Abstract:
X-rays from early-type stars are emitted by the corona or the stellar wind. The materials in the surface layer of early-type stars are not contaminated by nuclear reactions in the stellar inside. Therefore, abundance study of the early-type stars provides us an information of the abundances of the original gas. However, the X-ray observations indicate low-metallicity, which is about 0.3 times of cosmic abundances. This fact raises the problem on the cosmic abundances.

AbstractThe cosmic abundance of lithium continues to represent a conundrum, as predictions from BBN theory are inconsistent with measurements in the atmospheres of the lowest-metallicity stars. While there are worries that modifications of the stellar Li abundances may play a role in this discrepancy, no satisfactory solution has yet been found. We suggest an alternate approach to studying the cosmic abundance of Li: measurements of interstellar gas-phase Li in low-metallicity environments.

Context. In the high-mass star-forming region G35.20−0.74N, small scale (~800 AU) chemical segregation has been observed in which complex organic molecules containing the CN group are located in a small location (toward continuum peak B3) within an apparently coherently rotating structure. Aims. We aim to determine the physical origin of the large abundance difference (~4 orders of magnitude) in complex cyanides within G35.20−0.74 B, and we explore variations in age, gas/dust temperature, and gas density. Methods. We performed gas-grain astrochemical modeling experiments with exponentially inc

<p>Analysis of the data from the Heavy Nuclei Experiment on the HEAO-3 spacecraft has yielded the cosmic ray abundances of odd-even element pairs with atomic number, Z, in the range 33 ≤ Z ≤ 60, and the abundances of broad element groups in the range 62 ≤ Z ≤ 83, relative to iron. These data show that the cosmic ray source composition in this charge range is quite similar to that of the solar system provided an allowance is made for a source fractionation based on first ionization potential. The observations are inconsistent with a source composition which is dominated by either r-process or s
