Description of a new species of Nomada Scopoli, 1770, from France (Corsica) (Hymenoptera, Apidae). Nomada legoffi n. sp., a new species of bee of the genus Nomada Scopoli, 1770 (Hymenoptera, Apidae) from southern Corsica is described and illustrated. It is morphologically close to Nomada argentata Herrich-Schäffer, 1839. Observations on its probable host Andrena pellucens Pérez, 1895, are reported.

Abstract:
The study of 208 Corsican specimens of Diodontus reveals that four species occur in Corsica. Diodontus insidiosus Spooner, 1938, is newly recorded for this island and two species are new for science: D. inalpellatus n. sp. and D. touroulti n. sp. The two new species are well supported by their distinct morphology and genetic distance. Finally, D. friesei Kohl, 1901, is considered to be absent in Corsica and in France.

Abstract:
Records of the psychid species Phalacropterix apiformis (Rossi, 1790) from Corsica, France are mapped. Information about biology and phenology is also given, as well as a description of the morphological characteristics of this species. We combine this with DNA barcoding results. P. apiformis is compared with P. restonicae, described in 2015 by Fiumi & Govi from Corsica. We conclude on the basis of this evidence that both taxa are conspecific: we propose Phalacropterix restonicaesyn. nov.

Abstract:
Considered an integral part of Metropolitan France, the island of Corsica is situated nonetheless on the very periphery of the modern state that claims it. Actually situated geographically closer to Italy than to any part of France, its culture and its people are likewise more closely related to their Italians neighbors than to the rest of what Corsicans term "Continental France." Following the acquisition of Corsica, both government officials and bourgeois travelers would seek to visit the island, often recording their findings and publishing these memoirs for others to know of their travels.

Turks and Indians are the two major figures of the Other in French Renaissance literature. The purpose of this thesis is to explore otherness from a closer point of view by analysing the discursive allusions of the inhabitants of the South of the French Kingdom, particularly those of the "Province de Languedoc" throughout a collection of texts from the second half of the 16th century, whether they be strictly of a literary, historical or geographical source. Using the imagology method, the idea of the South being a key space in the emergence of the French identity is challenged.<br>First of al

This study examines the value of travellers’ written records of their trips with specific reference to the journals of five French travellers who visited Scotland between 1780 and 1830. The thesis argues that they contain material which demonstrates the merit of journals as historical documents. The themes chosen for scrutiny, life in the rural areas, agriculture, industry, transport and towns, are examined and assessed across the journals and against the social, economic and literary scene in France and Scotland. Through the evidence presented in the journals, the thesis explores aspects of t
