Abstract:
The study aimed to investigate the strategies health professionals use in HIV/AIDS counseling. This study is a qualitative research, based on Paulo Freire's theory and practice. Bardin's content analysis was used as the analysis technique. For the studied group, the counseling is focused on cognition, although new concepts permeating this subject are emerging. The main difficulties in counseling are related to the clients and the institution. The main facility is related to the team, which according to the group has a good relationship. Counseling represents a moment of distress, especially because it brings up existential questions to the counselor. It can be inferred that counseling is a special moment, but it does not constitute an educational moment yet. To obtain this goal, a counseling methodology is proposed, based on Paulo Freire's principles and concepts.

Abstract:
The aim of the article is to analyze “criticism” and “understanding” in their relation to philosophical counseling. The article begins by the thesis on the need to define this type of counseling as an equivalent relationship between a counselor and a client. This claim is based mainly on the Socratic sense of the essence of philosophizing as a common pursuit of wisdom and cognition. Next, criticism and understanding which seem to be abstract concepts that belong to specific doctrines are considered as useful tools in the process of creating a philosophical attitude. In this sense, they acquire their existential aspect and prove useful in the practical application of philosophy.

Abstract:
Purpose This study aims to examine distinct influences of two dimension job stress on job satisfaction and the moderating effects of guanxi-oriented attitude on the relationship between job stress and job satisfaction under cognitive appraisal theory and transactional theory. Design/methodology/approach In this study, surveys are conducted among state-owned younger bank employees. The author uses the scale of job challenge stress and hindrance stress developed among Chinese younger bank employees to measure the two dimension job stress. After demonstrating guanxi-relative concepts, the moderating effects of guanxi-oriented attitude are examined in this study. Findings The results demonstrate that guanxi-oriented attitude does not significantly moderate the influence of challenge stress on job satisfaction, while it significantly moderates the noxious influence of hindrance stress on job satisfaction. Theoretical contributions are also discussed. Originality/value First, this study suggests specific procedures to conduct hierarchical regression analysis and confirms the effects by parameters. It also proposes and summarizes specific procedures on how to calculate regression equations and draw regression lines to check the interaction received from the hierarchical regression analysis visually. Second, based on cognitive appraisal theory, guanxi-oriented attitude, a Chinese indigenous cognitive concept, was verified in this study. According to the importance of guanxi in Chinese society, the paper shows that employees who value guanxi more will buffer the noxious effects of job stress. Trainings and counseling should be designed to regulate the normal guanxi-oriented-related cognition.

Abstract:
Background and Objectives: Medical sciences have developed tremendously but yet it has to understand the brain, mind, consciousness and cognition process. In this article, authors have made an attempt to present a process of cognition with a model of mind explained in yoga sutra of Patanjali. Material and Methods: Understanding the mind with the modern scientific tools is often difficult. Here an attempt has been made to understand mind with the help of various literature in yoga especially in yoga sutra of patanjali, a valid text of yoga. Hermeneutical approach, a method used in qualitative method of inquiry is used for this study. Reading, re-reading the texts and finding the meaning out of the text is the process used. Results: A model of mind has been proposed as finding of the study. This model of mind has a ‘chitta’ (Mind stuff) as a cognitive apparatus and important component for cognition. ‘Chitta’ interacts with the external manifested world (Prakriti). ‘Chitta’ has Mana, Buddhi and Ego as Antakahrana (internal organ) and ‘Indriyas’ (Five Gyanendriyas and Five Karmaindriyas) as external organ. This concept of mind and cognition works for the plane of ‘chitta-vritti’ state where vrittis are the external world. But YSP also talks about next plane of cognition which is beyond the scope of this study. Conclusion: A cognitive model explaining the concept of mind forms a major finding of this research. This finding may initiate future researches in the field of understanding the mental processing and acts as links between ancient wisdom of yoga and modern concept on mind and cognition and how they can complement each other. This model of concept of mind can also be used as concept for psychological counseling and psychological therapy. Abstract:
Self-esteem is one of the essential components that make up an individual's personality. The level of self-esteem possessed by an individual influences the development of self-concept, self-confidence, self-motivation, and personal resilience. Self-esteem develops since the individual realizes its function in the social environment. The case study in this study discusses the condition of one of the students currently studying at the Faculty of Medical of University X of Yogyakarta. The initial assessments used are the intelligence test, personality test, and self-esteem scale. It is concluded that the subject experienced low self-esteem which had an impact on self-confidence, motivation, and resilience ability in attending lectures. This condition also affects the academic achievement of the subject, which is unsatisfactory. This study purpose is to determine the effectiveness of counseling with cognitive-behavioral therapy approach on subjects who have low self-esteem. The techniques used in cognitive-behavioral counseling therapy are ABCDE techniques, Socratic questions, vertical arrows, and relaxation techniques. This study uses a single-case experimental design method. The result is that the subject found some negative beliefs that made him helpless with the situation, especially in academic activities. Then the subject was able to find another positive alternative belief so that the subject had a positive judgment on him. After the counselling process in several sessions, the subject has high self-esteem. The subject has a positive assessment of himself and does not see his weaknesses as a scourge that makes him helpless in carrying out daily activities, especially academic activities

