Full textThe productivity paradox can be described as a temporal gap between the innovation installation and its profitability. The innovation process is defined as a process developped in time, of a construction and utilisation of productive capacity. Then, investment commitment must be formalised by an irreversible decision which must face to an economic specific problem of sunk costs. An analysis of mecanisms of innovation process commitment must be made before justifying the microeconomic foundations of productivity paradox. This thesis focuses on the description of commitment process of the firm faces to many progressive constraints which are dependant on the nature of innovative process : irreversibility, uncertainty, cumulativity of commitments, intertemporal complementarity of production factors, and agents'plans coherence. The demonstrated results show that the irreversibility effects increases the noticed gap between demand and supply. We explain that by the existence of a production delay constructed by the firm, when innovation process is committed. Then, firm will organise and coordinate this production delay. The choice strategies developped by the firm in this way, must lead to an important contribution dedicated to market connexions, and to a construction of a competition focused on a descovering step by step of "essays-errors"

Full textThis thesis focuses on the project-based learning activity in a high technological school. The study shows that the students are organizing their works in complete autonomy calling on collaboration and cooperation. It also shows that the two categories are connected by a cause and effect relationship. Furthermore this study explains the three coordination types that the students are calling on to achieve their project. The mediation of the teacher is only aimed to support, guide, encourage and assess the two learners all along the learning process. The design and implementation project is considered as a way of stimulating the learners to reinvest previously acquired knowledge and at the same time to build up new theoretical knowledge during the project development. This construction is carried out jointly with the creation of new technical and professional skills. All this acquired knowledge are inter-acting each other to build student’s competences. Those competences are used and assessed during the trainee period in the company

Full textThis dissertation presents : when an organization tries to ameliorate its performance by strategically changing its underlying policies and norms, as the coordination between its members tends to be transformed into a prisoner's dilemma situation, in fact, the results of the strategic change cannot reach a desired level. Hence, theoretically, (1) (in terms of organizational learning) any voluntary organizational action whose objective represents a double loop learning (which is a more profound learning than a single loop learning) has its own limits in itself; (2) (from the perspective of micro-micro economics) we argue that organizational efficiency is de facto sub-optimal because dynamically counterproductive coordination repeats in the organization (cf. Leibenstein's x-inefficiency). (3) we suggest a concept of internal organizing efficiency' to represent an important aspect of organizational efficiency. In chapter 1, principal concepts on organizational learning and a game-theoretic model (coordination game) are presented. In chapter 2, empirical studies based on qualitative data (interviews, surveys) are utilized to show the dynamics of the case, which is a korean firm in electronics. In chapter 3, a litterature survey is presented

Full textThe target of this survey is to define a concept which, although in increasing use in management, reveals ambiguities: the "collective competency". The matter in hand waas, in particular, to take into account actors, whitch do not necessarily, share thez same time and location unit. It was decided here to choose a qualitative research strategy (2 cases studies) to allow both testing research hypothesizes and left, if necessary, emerge non initially anticipated elements : 5 analysises on the sites followed by one comparative analysis betwen the differents sites. This study, conducted within the customers contacts centres areas, leads :- to refute the idea, firts considered, of collective competency, as a collective ability to produce a common result with a given level of collective effiency. - to a posteriori draw, a theoretical analysis network allowing to point out, on side the nature assigned of the factors on witch are based the ability of collectivities to co-ordinate their work and on the other side, the different parts played by processing data systems within co-ordination. - to introduce the idea of effiency of socio-organisational devices or arrangements to translate the aspects assigned of the ability of collectivities to coordinate working together, - and to re-define and re-position the collective effiency concepts as a generic. .

