Abstract:
Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) are widely used as a proxy for bathymetric data and several studies have attempted to improve DEM accuracy for hydrodynamic (HD) modeling. Most of these studies attempted to quantitatively improve estimates of channel conveyance (assuming a non-braided morphology) rather than accounting for the actual channel planform. Accurate representation of river conveyance and planform in a DEM is critical to HD modeling and can be achieved with a combination of remote sensing (e.g., satellite image) and field data, such as water surface elevation (WSE). Therefore, the objectives of this study are (i) to develop an algorithm for predicting channel conveyance and characterizing planform via satellite images and in situ WSE and (ii) to estimate discharge using the predicted conveyance via an HD model. The algorithm is named River Bathymetry via Satellite Image Compilation (RiBaSIC) and uses Landsat satellite imagery, Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) DEM, Multi-Error-Removed Improved-Terrain (MERIT) DEM, and observed WSE. The algorithm is tested on four study areas along the Willamette River, Kushiyara River, Jamuna River, and Solimoes River. Channel slope and predicted hydraulic radius are subsequently estimated for approximating Manning’s roughness factor. Two-dimensional HD models using DEMs modified by the RiBaSIC algorithm and corresponding Manning’s roughness factors are employed for discharge estimation. The proposed algorithm can represent river planform and conveyance in single-channeled, meandering, wandering, and braided river reaches. Additionally, the HD models estimated discharge within 14–19% relative root mean squared error (RRMSE) in simulation of five years period.

Abstract:
In order to realize the work of goods conveyance etc. by robot, localization of robot position is fundamental technology component. Map matching methods is one of the localization technique. In map matching method, usually, to create the map data for localization, we have to operate the robot and measure the environment (teaching run). This operation requires a lot of time and work. In recent years, due to improved Internet services, aerial image data is easily obtained from Google Maps etc. Therefore, we utilize the aerial images as a map data to for mobile robots localization and navigation without teaching run. In this paper, we proposed the robot localization and navigation technique using aerial images. We verified the proposed technique by the localization and autonomous running experiment.

Abstract:
Resulta, pues, insuficiente si no se complementa con otros canales no verbales que transmiten atributos asociados al carisma.____________________________The creation and conveyance of a specific media image related to previously defined objectives require a strategic communication plan, of which Protocol is a fundamental part. This research contributes to demonstrate how the protocol criteria of space, hierarchy and symbolic scenery affect a leader´s image. It is concluded that the leader conveys control, dominance, authority and power through the respect of the protocol rules. However, protocol does not take into account many remarkable aspects of the strategic control of the politician´s image. Subsequently, this research proposes that it should be complemented with channels of the non-verbal language in charge of conveying the qualities linked to charisma.

Abstract:
The radiology report is the culmination of image acquisition, meticulous interpretation, and the generation of deliberate and thoughtful recommendations. It is essentially a translation of images into words, and as such must convey as much pertinent detail needed by the clinician in as concise a format as possible. Several important factors affect the overall quality of the finished report. Active voice helps to convey information more confidently, and in a manner that is easier to read and understand. The use of several words and phrases is frowned upon, as it makes the radiologist sound uncertain. The manner in which the impression is stated can significantly influence the ordering physician's decision as to whether to follow the radiologist's recommendations. Critical findings must be promptly communicated to the appropriate health care provider, and documented in the final report. By following the guidelines illustrated in this article, radiologists will learn how to create a perfected report, which will be concise, convey important findings while answering the clinical question posed, and will be favorably viewed by the requesting physician.

Abstract:
Safe conveyance of medical data across unsecured networks nowadays is an essential issue in telemedicine. With the exponential growth of multimedia technologies and connected networks, modern healthcare is a huge step ahead. Authentication of a diagnostic image obtained from a specialist at a remote location which is from the sender is one of the most challenging tasks in an automated healthcare setup. Intruders were found to be able to efficiently exploit securely transmitted messages from previous literature since the algorithms were not efficient enough leading to distortion of information. Therefore, this study proposed a modified least significant bit (LSB) technique capable of protecting and hiding medical data to solve the crucial authentication issue. The application was executed and established by utilizing MATLAB 2018a, and it used a logical bit shift operation for execution. The investigational outcomes established that the proposed technique can entrench medical information without leaving a perceptible falsification in the stego image. The result of this implementation shows that the modified LSB image steganography outperformed the standard LSB technique with a higher PSNR value and lower MSE value when compared with previous research works. The number of shifts was added as a new performance metric for the proposed system. The study concluded that the proposed secured medical information system was evidenced to be proficient in secreting medical information and creating undetectable stego images with slight entrenching falsifications when likened to other prevailing approaches.

