Abstract:
The article deals with the change of costs and its effect upon the change of profit in the monitored firm. The first part is devoted to the theoretical framework of the area. The formula needed for calculating indicators used are stated and described here and economic effects of the degrees of effectivness are explained by the means of graphs and formulas. The second part gives the definition of the degrees of effectiveness. Each of them is characterised by five items where monitored indicators are evaluated and described on the basis of observed data.

The article concerns an evaluation of intensification costs in an agricultural enterprise. Intensification cost dynamics are evaluated in comparison with the in-kind production volume. Using unit cost, unit intensification cost, unit non-intensification cost, unit intensification differential cost, and unit differential cost as indicators, the effectiveness of intensification costs is assessed. The effectiveness is expressed through absolute and relative changes in costs and in the economic results. The said changes include production expansion effect, relative change in costs and economic res

The managerial accounting literature suggests that adjustment costs lead to asymmetric cost behavior. Previous studies show that labor adjustment costs are the significant factor that drives asymmetric cost behavior. However, empirical proxies for labor adjustments costs have several limitations. This study suggests that CEO-to-worker pay disparity and the labor share as a new proxy for labor adjustment costs and substantiates that labor adjustment costs play a significant role in determining asymmetric cost behavior. Our proxies for adjustment costs represent the effectiveness of labor cost m

Abstract:
The objective of the project was to review and evaluate new technologies for protecting pipelines from third-party damage. The evaluation focused on the effectiveness, technical feasibility, cost and availability of technologies that show the most potential for reducing hits to pipelines. The three technologies reviewed in detail were Integrated Buried Markers, which consists of electronic markers and marker tapes; Advanced One-Call Systems, which incorporate GIS-based mapping, electronic ticket management, and web-based access to one-call centers; and the Magnetic Gradiometer, which is a loca

Abstract:
High-quality impact evaluations, including randomized experiments, are increasingly popular, but cannot always inform resource allocation decisions unless the costs of interventions are considered alongside their effects. Cost-effectiveness analysis is a straightforward but under-utilized tool for determining which, of two or more interventions provides a (non-pecuniary) unit of effect at least cost. This paper reviews the framework and methods of cost-effectiveness analysis, emphasizing education and health interventions, and discusses how the methods are applied in the literature.

Abstract:
This Evidence Snapshot review identifies innovative models of service delivery for Opioid Treatment Programs and their costs. The review was conducted to support improving access to treatment in NSW. Innovative models of opioid treatment identified were digital health, primary care, low threshold, group-based treatment, and mobile outreach as well as a combination of these models. Telemedicine models were most frequently mentioned in the peer reviewed literature as these addressed many traditional barriers to treatment, particularly for rural and hard to reach communities. Abstract:
A common criticism of antipoverty programs is that the high share of administrative (nontransfer) costs substantially reduces their effectiveness. Yet there is surprisingly little rigorous empirical evidence on program costs. This study proposes and implements a replicable methodology for a comparative cost analysis of three similar poverty alleviation programs in Honduras, Mexico and Nicaragua, and assesses their cost efficiency. The findings underscore that any credible assessment of cost-efficiency requires a detailed analysis of program cost structures that goes well beyond simply providin

Abstract:
This paper provides an alternative approach to measuring the cost-effectiveness of educational interventions. The authors devised a questionnaire and gave it to ten international experts, mainly located in universities and international agencies, all of whom were well acquainted with educational research and with practical attempts at educational reform in the region; as well as to about 30 Latin American planner/practitioners, most of them working in the planning office of their ministry of education. Each respondent was asked to estimate the impact of 40 possible primary school interventions