This coherence research requires a wider organizationnal control to the French conception : the Anglo-Saxon conception of control. This control analyses the effective regularities of coordination based on a group of criterion used to identify conventions. The proposal of this thesis is to show how is it possible to identify conventions in a bank mortgage process. Datas collected during a hidden observation are triangulated in order to increase the availability of interpretations. The process analysis is grounded on a cartography and on the identification of conventions. The results show that there are risks in coordination which can be identified by conventions. These results involve a reflexion about the conventional dynamic

Full textThis thesis aims to investigate the cultural sector (cultural industries and alive spectacle) in France and in Quebec, in order to show in what the various institutionalists economic theories are likely to account for the diversity of the forms of enterprises. Our analysis relates more precisely to the "social economy" (associations, co-operatives, mutual insurance companies). We use various statistical methods (instrumental variables and "matching" based on propensity score with data from national surveys (INSEE, France & Ministère de la Culture du Québec); textual data analysis with data from business and activities reports). We established three stylized facts with a general validity (relation between implication and cultural consumption ; specific place of the social economy on certain activities ; plurality of the motivations of the stakeholders). The various institutionalisms (rational choice institutionalism, conventionalist institutionalism and historical institutionalism) were then confronted with these facts. We highlight the need for an articulation of these different theoretical frameworks

Full textFor some years, clinical research has been perceived as an ally to fight against cancer. In drug development process, early phase trials are the first test on human of a new therapeutics’ agent. Because in oncology those early phases enroll patient with therapeutic failure – without any treatment or option left –, they brings specific issues on how care pathway links to clinical research. We focus on how patient join such trials and frame it as a coordination problem to determine how early phase trial works between medical and research activities. The concept of configuration steers to a structural analysis of care pathways considering all at one dynamics of patients, physicians and health institutions. It especially focuses on three inclusion’s mechanisms connecting research units to patients: access, commitment and matching. Each of them is described and formalized as a specific model. Separating those mechanisms help to highlights changes over time. Lately, this configuration has evolved with the introduction of genomic trials and institutional changes. This thesis combines quantitative (survey, data analysis) and qualitative (interviews, observations) data collected in two main French early phase unit

Full textThe object of this thesis is to analyze the form of coordination between the economic agents in an evolutionary, uncertain and complex environment. This research is dedicated to the study of interactions between production organization of the production, the relational logic and spatial dynamics in the search for flexibility. This new orientation modifies industrial relations into more enriched coordination relations and more innovative strategies. At the theoretical level, the various contributions resulting from various schools of thought (economy, management, sociology, industrial geography) reveal the variety of the behavior of the agents, which explains the plurality of the form of coordination. The connection between the various theoretical approaches (New Institutional Economy, economy of agreements, economic sociology and the evolutionist approach) seems indispensable for a better understanding of the nature of relations between the agents and the mode of management of risks in time and space. The contributions of these approaches take into consideration the formal and informal interactions which characterize the relation of coordination. The use of this theoretical reading grid in the subcontracting relation in the Moroccan textile and clothing industry constitutes the object of the empirical study. The confrontation between the theoretical analysis and the field work allows us to test the relevance of the abstract model and the hypotheses of departure

Full textThis thesis aims to define and quantify the greenhouse gas (GHG) emission emitted by our industrial partner’s logistics transportation network. Next to that, we detail several possible optimization scenarios in order to reduce its carbon footprint. This is done via mathematical optimization, in which the trips between the company and its various partners, from supply to delivery to the end customer, for different types of products and different carriers with different types of vehicles are considered. More specifically, our purpose is to describe and represent the difference between the current situation and the solution obtained by optimizing the network in terms of distance traveled, GHG emitted, consolidation of deliveries as well as production and stock needed. Following the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the results, we are able to provide numerous suggestions for improvements to the company with regard to the management of its internal and external transport. A number of key performance indicators are also evaluated, most importantly inventory and the number of trips. These are drastically reduced in our optimized scenario. To ensure optimal business results, we propose a two-step resolution model that includes mathematical modeling of the problem followed by manual improvement of the solution. In addition, the calculation methods used to measure GHGs emitted are based on the distance traveled as well as the capacity used of each vehicle, thus assigning vehicle usage to the company (while the remaining vehicle space is to be used by other companies when the carrier consolidates its operation). This allows us to estimate the emissions generated even when the construction of routes of different carriers is not exactly known. The coordination, consolidation and synchronization of the various trips related to the company’s activities allowed us to reduce the GHGs emitted by up to 23%, which translates into 3,438.64 tons of CO2e saved on a yearly basis, or 2,733,354 km. In addition, our observations of the results highlighted a multitude of recommendations regarding the use of carriers, the reduction of inventory and the control of transport flows within the company.