Abstract:
It is difficult to keep the precise conveyance in film discontinuous winding system, while there are no etch or print marks on the transparent film. Based on dark field illumination theory, a micro-indentation detection method is proposed for multilayer structured transparent film roll-to-roll processing. Two parallel strip lights are involved in the vision system to illuminate the indentation at a low angle, which ensures that the distinct image of the cutting indentation can be obtained in reflection and diffuse homogeneous lights. The measurement of micro-indentations can be used to evaluate the film conveying positioning accuracy and calculate the compensation of film feeding position control. An experiment platform was established to show the efficiency and feasibility of proposed scheme. Experimental results showed that the micro-indentation detection method, based on dark field illumination, is successful to increase the feeding precision of multilayer structured transparent film discontinuous winding system.

Abstract:
This qualitative study has examined how Sigtuna with its local businesses works to create a united destination image and what challenges that arise in this creation. The methodological approach to collect data consists of qualitative interviews and text and image analyzes. There have been seven interviews with local businesses operating in Sigtuna and they are included in the same network. Analyzes of websites and social media, such as Facebook and Instagram, as well as videos identified as important in the process of communicating the Sigtuna image have been performed. Three theories have been applied in the study to explain what destination image includes as well as significant factors in the creation of image, networking between companies and how image can be conveyed. The results has shown that there are some improvement areas for the destination's common creation of an image. The areas that need to be developed primarily are communication between businesses and the follow up of its common goals. The presentation of the image is mainly through social media, where the historical aspects are presented as an important part of Sigtuna's image. The results also shows that there are challenges and the greatest challenge for the destination is to find a common approach that all business will work towards.

Images, one of the universal forms of communication across the world, are what many written languages were based upon; initially, humans created words according to the appearance of the objects they signified. Good image design is composed of images with simple patterns, thereby easy to understand and remember, as well as fully conveying the underlying meanings. According to the findings of this study, some images are common in illustrations. The stylization extent of illustrations is also closely related to the patterns and characteristics of such images. Well-designed images can enhance aesthetic value, make the matched words more understandable, facilitate the presentation of the visual aesthetics of multiple creative media and, more importantly, improve the message conveyance function. Creating a good image is a concern among designers. Accordingly, the objective of this study is to discover the elements required for clear, efficient message conveyance of images in the hope that image designers can better apply such elements in a variety of image designs and, in addition, that researchers can be inspired for future studies. The research objectives that had been achieved include: 1. comparing the style and element differences among fish images via a literature review; 2. comparing and analyzing color and pattern applications revealed in fish images; 3. investigating how fish images have been applied and the semantic annotations of the images; and 4. exploring and determining the relationship between image design characteristics and the feelings and preferences on the part of the viewers according to the data elicited from the investigation. After a literature review, the image style theory by Huck (2004) was adopted. The research samples comprising fish images were collected from the 2010 and 2011 textbooks or multimedia interactive teaching CDs published by Kang Hsuan, Nani, and Han Lin for elementary schools in Taiwan. A total of 116 fish images were collected and grouped into “digital images” and “illustrations.” Image expression techniques and styles as well as image semantic association on the part of viewers were analyzed through literature analysis method, KJ method, comparative analysis method and semantic analysis method, in order to elucidate the application of fish images. The research results were as follows: (1) illustrations outnumbered digital images among the fish images; (2) black was the predominant color in design, followed by gray and red; (3) low-graders mostly chose “multicolored” images featuring cartoon and geometric patterns, middle-graders mostly chose illustrations with low chroma and high luminance for color use, while the images chosen by high-graders were more diverse, with colors of nature being preferred; and (4) images which pupils preferred tended to be “simple,” “interesting” and “cute”, and such images were also most widely applied in the textbooks and teaching CDs. It could be concluded that the messages fish images conveyed were “simple” and “fun.”

