the rise of the 4th industrial revolution of creativity and convergence. Therefore, the theoretical and practical contents of Dohsa-hou and psychomotorik were examined, and the possibility of convergence was explored through the ultimate purpose and direction pursued by the two theories. This study found common ground between the two theories to find out the possibility of convergence between the two, proving their effectiveness in the field of educational practice. Through prior research on the two theories and analysis of practical clinical processes, five common points were found as core values, characteristics, and adjustment methods of the two theories. They are the commonality of self-directed approach through self-regulation, the commonalities of exercise-based education, a general approach as a dynamic relationship between the body and mind, the commonalities of education through experience, and the common point of applying the principle of physical contact. Based on the five commonalities, the possibility of convergence of the two theories is sufficient. Exploring the possibility of convergence between the two theories is only an academic curiosity and an enterprising idea as a scholar who combines the two theories in the process of mediating and supporting the educational subject.

Abstract: The present paper proposes the artifact as theory perspective which draws together models of scientific practice and design behaviour and in so doing, offers the view of any information technology system as a conjecture on the part of the design team of human and organizational requirements to be met. By adopting this perspective, information system design can be seen as an ill-structured problem best tackled by usercentered theories and methods. The present paper will outline this perspective, emphasizing the need for convergence of views at the outset of design, and demonstrate the advantages it offers to both the theory and practice of technology design and the field of information science.

Abstract:
This thesis is concerned with the possible sums of perturbation series in mass- less, renormalizable field theories. It shows that, given a free choice of scheme, the limit of the sequence of approximants is arbitrary. Restricting the choice to finite schemes, in particular "zero schemes", yields a perturbatively unique limit to the sequence of approximants. An operational method for calculating perturbative expansions in the class of zero schemes is discussed. A comparison of various optimization schemes is given for a few phenomenological examples in QCD and QED.

Bien que n'ayant ni les mêmes résultats ni les mêmes traditions en matière de protection sociale, la France, l'Espagne et les Pays-Bas ont tous mis en œuvre des réformes d'" activation " de leurs politiques sociales dans les années 2000. Ces réformes ont-elles été guidées par des objectifs et des attendus comparables ? " L'activation " a-t-elle eu des effets similaires sur les systèmes de protection sociale ? S'ils sont similaires, les changements communs peuvent-ils être imputés à des facteurs communs ? La thèse traite ces trois questions principales en adoptant une approche théorique et méthodologique attentive aux facteurs sociaux et cognitifs du changement en matière de politiques sociales. En croisant l'étude des dispositifs publics et des textes officiels avec des entretiens semi-directifs réalisés dans quatre pays et à plusieurs niveaux de gouvernement (n=71), l'analyse comparée des réformes sociales " actives " permet de tirer deux conclusions principales : les cadres cognitifs, les instruments et les objectifs des politiques sociales tendent à se rapprocher sous l'effet des réformes d'" activation " menées dans les années 2000 en France en Espagne et aux Pays-Bas, et cette convergence a été favorisée par des mécanismes communautaires mis en œuvre dans le cadre de la Stratégie Européenne pour l'Emploi.

Abstract:
In this thesis, we first obtain coincidence and common fixed point theorems for a pair of generalized non-expansive type mappings in a normed space. Then we discuss two types of convergence theorems, namely, the convergence of Mann iteration procedures and the convergence and stability of fixed points. In addition, we discuss the viscosity approximations generated by (ψ ,ϕ)-weakly contractive mappings and a sequence of non-expansive mappings and then establish Browder and Halpern type convergence theorems on Banach spaces. With regard to iteration procedures, we obtain a result on the convergence of Mann iteration for generalized non-expansive type mappings in a Banach space which satisfies Opial's condition. And, in the case of stability of fixed points, we obtain a number of stability results for the sequence of (ψ,ϕ)- weakly contractive mappings and the sequence of their corresponding fixed points in metric and 2-metric spaces. We also present a generalization of Fraser and Nadler type stability theorems in 2-metric spaces involving a sequence of metrics.

In this Bachelor's thesis we present a few results about the absolute convergence of Fourier series, followed by an example of a differentiable function whose Fourier series does not converge absolutely. In the end we provide a suggestion for future work on generalizing the given example, and we briefly discuss an issue that has not been given much attention in the existing literature on the subject.

Il est relié aux propriétés d'autosimilarité et de régularité des trajectoires du processus. C'est donc un paramètre très pertinent à prendre en compte dans une étude statistique. Le but de notre thèse est de donner des conditions sur un processus gaussien X, qui sont vérifiées dans le cas des processus fractionnaires, et qui permettent de trouver une normalisation rendant sa variation quadratique du second ordre presque sûrement convergente et asymptotiquement normale. Comme dans le cas du mouvement brownien fractionnaire, notre étude permet de construire une "bonne" estimation de certains paramètres des processus fractionnaires considérés. Pour cela nous considérerons la statistique usuelle associée à la variation quadratique du second ordre
If X is a fractional process, there exists a parameter H(X), which may be a vector or a function. This parameter is related to the properties of self-similarity of X and to the regularity of its trajectories. Therefore it is a relevant quantity which must be taken into account in a statistical study. The purpose of our PhD thesis is to yield conditions on a Gaussian processes X, which are satisfied in the case of fractional processes, and which enable to find a normalization returning its second order quadratic variation almost surely convergent and asymptotically normal. As in the case of the fractional Brownian motion, our work enables to construct a “good” estimation of some parameters of the considered fractional processes. For that we consider the usual statistic associated to the second order quadratic variation