Full textStrategies. This plurality of actors and instruments affects the coherence of the organic-functional framework for the protection of the right to health and poses a real coordination challenge. Our study focuses on the specific case of Senegal, questions the current coordination mechanisms that have shown their limits to the test of practice, both nationally and internationally. In the Senegalese internal order, the imperative coordination of health actions, although present in speeches and texts, is insufficiently translated into reality. At the international level, the multiple coordination mechanisms are characterized by a static approach that has been largely overtaken by the new realities of health law. This thesis offers to go beyond a static approach for a dynamic strategy of coordination, centered on the regulation mechanism. More adapted to the imbalances that characterize the framework of protection of the right to health, the coordination -regulation will seek to ensure a good articulation between the principle of the responsibility and the sanitary governance for a greater effectiveness of the sanitary actions in the States in development, through the example of Senegal

Full textThe objective of this study is to analyze the vertical coordination of the distribution of subsidized fertilizer in Mali. To do this, we adopted a qualitative research approach based on the exploitation of secondary data and the collection of primary information through individual surveys of actors involved in fertilizer supply in the Sikasso region. The primary data collected from these actors are analyzed by the content analysis method, which consists of classifying information by theme. The results obtained from the analysis show that actors involved in fertilizer supply are bound by formal and informal contract relationships, from market to cash market systems and vertical integration (in a lesser extent) as coordination tools. The results also show that the problems in the subsidized fertilizer supply chain, which may be obstacles (if no action is taken) to producers' access to the subsidy, are the asymmetry of information in subsidy access procedures, illicit fertilizer circulation, delay or nonpayment of subsidy, insufficient State fertilizer allowances, the lack of financial and logistical means at the level of the agricultural sectors and lack of agricultural credit system for producers in the DRA zone. Keywords: Vertical coordination, fertilizer, subsidy, farm, maize, supply, agriculture service.

Full textFacing the geographic dispersion of their activities, multinational companies (MNCs) are involved in the management of increasingly complex intra- and inter-organizational relationships. This doctoral research focuses on the coordination of these relationships in the context of the global factory, which represents a particular form of the network-firm. It is based on an action research project conducted at Renault Trucks (Volvo Group). The empirical study covers 63 interviews, interactive panels and the organization of two workshops, completed by secondary data. The results highlight the important role played by the lead firm for the management of relationships with international partners. Depending on the configuration of the partner (level of operational autonomy and frequency of the transaction), it is recommended to choose specific coordination mechanisms. A set of 21 proposals intends to improve our understanding of the global factory in terms of configuration and internal operations. Finally, an organizational design of the global factory is developed

Full textThe transportation of goods is a key position in the French economy. The transport operator plans the rounds and the truck driver goes these rounds. There is a mutual interdependence in their work. These operators can be faced with several occupational risks: physical, psychosocial…Regarding their health prevention, questions are strategic. This doctoral thesis aims to consider the question of operator’s health with regard to their collective activity. The objective is to understand the origins of operator’s collective activity on professional and physical distance. The effects of collective activity on the health will be analysed from the social support. The proposed method consists on an ergonomic approach of activity with field observations and oral agreements. There are three studies case in which levels of professional and physical distances differ. The first study case characterized the collective activity, the coordination process and social support on operators faced with strong professional distance and small and strong physical distance. The second study case is on the same approach than the first but this time operators are faced with small professional distance. Lastly, the third study case emphasizes the connections between coordination and social support on operator’s collective activity with strong professional and physical distance. The main results indicate that all forms and levels of distance affect collective activity differently. Indeed, we can note that there is a link between collective actions and physical distance on operators with a strong professional distance. However, these links on operators with a small professional distance are absent. Otherwise, social support represents mostly a resource for the operators in these three studies. Nevertheless, it appears to be a constraint on particular work situation