Abstract:
A new, through-the-bit, ultra-slim wireline borehole-imaging tool for use in oil-based mud provides photorealistic images. The imager is designed to be conveyed through drill-pipe. At the desired well section, it exits the drill pipe through a portal drill bit and starts the logging. Field test measurements in several horizontal, unconventional wells in North America show images of fine detail with a large amount of geological information and high value for well development. A relatively new solution for conveying tools to the deepest point of a high angle or horizontal wells uses a drill bit with a portal hole at the bit face. As soon as the bit reaches the total depth, a string of logging tools is pumped down through the drill pipe. The tools exit the bit through the portal hole, arriving in the open hole and are ready for the up log. The tools operate on battery and store the log data in memory so that no cable is interfering as the drill pipe is tripped out of the well while the tools are acquiring data. The quality of wireline electrical borehole images in wells drilled with oil-based mud has significantly improved in recent years. Modern microresistivity imagers operate in the megahertz-frequency range, radiating the electromagnetic signal through the non-conductive mud column. A composite processing scheme produces high-resolution impedivity images. The new, ultra-slim borehole-imager tool uses these measurement principles and processing methods. Innovating beyond the existing tool designs the tool is now re-engineered to dimensions sufficiently slim to fit through drill pipes and to use through-the-bit logging techniques. The new, ultra-slim tool geometry proves highly reliable and, due to the deployment technique, highly effective in challenging hole conditions. The tool did not suffer any damage and showed only minute wear over more than twenty field test wells. The tool’s twelve-pad geometry provides 75% coverage in a six-inch diameter borehole and its image quality compares very well with existing larger tools. The field test of this borehole imaging tool covers all scenarios from vertical to deviated and to long-reach, horizontal wells. Geological structures, sedimentary heterogeneities, faults and fractures are imaged with detail matching benchmark wireline images. The interpretation answers allow operators of unconventional reservoirs to employ intelligent stimulation strategies based on geological reality and effective well development. A new high-frequency borehole imager for wells drilled with oil-based mud is introduced. Deployed through the drill pipe and its portal bit, the imager carries photorealistic microresistivity images into wells where conventional wireline conveyance techniques reach their limits in both practicality and viability.

Abstract:
Sonic imaging has been traditionally provided using wireline acoustic logging tools in vertical or deviated pilot wells, and, in horizontal wells, using tractors and drillpipe conveyance, to provide information such as lithological changes and natural fractures extending tens of meters from the borehole. Providing a sonic imaging capability on other conveyance methods, particularly closer to drill time, has been a long-held ambition to reduce rig time and provide more timely information during the well construction process. Particularly where conventional wireline operations are not advisable or not possible, the slim-dipole logging technology offers greater flexibility and reduces operational risk. The small-diameter logging tool can be conveyed through the drillstring using a mud pump flow to deliver the tool out through a specialized 2 ½-in. portal in the bit to the open borehole. Sonic logging conveyed through the drillstring was primarily intended for estimating formation slownesses along extended reach wells providing essential information for designing completions and optimizing perforation performance along the reservoir interval. Providing a sonic imaging capability for this conveyance platform involved a tool firmware modification to extend the waveform listening times for both the monopole and dipole sources and optimizing on-board memory for data storage. New workflows were developed to reduce the interference of the direct borehole modes that typically obscure the underlying reflected arrival events, which account for the differences in the signal response, as compared to a traditional larger diameter wireline tool. Using finite difference modeling, we quantify the effects of the tool’s smaller diameter on the azimuth precision of the sonic imaging measurements and confirm the capabilities for providing useful sonic imaging results. Automated sonic imaging and migration workflows were used to convert these reflected arrival events into a 3D formation model and corresponding log of true dip and azimuth useful for formation evaluation and completions design in a timely manner. We present data from the study area introducing far-field imaging on slim dipole technology. Monopole and dipole sonic imaging waveform measurements were acquired along a highly deviated well through a complex fractured carbonate formation. Horizontally polarized shear (SH) reflections from major horizons through the formation were identified in the filtered dipole waveforms to provide structural insight for layers not crossing the wellbore. In addition, the automated workflows identified mode-converted refracted arrivals and P reflections from fractures along the lateral, and thus complemented the borehole image analysis.
