Abstract:
Coptotermes heimi is a destructive subterranean termite species commonly found on the Indian subcontinent. Environmental concerns of chemical insecticides usage forced scientist to concentrate on alternative methods. Metarhizium anisopliae is observed to have pathogenic effects against various arthropods. This study focused on the interaction of M. anisopliae with C. heimi to check its virulence against the termites. Specific spore concentration of M. anisopliae (1.1×107conidia/ml) was applied on different group sizes of termites

Abstract:
A host of new eco- friendly preservatives and treatments for protection of panel products are being developed. Engineered wood products require extra caution while testing with termites, due to high moisture conditions during field tests, a composite panel may subject to delamination making it difficult for a proper rating and determination of damage due to termite activity. This work focuses on development of a laboratory testing method for plywood and blockboard resistance against termite species Heterotermes indicola and Coptotermes heimi. Abstract:
Termite infestation poses a significant threat to structural integrity and agricultural productivity worldwide. This study was conducted to investigate the efficacy of ethanolic extracts of Acacia nilotica and Eucalyptus camaldulensis against Coptotermes heimi, focusing on mortality and repellency. The ethanoloic leaf extract of E. camaldulensis showed mortality of 79.33% at 30% concentration while A. nilotica at 30% of concentration revealed a mortality of 74.66%. The LC50 value of E. camaldulensis was 7.70% while that of A. nilotica was 13.03%. Both plants were found repellent against C. hei

Abstract:
Bait matrix of different treatments were evaluated against two termite species i.e. Odontotermes obesus and Coptotermes heimi both under laboratory and field conditions. Mean wood consumption in laboratory bioassays were investigated for 2, 4 and 6 weeks with maximum consumption was noted after 4 weeks. While, field experiment was conducted for 24 there was greater consumption of the loosely bound bait matrix compared to the tightly bound matrix. However, feeding was comparatively high in combinations with attractants. Overall, treated colonies experienced a 90-95% decrease in population size

Abstract:
Termites are eusocial cellulophagous isopterus insects belonging to phylum Arthopoda, class insecta and order Blattodea. They are a dominant group of invertebrate decomposers that inhabit the arid and semi-arid zone of the world. They exhibit division of labor among the individuals of their colony based on their morphology, physiology and behavior. They feed on dead and decayed wood, woody plants, animal dung, soil, timber and all the cellulosic products. They are involved in ecosystem services like nutrient cycling, enhancement of biodiversity and soil structuring etc. But on the other hand,

Abstract:
The extract of Mentha arviensis (mint) has been found to have considerable application against microbial diseases. The present study is designed to check the insecticidal properties of Mentha arviensis. Crude extract of the leaves of Mentha arviensis was obtained in benzene-ethanol (2:1) solvent using soxhelt apparatus and dried extract was applied (25mg, 50mg and 100 mg) against termite workers, soldiers and their gut flagellates of Coptotermes heimi and Heterotermes indicola. A significant increase in mortality of termite workers, soldiers and their gut flagellates was observed depending upo
