Abstract:
The biosynthesis of corydaline and thalictricavine has been investigated by application of [8-3H]-labelled palmatine and berberine to Corydalis cava bulb tissue. In both cases, high incorporation into the respective (14R,13S)corydaline and -thalictricavine was observed. (S)-[14-3H, 8-14C]Scoulerine was also transferred into corydaline with all of the tritium being lost, indicating that a redox reaction had taken place in the transition of the (14S) to the (14R) product. A partly enriched protein fraction catalyzed the reduction of both protoberberine precursors to the 7,8-dihydro intermediate,

Abstract This study, conducted in 2008 and 2012 - 2013, evaluated the flowering pattern (seasonal and diurnal), the abundance of flowering, nectar, and pollen yield, and insect visitor activity for Corydalis solida (L.) Clairv. and C. cava Schweig. et Koerte. The populations occur in the ground layer of a deciduous forest (Fagetalia ordo, Querco-Fagetea class) in a natural gorge within the current area of the UMCS Botanical Garden in Lublin, Poland (51° 16’ N, 22° 30’ E). The phenology of Corydalis species showed distinct year-to-year plasticity (e.g., blooming period in March - April or in Ap

Tubers of Corydalis cava were extracted with ethanol and fractionated using n-hexane, chloroform and ethanol. Repeated column chromatography, preparative TLC and crystallization led to the isolation of fifteen isoquinoline alkaloids. The chemical structures of the isolated compounds were determined on the basis of spectroscopic techniques and by comparison with literature data. All isolated compounds were tested for human blood acetylcholinesterase (HuAChE) and human plasma butyrylcholinesterase (HuBuChE) inhibitory activity. A new benzyldihydroisoquinoline alkaloid (1) was isolated from the tubers of Corydalis cava and named corylucinine. Additionally, 8-trichloromethyl-7,8-dihydropalmatine (2), an isolation artifact of tetrahydropalmatine, was obtained. The structures were established by spectroscopic (including 2D NMR and optical rotation) and HR-ESI-MS methods. Both compounds were tested for human blood acetylcholinesterase (HuAChE) and human plasma butyrylcholinesterase (HuBuChE) inhibitory activity. In comparison with the used standards, both compounds showed only moderate inhibitory activity against HuAChE (

Taxonomic composition of native and alien plants of the genus Corydalis s. l. in the flora of Ukraine has been analyzed. Based on literature, herbarium, inventory and other information, it was established for the first time that 3 native taxa (outside natural ranges) and 16 alien taxa of the genus Corydalis were recorded among ergasiophytes in botanical gardens and dendrological parks of Ukraine. The majority of these ergasiophytes (73.7 %) have not been preserved in the collections of living plants, indicating a low level of naturalization. The present study presents the associations of hornbeam-oak forests (Scillo vindobonensi-Carpinetum) in the northwestern part of Hungary based (Hanság) on 50 cenological images. We are faced with an azonal association moderately influenced by groundwater. Some submontane elements are striking in their stocks, which are generally rare in the Great Plains. In particular, Fagetalia elements are common: Actaea spicata, Adoxa moschatellina, Aegopodium podagraria, Allium ursinum, Anemone ranunculoides, Asarum europaeum, Athyrium filix-femina, Carex pilosa, Carex sylvatica, Circaea lutetiana, Corydal