Full textMadagascar among less advanced countries in a precarious situation has benefited aids from many donors, bilateral and multilateral, traditional or new ones, to finance its development program implementation.Since its independence, it has not stopped receiving such public aids for development. However, no improvement has occurred up to now. In 2005, the adoption of the Paris Declaration during the High Level Forum by the Development Assistance Committee (DAC-OECD) established a new political orientation based on promoting harmonisation and coordinating aid policies to ensure efficiency of all actions for a sustainable stability and development. Being aware of the challenges to take up, Madagascar enrolled in the process of ensuring the politics and practise harmonization consistency. It is one of the fifty countries that adopted and signed for this declaration. The above political orientation had to provide a breath of fresh air and recommends to the technical and financial partners (PTFs) to really unite and work together so that aids could be an actual development tool and no more a problem for the beneficiary country. The last Busan Aid Effectiveness Declaration in 2011 still emphasizes this aspect .Therefore, since 2005, the malgache government with the support of all its PTFs, donors, has decided to put an agenda in place for the 2015 horizon. This agenda, a sort of roadmap, fixes the important steps that the players should follow to establish harmonized and coordinated managing mechanism of the public development aids. It is a partnership incentive between donors and government that the latter tries to establish. Those actions began with the reform implementation to make the national system reliable and to win back the PTFs’ confidence. Therefore, the implementation of the coordinating entity and the mechanism of national monitoring survey joint with public policies and external aids has been processed. Simultaneously, at each sector’s level, the approach adaptation has been searched to be in agreement with this new political orientation. In practice, these processes are not easy to carry out and some difficulties are politically and technically experienced. This engenders disorder in the national aid mapping and suspicion in the application of the five consistency principles: Ownership, Alignment, Harmonisation, Managing for results and Mutual accoutability known as harmonisation. The instability caused by the 2009 crisis occurrence has slowed down the well engaged process despite the promising results. In fact, the 2010 DP implementation survey evoked a performance decrease if compared to that of 2008. The search for complementary feature, for synergy between financial donor(s) with politics appropriation as a factor in the success are the challenges. Knowledge keeping would be important to prevent from regression and coming back to the old practices that are not adapted to the international cooperation for the development . In the same way, the malgache authority should more focalize their attention to the way how to regain the national development players’ and the donors’ trust

Full textFair trade (FT) has known a strong growth since the 1990's. In spite of its success, FT is the objectof different criticisms, notably concerning its closeness with big companies and supermarket distribution. This proximity characterizes, for some people, a loss of the ethical values and an integration of capitalistvalues: the problem is that FT was built in reaction to these capitalist functioning. Literature is importantconcerning these tensions in the North, whereas in the South it is generally a matter of the impact of FT on producers. The purpose of this research is to analyze the tensions that can exist in the FT system in the South, with an entrance by the certified cooperatives. In the course of three series of inquiries about the coffeecooperatives certified by FLO in Costa Rica, we collected quantitative and qualitative data. Across the field of the conventions economy, we show that the certified cooperatives:(i) register in the different worlds with a strong difference concerning the worlds civic(collective) and (traditional) servant,(ii) have very differentiated effort conventions. These elements explain a heterogeneous commitment of cooperatives in FT: some people certify bycarrying strong beliefs in a closer link between producers and consumers when others see a marketingopportunity. We finish our thesis by offering thinking elements about the moral contract passed as part ofthe IT between consumers and producers, and deeply questioning the future of FT

Full textSeveral important factors are involved in the competitive dynamics of supply chains: namely the structural and relational characteristics. In this doctoral research we choose to use the relational register in order to understand the role of social networks in building coordination capacity within supply chains. The field of investigation is the Fourth Party Logistics (4PL), whose job is to design and orchestrate logistics systems without ownership of physical assets. To shed some light on this issue we engage three analytical frameworks: the inter-organizational management, the social networks paradigm and logistics services. The empirical approach was based on discourse analysis of people operating in 4PL companies. The results of our study highlight that we must rely on economical as well as social values, such as trust and interpersonal ties, in order to maintain and boost inter-organizational relationships. These social values facilitate 4PL's coordination within supply chains and legitimize its control

However, the present studies on this theme do not allow to answer directly the question of collective expertise construction (Bourbousson et al., 2008; Bourbousson et Sève, 2010; Eccles et Tenenbaum, 2004). Our thesis work aims to answer this question through the analysis of interpersonal coordination construction between football players in a team, within a professional training center. With a naturalist approach, we created a methodology which is qualitative (non-invasive with autoconfrontation semi-guided interviews, and ethnographic notes), longitudinal (22 months followup) and multi-level (analysis of the training plan, of trainers’ activity and analysis of players activity). Results are exposed in three chapters: 1) study of the evolution of the group awareness regarding thesituation (Endsely, 1995), 2) the different collective training processes mobilized by players during the 6 training sessions; 3) the influence of training plan and trainers’ activity on players activity in situation. Our results have been discussed in relation with literature in sport sciences and ergonomic psychology. Finally, our thesis work offers methodologic, conceptual and practical advances