ABSTRACT Hereditary ataxias (HA) represents an extensive group of clinically and genetically heterogeneous neurodegenerative diseases, characterized by progressive ataxia combined with extra-cerebellar and multi-systemic involvements, including peripheral neuropathy, pyramidal signs, movement disorders, seizures, and cognitive dysfunction. There is no effective treatment for HA, and management remains supportive and symptomatic. In this review, we will focus on the symptomatic treatment of the main autosomal recessive ataxias, autosomal dominant ataxias, X-linked cerebellar ataxias and mitochondrial ataxias. We describe management for different clinical symptoms, mechanism-based approaches, rehabilitation therapy, disease modifying therapy, future clinical trials and perspectives, genetic counseling and preimplantation genetic diagnosis.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to examine how multicultural counseling students expressed their understandings about themselves and others in relation to diversity. The authors wanted to know how cognitive development, affective development, and sense of self-evolved during a multicultural counseling class to examine all aspects of growth. Design/methodology/approach – Themes from a phenomenological qualitative analysis of journals from a multicultural counseling class suggest that students struggle with cognitive challenges (dealing with ambiguity, internalizing multicultural concepts, and self- and other-acceptance) and affective challenges (anger, guilt, and fear) in attaining multicultural growth. Findings – This expanded view of multicultural growth that includes affective challenges can fill a prior gap in understanding how multicultural learning occurs. Research limitations/implications – Implications are explored for counselor educators and supervisors. Originality/value – Recent use of journals to provide empirical insights into student growth include a study by Cohen et al. (2015), who used qualitative analyses of journal contents to examine growth in student attitudes toward geriatric clients, death, and dying. Knowing that student journals can provide insights into changing multicultural attitudes, and that qualitative methodology can provide tools for analysis, the authors decided that it might be possible to better understand multicultural growth by studying the journals written in a multicultural counseling class.

Abstract:
This article aims to illuminate new challenges in the field of vocational designing and career counseling in assisting persons planning for an uncertain and difficult future in the current economic climate in European and other Western nations. The first part of the paper starts with an analysis of the European socioeconomic context and provides a description of populations with significant career and life design needs: young people, older workers, migrants, temporary workers, women, people with disabilities, parents and children, employers. The second part of the paper focuses on an analysis of these challenges and suggests a revision of well-established vocational designing and career counseling assumptions in favor of a new form of awareness and new concepts. Social cognitive career theory (SCCT) and life design approaches are discussed as promising models to cope with the social, economic, and cultural challenges facing career counseling. Suggestions for interventions that could be implemented on a large scale, especially for at-risk populations and with preventive aims, are provided.

