Abstract This paper diagnoses the temperature trends in maximum (Tmax) and minimum temperatures (Tmin) over a selection of 65 stations spread over the southeast United States (SEUS) from three observed datasets. They are the Cooperative Observer network program (COOP), the COOP data corrected for documented shifts in time of observation (COOP1), and the COOP data additionally corrected for documented changes in instrumentation (COOP2). These 65 stations have been isolated for having the three observed datasets for the same time period from 1948 to 2009. The authors’ comparisons suggest that CO

Abstract:
The broiler chicken farm at RRMC has good maintenance management and feeding procedures. The productivity level of the livestock had been achieved and it meets the standard market weight of 2 kg for one maintenance period of 35 days. The shape of the coop in the RRMC is a semi-monitor whose coop location faces the rising sun, so the chicken can get direct morning sunlight. Preparation of the coop at the time of DOC comes is very important because the coop should be sterile from various seeds of disease. Whether it comes from fungi, viruses, bacteria and protozoa. In addition, during maintenanc

Objectives Polydactyly has been described in two breeds of domestic cats (Maine Coon and Pixie Bob) and in some outbred domestic cats (eg, Hemingway cats). In most cases, feline polydactyly is a non-syndromic preaxial polydactyly. Three variants located in a regulatory sequence involved in limb development, named ZRS (zone of polarising activity regulatory sequence), have been identified to be responsible for feline polydactyly. These variants have been found in outbred domestic cats in the UK ( UK1 and UK2 variants) and in Hemingway cats in the USA ( Hw variant). The aim of this study was to

The Cooperative Observer Program (COOP), established over 100 years ago, has become the backbone of temperature and precipitation data that characterize means, trends, and extremes in U.S. climate. However, significant and widespread biases in the way COOP observers measure daily precipitation have been discovered. These include 1) underreporting of light precipitation events (daily totals of less than 0.05 in., or 1.27 mm), and 2) overreporting of daily precipitation amounts evenly divisible by five- and/or ten-hundredths of an inch, that is, 0.10, 0.25, 0.30 in., etc. (2.54, 6.35, 7.62 mm, e

ABSTRACTThe Scc4 protein (CT663) of the pathogenic bacteriumChlamydiahas been described as a type III secretion (T3S) chaperone as well as an inhibitor of RNA polymerase. To examine if these roles are connected, we first investigated physical interactions betweenChlamydia trachomatisScc4 and the T3S chaperone Scc1 and a T3S substrate, CopN. In a yeast 3-hybrid assay, Scc4, Scc1, and CopN were all required to detect an interaction, which suggests that these proteins form a trimolecular complex. We also detected interactions between any two of these three T3S proteins in a pulldown assay using o

The purpose of the present study was to examine the effects of cooperative training strategies to enhance students' socioscientific decision making as well as their metacognitive skills in the science classroom. Socioscientific decision making refers to both “describing socioscientific issues” as well as “developing and evaluating solutions” to socioscientific issues. We investigated two cooperative training strategies which differed with respect to embedded metacognitive instructions that were developed on the basis of the IMPROVE method. Participants were 360 senior high school students who
