During the last seven years, the total cost for Swedish public transport provision has increased by over 30 percent in real terms according to figures from the government agency Transport Analysis. A similar pattern is found if considering a longer time span. Part of the cost increase can be attributed to an increased supply, and part is due to price increases on input factors that are measured by an industry index produced by the public transport industry. 碩士<br>國立中正大學<br>國際經濟所<br>95<br>摘要隨著台灣地區商業銀行家數激增與亞洲金融風暴對銀行業經營之衝擊，銀行廠商如何有效率地經營，成為一個重要課題。探討台灣銀行業經營效率之研究篇數頗多，其中大多採用不同效率模型探討，以全體台灣地區銀行資料估計一條邊界成本，並探討其相關效率值。但銀行廠商可依生產技術水準、經營環境、營運內容等差異分類群組，故若僅使用相同生產或成本函數衡量，忽略不同性質樣本銀行之生產技術，會造成估計偏誤，降低實證結果準確度。為解決上述問題，本文先將Battese and Coelli（1992）之隨機邊界生產模型概念，轉換為隨機邊界成本模型，推估1996－2005年間台灣地區公營背景銀行、民營銀行與外商銀行三種銀行群組之隨機邊界成本函數與成本效率。其次，採Battese, Rao and O’Donnell （2004）之共同邊界生產模型為共同邊界成本模型，並利用第一階段估計之三種群組隨機邊界成本函數，找出一條包絡三種銀行群組隨機邊界成本函數之共同邊界成本函數，進而觀察銀行廠商之共同成本效率與技術缺口比率。本研究實證結果如下： 1.除了公營背景銀行以外，民營銀行與外商銀行之無效率項在分析期間非一成不變，且三種銀行群組之成本效率逐年下降。2. 公營背景銀行之成本面技術缺口平均值、共同成本效率平均值皆為三種銀行群