Diverse people living throughout the world have existed for many centuries. Perhaps, the United States may have one of the most diverse populations in recent memory. There are indications that human service organizations need to be more accessible when underrepresented groups either seek, or are in the pipeline of providers. To facilitate outcomes of all populations, we assert that the Multicultural Counseling Competencies (MCC) model that deals with awareness, knowledge, and skills should emphasize the application concept more. We operationalized cognitive, behavior and action, and application terms and applied these terms to the MCC in extensive examples. Additionally, we highlight that the use of the terms behavior and action are mistakenly conflated to mean application. Thus, decreasing application principles in the MCC. Abstract:
The paper deals with the relationship of students to the future, a relationship between time perspective and achievement motivation and the paper also implies a close connection of this issue with individual’s volition. The article focuses on the presentation of a research on how students relate to the future which was conducted in the years 2011-2014 (defended in 2014 as a doctoral thesis). On the theoretical level we deal with scientific basis of the time dimension in the human life, with a relation between time perspective and achievement motivation and the connection of these concepts to the theoretical approach to the topic of volition. The main emphasis is on cognitive-motivational and self-motivational concepts of time perspective (works of Gjesme, Nuttin, Lens, Zimbardo, from the Czech authors namely concept of perspective orientation by Pavelková) and on classical works on achievement motivation by Atkinson, Raynor and Heckhausen. Within the analysis of these theoretical concepts, we focused predominantly on the identification of overlaps, narrow ties and connections in described systems. In the field of volition research, we were inspired by the concept of self-control and self-regulatory aspects of volition by Kuhl and Fuhrmann. The main objective of the paper is to present a structured research of time perspective, achievement motivation and volition in students of primary and secondary schools. On the research we worked with data received from more than four hundred students of primary and secondary schools in the Czech Republic. The key objective is to obtain a basic description of the students’ relationship to future through individual research areas, further to empirically examine the relation between time perspective and achievement motivation of students and also to compare different approaches to time perspective (the concept of perspective orientation by Pavelková and Zimbardo’s theory of time perspective). Finally, through created students’ case reports we present inter-individually different authenticity of student’s relating to future. In the research, which was carried out on three levels, we benefited from combination of quantitative and qualitative research. In the conclusion, we suggest possible ways of further work with the findings within the career counselling at schools and which areas of career counselling we consider to be essential for improvement of self-regulatory skills of students.

Abstract:
AbstractCounselling children often requires the use of supplementary strategies in order to interest and engage the child in the therapeutic process. One such strategy is the Metaphorical Fruit Tree (MFT); an art metaphor suited to exploring and developing self-concept. Quantitative and qualitative data was used to explore the relationships between children's ability to use metaphor, age, gender, and level of emotional competence (N = 58). Quantitative and qualitative analyses revealed a significant negative relationship between self-reported emotional competence and ability to use the MFT. It is proposed that children rely on different processes to understand self and as children's ability to cognitively report on their emotional capabilities via the Emotional Competence Questionnaire (ECQ) increases, their ability to report creatively on those capabilities via the MFT is undermined. It is suggested that the MFT may be used, via creative processes and as an alternative to cognitive processes, to increase understanding and awareness of intrapersonal and interpersonal concepts of self in the child during counselling.

The special process between teacher and student, organised in child’s zone of proximal development with using reflection and reflective questions as mail helping tools, leads to qualitative changes firstly in cognitive development of the student. Successes in learning activity create base for development of personal features. Thus, in such process, we may see strong connections between cognitive and personal developmental trajectories. The International Journal Of Alcohol And Drug Research, 4(1), 45-51. doi:http://dx.doi.org/10.7895/ijadr.v4i1.202Aims: Paper discusses the impact of the neuroscientific concept of addiction and expectations related to neurosciences in a clinical setting for treatment of addiction disorders.Design: A case study based on qualitative analysis of scientific publications, research plans, presentations, and interviews of Finnish experts in gambling addictions.Setting: The case studied is a joint project for experimentation of medication (naltrexone) in treatment of gambling addiction by National Institute of Health and Welfare (THL) and Gambling Clinic, a center specialized in counseling for gambling addicts in Helsinki. Results: Although Finnish experts think that deep down all addictions share the same neural mechanisms, they consider gambling addiction a complex phenomenon. Clinical experiments seem to have two parallel objectives: neurophysiological malfunctions of the brain and the addict as the person. Two epistemologies and two concepts of addiction are working side by side in the clinical reasoning of the Finnish experts: the neurobiological one for framing the ‘addicted brain’, and the one derived from cognitive behavioral therapy for the addict. Conclusions: The role of the neurobiological concept of gambling addiction is to back up the therapeutic promise of the experimental project. In a reciprocal manner, the expectation to extend treatment options by the project findings justifies the neuroscientific approach.

