Since last few decades, the extensive underutilization has been found in canal irrigation. This issue constitutes the serious lacuna in irrigational planning which often depicts the major problem about optimal water use. As per FAO Aquastat 2015 records for India, out of 91% of water utilized for agriculture purpose, 45% is getting lost under different types of conveyance losses from dam headworks till farms. The conveyance losses constitute the seepage and evaporation losses. Out of these, seepage is a quite significant loss in most of the water conveyance systems. Estimating conveyance losse

With an increase in the corrosion loss of the guides, the inertia moment of the cross-section is reduced. The resistance of profiles to local buckling is als

Conventional drug delivery systems have various hindrances like loss of medication and poor bioavailability of drugs. Polymer-based nanocarriers such as polymeric nanoparticles upgrade bioavailability of drug, delivery of drug to specific site and improve solubility of drugs. They are widely explored as controlled, precise, sustained and continuous release systems for drug delivery and are easily incorporated and appropriate for practically all parts of nanomedicines and bring new trust in field of drug conveyance by redesigning drug viability and diminishing drug toxicity. Abstract:
Almost all of the water needs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, which has limited water resources, have been met from groundwater resources in the past, and the usable groundwater potential of the island has decreased over the years due to excessive water withdrawal and the entry of seawater into the underground aquifer. Although many facilities have been constructed to solve the water supply problem in the TRNC, these facilities have been insufficient in terms of quantity and water quality to meet the water needs of the TRNC. In order to achieve a long-term solution to the Cyprus water supply issue, the “TRNC Water Supply Project”, which is based on the uninterrupted transfer of water to the TRNC through pipes, has been implemented. “TRNC Water Supply Project”, called the “Project of the Century”, is one of the prestige projects for our country and nation. Within the scope of the project, 75 million m3 of water per year from the Alaköprü Dam built on the Anamur Dragon Stream is transferred to the Geçitköy Dam in the TRNC through land and sea conveyance lines. The annual 75 million m3 of water to be supplied from Turkey will be used for drinking water and irrigation purposes. Within the scope of drinking water projects, drinking water facilities have been constructed to ensure the delivery of water to all settlements in the TRNC, a distribution system above world standards with a loss-leakage rate of less than 1% has been established, the Drinking Water Treatment Plant with a capacity of 200,000 m3/day has been put into operation and the people of TRNC have been provided with drinking water at world standards and have reached the spring quality water of the Taurus Mountains instead of the salty water supplied from wells. Within the scope of irrigation projects; with the irrigation facilities built and under construction, approximately 97.200 decares of agricultural land in the fertile plains of the TRNC will have the modern irrigation systems they have been longing for years and will be fertile with sprinkler and drip irrigation. With the completion of irrigation systems, the cultivation of strategic products, diversification of plant patterns, increased productivity and income, employment opportunities and an increase in quality of life and welfare will be achieve

Some white folks were playing a highhanded game on their colored brethren and led grantees to worthless lots and charged them royally for the deception, urging them to sell their gift deeds for pennies. The chapter details how grantees who could not read or write risked getting fleeced if their paperwork was not in order. Abstract In the common law, the recovery of things to which another has title is mediated through the law of torts. Whether the plaintiff can recover a thing that he no longer possesses, but once had title to, may depend upon whether he has transferred his title to another. In the common law, the transfer of title to goods may be dependent upon the validity of the contract that does that conveyance. Title to things may be lost in a number of ways: mixture, accession, and manufacture into a new thing. In principle, it is not possible, at common law, to become automatically entitled to a right for which your right is substituted without your authority (ie there is no ‘common law tracing’). None of these rules concerning the assertion to title to things, including cash, is best conceptualised in terms of unjust enrichment.

Abstract Several Yiddish and bilingual Hebrew-Yiddish wedding songs are known from the early modern period. Although it is safe to assume that their greater part has been lost, the existing material allows defining both, recurrent themes and changes in topics sung about. As this chapter uncovers, wedding songs promoted and also mirrored trends in the development of muser, mineg, and hanhoge (ethics, custom, and conduct) in Ashkenaz. Functionally, they served not only as entertainment, but first and foremost as vehicles for the conveyance of social, religious, and ethical norms of premodern Ashkenazic society. Especially in light of the new status of the couple within the community they were authoritative tools of societal “normativization” and part of the greater attempt of “streamlining” Ashkenazim and especially women into conformity within new sets of social norms and regulations, including a shift in singing practices. While the singing of women for bride (and groom) was common during the early modern period, it slowly disappeared, finally to be substituted in most functions by the performance of professional male wedding singers.

Abstract:
This study aimed to investigate the effect of external water pressure on the construction of shields in complex loess geological conditions. The Hanjiang to Weihe River Water Diversion Project water conveyance tunnel was used as an engineering case, and a seepage-mechanics coupling model was developed using Phase2 finite difference software. The model was based on the geological parameters of typical tunnel sections in Bailu Tableland. The results of the calculations indicate that the external water pressure outside the lining is distributed unevenly, with high pressure on the lower side of the tunnel, low pressure on the upper side, and equal pressure on the left and right sides. The maximum external water pressure of the lining increases significantly with the rise of the underground water level. Although the maximum principal stress of the segment structure decreases as the underground water level increases, the difference between the maximum and minimum values is only 1.015 times. The maximum deformation and the maximum principal stress of the surrounding rock increase with the distance between the underground water level and the caving roof but are not sensitive to changes in the groundwater level. As the surrounding rock in the collapsible loess stratum lacks self-stability, its overall displacement remains high even after lining is applied. Therefore, appropriate measures need to be taken during construction to prevent potential environmental and hydrogeological issues.

Abstract:
Abstract Restitution has been thought to be reducible to a single ‘unjust enrichment’ principle. This in turn has been divided into four distinct questions. Is the defendant enriched? Is the enrichment at the expense of the plaintiff? Is the enrichment unjust? Does the defendant have any defence? These questions have been treated as independent of one another, as constituent parts of a cause of action independent of other areas of law. The negative purpose of this work is to show that this is misleading. The positive purpose is to distinguish the different principles governing the various claims there are. In particular, it looks at: payments made that are not due, and cognate cases such as the rendering and acceptance of a service that is unjustified; a performance rendered conditionally under an agreement, where the condition has failed; the discharge of an obligation properly borne by another; why claims for salvage, general average, and other examples of ‘necessitous intervention’ are justifiable; how the right to things may be lost through accession, mixture, specification, and conveyance; when and why obligations to (re-)transfer rights give rise to constructive and resulting trusts, and how equitable tracing and subrogation can be explained; the limited circumstances in which a gain-based remedy for wrongdoing is possible; when and why the different defences applicable to the different kinds of claim arise; and the impact of illegality on claims for restitution.

Irrigation delivery organizations play an important role in the agricultural sector, particularly in the Western United States where nearly half of all water applied as irrigation comes from an off-farm source.
