Organisation of exhibitions from the point of view of copyright (Act on Copyright and Related Rights of 4 Feb. 1994, further copyright) is a multifaceted issue. The analysis conducted in the paper boils down to some selected aspects: beginning with the right to display, through exhibition as a separate copyrighted work, up to the exhibition author, namely curator. When purchasing items for collections or acquiring them on the ground of a loan contract, museums should make sure the work can be exploited through public display. Such agreement can be either expressed in the contract (rights or li

Digital music copyright exclusive licence is now the most applicable form of agreement in the digital music market. Although the National Copyright Administration interviewed in 2017, which had a short-term good effect, the digital exclusive licensing model dominated by "exclusive license" gradually evolved into the exclusive copyright agency model allowing "non-exclusive license+ sub-licensing", the digital exclusive copyright authorization model still raises great monopoly risks, such as abuse of market dominance, vertical monopoly agreements, and concentration of operators. Copyright licences can be implied when the doing of a restricted act is covered neither by the express licence of the copyright owner, nor by one of the statutory limitations and exceptions. The manner in which copyright licences are implied, therefore, holds the key to broadening the scope of permissible acts. In contrast to the rigidity of statutory limitations and exceptions, implied licences are more malleable in being able to respond to a diverse set of circumstances, as the need arises. Thus, implied licences can serve as a flexible and targeted mechanism to balance competing interests,

This research provides a systematic and theoretical analysis of the digital challenges to the established exclusive regime of the economic rights enjoyed by authors (and related rightholders) under the law of copyright. Accordingly, this research has developed a relational theory of authorship and a relational approach to copyright, contending that the regulatory emphasis of copyright law should focus on the facilitation of the dynamic relations between the culture, the creators, the future creators, the users and the public, rather than the allocation of resources in a static world. Abstract:
On-demand video streaming platforms are becoming one of the most important means to publish and consume multimedia content on the internet. The platforms are usually owned by corporations that charge for content access and implement restrictive copyright policies. While the platforms are beneficial, in many aspects, to the multimedia industry and consumers, they can be too restrictive for independent content creators and users with limited resources. This paper presents Libreflix, an on-demand video platform for free publication and consumption of content. Libreflix is intended for aggregation

Abstract:
In 2020, ARL’s Advocacy and Public Policy Committee launched a digital rights initiative focused on understanding and safeguarding the full stack of research libraries’ rights: to acquire and lend digital content to fulfill libraries’ functions in research, teaching, and learning; to provide accessible works to people with print disabilities; and to fulfill libraries’ collective preservation function for enduring access to scholarly and cultural works. Our objective is to make sure that these rights are well understood by research libraries, by Congress, by the US Copyright Office, and by the

ARL is pleased to publish e-Resource Licensing Explained: An A–Z Licensing Guidebook for Libraries, a practical tool to empower librarians who license electronic resources (e-resources). The guidebook includes easily digestible legal explanations and pragmatic strategies for preserving rights that users already have under US copyright law, particularly in the face of restrictive license terms that would otherwise constrain or eliminate those rights. For each term of an e-resource license agreement, the book explores: essentials of the law, desired results, desired language, tricks and traps, a

Abstract:
Catalyzed by the passing of the York University Open Access Policy last year, a recognition has been growing at York University, like most other institutions, about the value of Open Educational Resources (OER) and more broadly, open education. This heightened awareness led to the formation of a campus-wide Open Education Working Group in January 2020. The group advocated that faculty members who receive internal funding for teaching innovation projects through York’s Academic Innovation Fund (AIF) should include a Creative Commons license on their grant outputs to facilitate the re-use, and p