While the resulting impasse blocked theoretical development for around four decades, pragmatic motivational techniques evolved regardless. These could be (probably to no avail) dismissed for not taking account of the deep theoretical problems. This article suggests instead to rearticulate them with the conceptual repertoire of liminal hotspots, which directs attention to the emergent nature of activities and collectives, and thus motives. This is done as part of an ongoing collaboration with counselors who experiment with different ways of helping young drug users without taking motivation as premise, in the sense of a prerequisite, for interventions. Data from recorded counseling sessions are analyzed and rearticulated, first in terms of the classical motivation–resistance contradiction; then through pragmatic approaches in counseling, i.e., the prevalent cognitive-client-centered form and the “solution-focused brief therapy” approach—and finally as motives emergent in liminal hotspots.

In view of the dual pressure of examination oriented and extra-curricular counseling in primary education, this paper discusses the relationship between knowledge acquisition and perceptual experience through the design of teaching aids according to the educational concept of reductive active learning method. Based on life style as logic, the interesting transmission mode is established, and the mechanical knowledge related to force and transmission is transformed into teaching aids that conform to the cognitive law of children aged 6-12. Children get sensory experience through practical operation. Therefore, it enriches the content of science course in primary school, and establishes the perceptual experience foundation for the later learning of mathematics, machinery and physics.

Abstract:
The present study investigates the relationship between school students' part-time employment and their academic engagement and psychological well-being. High school students completed a questionnaire assessing the quantity and quality of their employment, cognitive and behavioural aspects of their academic engagement, and levels of stress they were experiencing. Employed students reported significantly greater stress in terms of less ability to cope with day-to-day events than did students who were not employed. Employed students also reported comparatively lower levels of attentiveness and cognitive engagement at school than students who were not employed. Gender effects also emerged: boys appeared to benefit more from employment than girls both in terms of lower levels of depression and higher self-concept when work conditions were positive. Implications for both individual counselling and whole-school welfare are discussed.

Abstract:
Abstract Objectives Designing survey questions that clearly and precisely communicate the question's intent and elicit responses based on the intended interpretation is critical but often undervalued. We used cognitive interviewing to qualitatively assess respondents’ interpretation and responses to questions pertaining to maternal and child nutrition intervention coverage. Methods We conducted interviews with mothers (N = 21) with children less than one year in Madhya Pradesh, India, to cognitively test 25 survey questions. Each question was followed by probes to capture information on four cognitive stages - comprehension, retrieval, judgement, and response. Interviews were recorded and notes were taken on verbal and non-verbal cues. Data were analyzed for common and unique patterns across the survey questions within the cognitive domains and grouped into challenges. Results We identified four types of cognitive challenges: 1) Poor retention of multiple concepts in long questions: difficulty in comprehending and retaining questions with three or more key concepts; 2) Temporal confusion: difficulty in conceptualizing recall periods such as “in the last 6 months” as compared to life stages such as pregnancy; 3) Misinterpretation of concepts: misinterpretation of the information being asked; meaning of certain terms such as “animal-source foods” was considered as referring to meat products only and not milk and eggs; scope of intervention using the phrase “talk with you” in referring to counseling was interpreted in different ways by respondents; and 4) Poor understanding of technical terms: difficulty in understanding even commonly-used technical words such as “breastfeeding” and “antenatal care” requiring the use of plain and simple alternative language. Conclusions Findings from this study will be useful for stakeholders involved in survey design and implementation, especially those conducting large-scale household surveys to improve coverage data of essential nutrition interventions, which is critical for policy actions Funding Sources Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through the DataDENT initiative and the Improving Measurement and Program Design grant, and the CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH), led by the International Food Policy Research Institute.