Full textThe main objective of this research is a better understanding of the mechanisms of structuration of the networks organizations, and particularly the inter-organizational networks, especially throughout the exemple of the networks specialized in cancerology. Our research, of exploratory type, is characterized with a position of searcher in a professional situation, and also with a construction around publications in revues with a selection comitee, which lead to this particular format of these, in which chapters are constituted of publications. A first part of this these aims to a better descriptive and ontological understanding of health networks. First of all, we studied the question of the nature of health networks and their stakes, then we analyzed the mechanisms of reticular structuration throughout the case of cancerology, before studying the impacts of statutory evolutions on the development of these networks. In a second time, an explanatory and predictive objective lead us to postulate a labile characterization of the sanitary networks and suggest in this environment a way of reading their development throughout an ontological approach. So we propose a reticular life cycle which we structure in five successive phases : prehistory, creation, development, maturity and, finally, decline. This conclusion suggests a contingent approach of piloting according to these different sequences and could be transposed to other organizations in network

Full textHaiti has a great potential for quality coffee production and is therefore attractive for specialty markets. Of great importance in the socio-economic and cultural life of Haitians, coffee farming has however become less and less dominant in the Haitian economy for decades. Given this situation, the producers of the Baptist region are organized since 1999 in cooperatives in order to face the various challenges of the coffee sector with the support of a local non-governmental organization. This change has been made in the context of quality approach and is accompanied by a set of social, economic and environmental benefits, but also disadvantages for coffee producers. Using a quality approach based on individual interviews and observations, this document analyses these avantages and disadvantages. However, despite the positive impact of cooperatives on the producers in the organization of quality coffee chain, the development of quality coffee remains a challenge for the different actors in the production, processing and marketing of coffee. Keywords: Coffee chain, cooperatives, quality approach, specialty market, advantages, disadvantages, producers, Baptiste region, Haiti.
Li, Rui. "Le management de la distribution multicanal : comprendre et analyser le phénomène d'intégration : le cas de la société Nestlé." Thesis, Aix-Marseille, 2018. http://www.theses.fr/2018AIXM0159.
Full textIn the contemporary context of rapidly evolving distribution and e-commerce, this research investigates a general problem articulated around the topic of multichannel distribution. We are particularly interested in the phenomenon of multichannel integration and lay emphasis on the major significance of an overall vision when a company tries to manage its different distribution channels. While adopting a BtoB approach and a business management perspective, this academic work tries to address a central question: how can industrial companies integrate their multiple distribution channels? The answers are provided by a qualitative approach based on an in-depth case study in Nestlé France. The findings of this research suggest a series of endogenous and exogenous factors that influence the level of multichannel integration obtained by a company. Some of those factors, which are associated with the relational coordination across the logistics, marketing and information system departments, could be regarded as a strongly expected dimension for the company under study to establish the multichannel integration procedures. Furthermore, the adoption of multichannel integration appears to create a positive influence on the perceived performance of the company. Some challenges met in terms of estimating the impacts of integration are also identified. Finally, the results indicate that the studied company is probably not attempting to reach the extreme level of multichannel integration. It would be more interesting to reach a satisfactory level and find the point of balance between too much and not enough integration by reinforcing the current advantages of multichannel integration

Full textBenin is one of the 26 least developed countries. It has an economy essentially rural. Its transport investments concern mainly intercity and interstate road infrastructures. Rural road infrastructures are of little concern for those in charge of transport policy. There is a true pro-urban transport infrastructure investment decision bias despite the role and the importance of the rural world in the beninian economy. Transport infrastructure public production, and financing modalities - by the state and the international development assistance organisations - and the cartesian approach of the calculations of the economical profitability of investments in this sector, particularly for roads in rural areas are the main causes of the acknowledgement of the weakness and the inconsistency of the transport infrastructure investments in benin. In order to reverse this trend, it would be necessary to undertake a constitutional reform of the management and the production of transport infrastructures, to adopt a new evaluation that would integrate the technical, social, cultural environment of the area where they will be built, and finally to increase the financial resources dedicated to rural roads