Abstract In Gate Theatre studies, the venue’s original artistic directors, Hilton Edwards and Micheál mac Liammóir, are commonly described as ‘Englishmen’. This chapter breaks new ground by exploring the Irish roots of Edwards and mac Liammóir, and the rumours that mac Liammóir had Spanish and Jewish ancestry. ‘The Boys’ were not the only figures associated with the early Gate to have transnational backgrounds. Coralie Carmichael, the theatre’s biggest female star in its early years, was of mixed Moroccan and Scottish ancestry, and Nancy Beckh, who worked as an actor, costume designer and milliner at the Gate between 1932 and 1956, was a Dubliner of half-German descent. Using critical theories around new interculturalism, the chapter suggests that the mixed backgrounds of these artists helped them to create intercultural performances. It further demonstrates that these performances cannot be simply dismissed as those of people condescendingly engaging in cultural imperialism or shallow cosmopolitanism.

Abstract:
This paper offers three-dimensional (3-D) vibration frequency solutions for low aspect ratio compressor blades. The Ritz method is used to minimize the 3-D elasticity-based dynamical energies with displacements approximated by mathematically complete polynomials satisfying the clamped boundary conditions exactly. The accuracy of the method is established by a convergence study explicitly showing the influence of solution determinant size. Several tables are presented which show the variation of natural frequencies with twist angle in the presence of skewness of low aspect ratio compressor blades. Results obtained using the present Ritz method are used to elucidate those frequency solutions which are inaccessible using beam, plate and shell theories, since kinematic constraints associated with these theories are eliminated in the present 3-D approach.

Abstract:
Artificial Potential Field (APF) theory is a unique branch of robotic path planning, which could be capable of handling the need for high dimensional robotic obstacle avoidance. However, APF theories have general performance issues which often make them undesirable in application. This research analyzes the Secant Approach; an algorithm developed to follow the APF style of path planning, but which has guaranteed convergence and obstacle avoidance properties in n-dimensional space. Using a unique potential function, the Secant Approach can guarantee a global minimum at the target while provably eliminating local minimums at other locations. Also, a control scheme has been developed which has guaranteed convergence properties. The Secant Approach is therefore capable of guiding various forms of robotic applications to target positions in n-dimensional space, making the theory a powerful path planning tool. This analysis examines the structure of the Secant Approach and extends the theory to include variable radius, solid obstacles.

Abstract:
The piezoelectric ceramic, Lead Zirconate Titanate (PZT), is capable of producing large voltages in response to an applied mechanical stress when employed in a laminate manufactured using the THUNDER process. This study addresses the issue of optimizing mechanical parameters in a PZT unimorph to maximize charge generated due to mechanical strain. The PZT unimorph structure is initially curved and generates a surface charge when vertically loaded. In the analysis, the principles of shallow shell and linear piezoelectric laminate theories are employed to obtain an expression for charge in terms of geometry, material properties and loading. Analytical relationships are then derived that can be used to optimize the charge produced from these generators. Numerical parametric studies are then conducted to maximize the charge generation by manipulating dimensions of the components. Experimental results show a “convergence” to a theoretically predicted ‘applied force vs. deformation’ relationship when the PZT unimorph is subjected to a pressure load. Finally, a charge collecting circuitry for harvesting the charge produced is designed and presented.

Abstract:
Large-amplitude nonlinear forced vibrations of a circular cylindrical panel with a complex base, clamped at the edges are investigated. The Sanders-Koiter and the Donnell nonlinear shell theories are used to calculate the strain energy; in-plane inertia is retained. A mesh-free technique based on classic approximate functions and the R-function theory is used to build the discrete model of the nonlinear vibrations. This allows for constructing the sequences of admissible functions that satisfy given boundary conditions in domains with complex geometries. The problem is solved in two steps: a linear analysis is conducted to identify natural frequencies and corresponding natural modes to be used in the second step as a basis for nonlinear displacements. The system of ordinary differential equations is obtained by using the Lagrange approach on both steps. Numerical responses are obtained in the spectral neighborhood of the lowest natural frequency. The convergence of nonlinear responses is investigated.

Abstract:
In 2014, UK higher education institutions implemented a new system for assessing the quality of research, the Research Excellence Framework (REF) and took the opportunity to introduce "impact beyond academia" as a 'new' assessment criterion. Transformation and innovation-oriented R&I policy are roughly similar in Norway and the Netherlands regarding underlying ideas as well as timing. In occasion of this convergence this article tackles the discursive and performative construction of “societal impact” as a metamorphic constantly changing, transforming, and evolving criterion. Using data from policy documents from the UK, the Netherlands, and Norway from 2014 until now, the comparative semantic analysis draws on theories of speech acts and performativity to reveal the dual effect (normalising and norming) of the discursive device by R&I policymakers. The resulting typology, based on four criteria (terminology, positive and negative valences, oikonomia of knowledge and policy slogan), sets the ground for the exploration of further dimensions of societal impact evaluation challenges.