Abstract:
This is a correlational study design to determine the relationship between creativity and self-concept on students' academic achievement in Colleges of Education in Borno State. The study set three research objectives and tested three research hypotheses. For the purpose of this study, two main approaches were used; cognitive approaches were applied to creativity while humanistic approaches were also applied to self-concept. The uniqueness of this study lies in the area where Xiaxia (1999) investigated gender differences in their examination of the relationship between creativity and academic achievement. While this study focuses on creativity and self-concept on students’ academic achievement, the target population for this study was 4,517 students who have registered in NCE awarding institutions in Borno State. Purposive sampling technique was used to select two Colleges of Education in Borno State, the stratified random sampling procedure was also employed to select 322 participants 186 students from 351 NCE III students’ from Kashim Ibrahim College o f Education, Maiduguri and 136 students from 210 NCE III students from Umar Ibn Ibrahim College of Education, Science and Technology, Bama. Students’ Creativity Test (SCT) and Students’ Self-concept Scale (SUSS) was used by the researchers. Pearson ‘r’ was used to test the hypotheses raised in this study. The results indicated a very low and positive relationship between creativity and self-concept among students of Colleges of Education, the results indicated a high and positive relationship between the two variables and the results also indicated a very high and positive relationship between the two variables. Based on the results obtained the following Counselling strategy are suggested; there is the need for counselling personnel to guide the students on how well they should improve their creativity and self-concept through enhancing the students ’ imaginative thinking and improvised their needs by the authority

Abstract:
Assisting children and adolescents in adopting physically active lifestyles is an integral part of the health education and health promotion services provided by nurses in school, family, community, and primary care settings. In order to effectively engage in physical activity counseling, the determinants of physical activity must he understood and integrated into effective interventions for youths. This review of research literature includes a critique of intervention studies aimed at helping children and adolescents adopt active lifestyles that will be sustained throughout life. Social cognitive theory provided the theoretical basis for most of the studies reviewed but specification of how theory concepts were operationalized in the interventions was often unclear. Suggestions for increasing the rigor of theoretically based intervention studies aimed at promoting physical activity are proposed. Models and variables are identified that need further testing to determine their relevance to the promotion of physical activity during childhood and adolescence.

A preliminary model is presented describing applications of the filling of the Holy Spirit to psychological aspects of Christian living. Anthropological deficits in secular psychology and evangelical systems are described. Related topics include expectancy, defense mechanisms, self-image, and cognitive appraisal. The concept of “biblical humanism” is applied to new creations in Christ as a function of the ongoing filling of the Holy Spirit. Although many Christian clients have considerable spiritual resources, their ability to organize and access them effectively can be seriously impaired unless they are able to apply the integrative, dynamic resource of the Holy Spirit actively to their life development and stress challenges on a continuous basis. Truly Christian counseling must ultimately include addressing the activities of the Holy Spirit in Christian living at some level.

Abstract:
Introduction. In a modern dynamic society, new vocations and fields of activity are constantly emerging. The goal of the modern vocational education, information and counselling is to enable the individual to develop a career in the whole life course, full of changes and events. Former approaches have proved inadequate; therefore, new ways are being sought. Therefore, it is necessary to design approaches in managing careers, including those with special needs, and which counselling approaches for a career are best suited to an increasingly dynamic labour market. Aim and task. The basic research goal is to find all those innovations in theories and practices that appear in newer career guidance and career counselling approaches. For that purpose,, an longitudinal analysis of articles, studies, guidelines has been carried out that are accessible on web portals. Thus, the most important innovations that are often found in recent theories and practices are revealed. Results. System theories and constructivism in career guidance represent an urgent response to changes in a dynamic society, but still include some parts of previous theories and practices. Meaning, the present essentially implies the accumulating and merging of previous approaches that deal with individuals in a way that individuals become agents who manage their own careers. The most important innovations are: learning as the individual's own project, narrative approach with storytelling, reconstruction of self-esteem, self-determination, nonlinear career, empathy in counselling, decision-making autonomy, no directed counselling. So new constructivist perspective continues to influence career theory and practice. Conclusions. The study shows that it is impossible to talk about the best universal theories or approaches in the field of career guidance and career counselling, but about the most usable ones, in the given circumstances. The development of practices in career guidance and counselling is most influenced by psychology, and recently also by social-cognitive psychology, but the influence of other disciplines, such as sociology, ethics, economics and others, is increasing. Innovations that have been identified show the integration of diverse concepts; in particular, the contextual view that appears also in other social sciences. In emphasizing the active nature of individuals as self-building, self-renewing and self-organizing system within constructivist approach, it is viewed as important underpinning for the practice which is responding to ever changing times.

Abstract:
The article examines the biography and scientific legacy of Eugenia Moiseevna Hanfmann (1905—1983), a Russian—American emigrant psychologist, specialist in the field of psychology of cognitive processes, psychopathology of thinking and psychological counseling. The article outlines her scientific activity in Germany and the USA and collaborations with K. Koffka, T. Dembo, D. Shakov, K. Goldstein, M. Rickers- Ovsiankina, J. Kasanin, H. Murray. It is argued that in her works Hanfmann further developed the ideas of L.S. Vygotsky: modified the method for concept formation (together with J. Kasanin), applied it to the study of conceptual thinking in patients with schizophrenia as well as to the study of personal patterns of intellectual performance, translated the work "Thinking and Speech" for the first time into English (1962), wrote a sketch on Vygotsky’s scientific activity, found the generality of both Vygotsky’s and K. Goldstein’s results of studies of conceptual thinking violations in patients with schizophrenia. Hanfmann was one of the few Vygotsky's followers in the Russian psychological community abroad.

Abstract:
Introduction. The article presents the results of a study of adolescents` personal narratives. The general aim of the study was to identify narrative indicators of adolescents’ maladaptive cognitive schemas. This aim was achieved by virtue of realization of such tasks as: to identify the specific text categories (indicators) that indicate the maladaptive schemas and to determine the predictive power of each category (indicator). In the course of theoretical analysis, there were systematized the approaches to the understanding of personal narratives and “self-texts”. There also was generalized the concept of maladaptive cognitive schemas, and were defined textual categories which can be reflected in the narratives of people who have certain maladaptive schemas. Methods. The methods of the empirical study were Dusseldorf Illustrated Schema Questionnaire for Children and the content-analysis of personal narratives. Statistical processing of the obtained data and determination of the predictive power of each narrative category were performed with the help of the method of recursive division trees. Results. As a result of the empirical study was it was found that certain categories in the personal narratives of adolescents allow us to predict the manifestation of individual maladaptive schemas. There were identified narrative indicators, able to predict fourteen of the eighteen schemas. It was determined that the knowledge of narrative indicators of maladaptive cognitive schemas can be used within the psychological counseling and therapy at the stage of gathering primary information, as well as in the context of purposeful psychological impact. Conclusions. There were described the topical prospects for further scientific development of the problem, which were to expand the categorical structure of content analysis, which would allow to find indicators of four schemas that remain unclear, as well as to widen the age range of respondents and to test the hypothesis about the existence of a link between the personal narratives of adults and their maladaptive schemas. There was made an assumption that modification of a personal narrative can accelerate therapeutic work aimed at eliminating the negative impact of maladaptive schemas on a person's life.

Abstract:
Abstract Researchers have increasingly paid attention to the neural dynamics of depression. This study examined whether self-dependent neural variability predicts recovery from depressive symptoms. Sixty adults with depressive symptoms who were not officially diagnosed with major depressive disorder participated in this study. Participants completed functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) scanning, including a resting-state and a self-reflection task. The fMRI data were used to estimate neural variability, which refers to the temporal variability in regional functional connectivity patterns. Participants then completed the Self-Construal Scale and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). The change in BDI scores over 3 months indicated the degree of recovery from depressive symptoms. Self-construal moderated the effects of general neural variability on predicting recovery from depressive symptoms. Interdependent individuals became less depressive with higher general neural variability, but the relationship was not significant in independent individuals. The differences in neural variability between self-related and other-related conditions also predicted recovery from depressive symptoms. The regions contributing to the prediction were mainly distributed in the default-mode network. Based on these results, the harmony between individuals’ neural dynamics and self-concept is important for recovery from depressive symptoms, which might be a foundation for individualized treatment and counseling.

Abstract:
This study aims to explore the reasons why employees of semiconductor manufacturing plants make a turnover decision, and their experiences on the factors that influence the withdrawal of a turnover decision during an exit interview with one’s superior and a human resources department staff in charge. The total number of participants was twelve, and the data was collected by conducting an in-depth interview and analyzed by Consensual Qualitative Research (CQR) method. The study results showed that there were three determinants of making a turnover decision: personal reasons irrelevant to an organization, conflicts with one’s superior, colleagues and subordinates, and a stress due to uncontrollable tasks. Four major factors that influence one’s withdrawal of a turnover decision during an exit interview with one’s superior and a human resources staff in charge were found: the interviewer him or herself, interviewer’s interview skills and attitude, participants’s cognitive and emotional changes, and the problem solving. Following the making of a turnover decision and a withdrawal, the participants experienced the weakening of a self-concept and the changes to their perspectives on an organization. This study is meaningful in the following respects. The research aimed at the members of an organization who actually had a turnover decision, and examined the factors that influenced the withdrawal of a turnover decision through an exit interview process for the first time. This study could serve as the basis when introducing a workplace counseling system or a training program for counseling techniques within an organization or a company, whilst also contributing significantly to the development of interview, leadership and communication training programs for the managers carrying out employee interviews within an organization.

Abstract:
Background Anxiety and depression are common among university students, and university counseling centers are under pressure to develop effective, novel, and sustainable interventions that engage and retain students. Group interventions delivered via the internet could be a novel and effective way to promote student mental health. Objective We conducted a pragmatic open trial to investigate the uptake, retention, treatment response, and level of satisfaction with a remote group cognitive behavioral therapy intervention designed to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression delivered on the web to university students during the COVID-19 pandemic. Methods Preintervention and postintervention self-reported data on anxiety and depression were collected using the Generalized Anxiety Disorder-7 and Patient Health Questionnaire-9. Satisfaction was assessed postintervention using the Client Satisfaction with Treatment Questionnaire. Results A total of 175 students were enrolled, 158 (90.3%) of whom initiated treatment. Among those initiating treatment, 86.1% (135/158) identified as female, and the mean age was 22.4 (SD 4.9) years. The mean number of sessions attended was 6.4 (SD 2.8) out of 10. Among participants with clinically significant symptoms at baseline, mean symptom scores decreased significantly for anxiety (t56=11.6; P<.001), depression (t61=7.8; P<.001), and composite anxiety and depression (t60=10.7; P<.001), with large effect sizes (d=1-1.5). Remission rates among participants with clinically significant baseline symptoms were 67.7%-78.9% and were not associated with baseline symptom severity. High overall levels of satisfaction with treatment were reported. Conclusions The results of this study serve as a proof of concept for the use of web-based group cognitive behavioral therapy to promote the mental health of university students.

The focus is on understanding the importance of management consulting, which helps identify which places in the organization are most vulnerable, adjusts the activities of the organization as a whole and in turn, is divided into strategic, marketing and personnel. It is proved that the study of the discipline «Pedagogical Consulting» in the training of the second (master) level should enrich students with knowledge about the possibilities and effectiveness of consulting counseling, psychological and pedagogical audit, skills of consultants-trainers who coordinate activities in small organizations and groups, master the skills to develop programs for innovative development of the team and conduct various types of diagnostics, etc. It is determined that in the process of teaching the discipline the main attention should be paid to the acquisition of professional competencies by students; intensification of educational and cognitive activities of students, which involves the use of both active and interactive learning technologies; the use of certain methods of activating the learning process. A necessary element of successful mastering of the discipline material is independent work of students, and the system of assessment of formed competencies in students, which considers the types of classes stimulates daily systematic work of masters and increases motivation of masters to master management educational programs based on evaluation of their work

Abstract:
Background: Quality of life (QOL) is a broad, multidimensional concept that usually includes subjective evaluations of both positive and negative aspects of life. Very few studies have been carried out on QOLIE 31 in India and research in this area will identify factors affecting QOL. study was therefore conducted to determine the level of health related QOL of patients of epilepsy in a tertiary care teaching hospital. To evaluate patterns of the use of anti-epileptic drugs (AEDs) and their impact on the Quality of Life (QOL) in patients with epilepsy. Methods: The study was a hospital based cross sectional study conducted by the Department of Pharmacology in association with the Department of Medicine, Government Medical College, Srinagar. A total number of 134 patients, aged >18 years were studied for a period of one and a half years, January 2015-July 2016. QOLIE‑31 questionnaire was used for collecting data on health‑related QOL.Results: The mean overall QOLIE-31 score was 53 corresponding to a t-score of 44. Amongst the QOLIE-31 subscales, the highest mean score was the cognitive subscale (73.6) followed by medication effects (55.5) and social functions (52).Conclusions: It is evident from our study that there are many factors that influence QOL of people with epilepsy. Among them, type of drug therapy plays an important role. Adding clinical counselling and other interventions to address the physical, mental, psychological, social, and emotional aspects of health wellbeing is likely to achieve better health outcomes for epilepsy patients.

Abstract:
The importance and value of behavioral sciences in dentistry have long been recognized, and their contribution to dental education, research, clinical practice, and oral health policy has been significant over the past half century. Over time behavioral sciences have expanded our understanding of oral health beyond “disease” to a broader biopsychosocial concept of oral health. This in turn has led dentistry away from a focus of “treatment” to oral health “care,” notably in the new millennium. Key oral health behaviors have been identified for more than half a century: the importance of diet, oral hygiene, dental services, and other factors. Various behavioral models and theories have been proposed, particularly since the 1970s, providing useful frameworks with sound psychological basis to help understand the paths of oral health behaviors. These models draw on theories of self-efficacy, motivation, counseling, and “behavior change.” Since the 1980s, there has been a greater understanding that these behaviors often share a common pathway with the etiology of other diseases (common risk factors). Furthermore, the relationship between individual factors and the broader environmental factors has been increasingly emphasized since the 1990s, leading to a united call for action in addressing oral health inequalities. Within the past decade, there are useful examples of models, frameworks, and techniques of behavior change with respect to oral health, involving planning, prompting, encouraging, goal setting, and/or motivating. In particular, there is a growing interest and use of motivational interviewing. Likewise, behavioral therapies, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, are increasingly being employed in dental practice in the management of dental anxiety, pain, and psychosomatic dental and oral problems, with promising results. Recommendations are outlined for future directions for behavioral sciences in the promotion of oral health.

Abstract:
Purpose – The purpose of this paper is to describe theoretical background, concepts and materials for MEDIA PROTECT, a new elementary-school parent counselling programme to reduce problematic and, in the long term, addictive use of screen media via slowing the increase in screen equipment in children's bedrooms and promoting screen-free leisure activities. The aim of the pilot phase of MEDIA PROTECT was the implementation at a project school with a process evaluation by parents as well as teachers as a basis for improvements prior to a subsequent randomised controlled trial phase. Design/methodology/approach – At t1 and t2, questionnaires were handed out to all 220 families to record media use routines and media-related parenting styles. Advice on media education, information on media effects, plus hands-on technical support for installing protection software were offered to meet the support needs of different parental target groups recorded at t1 (pre-intervention). At t2, parents and teachers assessed MEDIA PROTECT regarding organisation, facilitators, content and duration/length. Findings – In the pilot phase, 60 per cent of families attended the 45-minute face-to-face input, for which high overall satisfaction (53 per cent ‘very high’, 45 per cent ‘high’) was reported. The written material was also rated ‘good’ (59 per cent) or ‘very good’ (33 per cent). Parents reported moderate positive changes in media-related parenting style. Teachers voted for the inclusion of a mandatory half-day teacher training session in the programme. Originality/value – The primary prevention of problematic media use is a neglected issue. This is despite the fact that ever younger age groups spend increasing portions of their time with screen media, which impairs physical, socio-emotional and cognitive development of children, especially those who are already vulnerable and disadvantaged.

Abstract:
Background: One of the obstacles to TB management today has been non-compliance. Non-compliance of TB patients in treatment can be influenced by the perception of self-efficacy.Objective: The study aimed to analyze the effect of psychological and health education approaches based on self-efficacy on adherence with tuberculosis patients.Design: Design research uses systematic review based on PRISMA checklist.Data Sources: Using three databases: Scopus, Science direct, and CINAHL. The three databases are of high and medium reputation. The search was conducted from June to July 2020. The keywords in this systematic review are “mycobacterium tuberculosis” OR "tuberculosis" OR "pulmonary TB", "adherence OR Compliance" and "psychology OR health education OR self-efficacy". Searching are limited to journal articles, 2012-2020 publication years and English language articles.Review Methods: To assess the quality of articles is using the JBI Critical Appraisal Tool and PRISMA checklist as a guide to filter articles. Results: A total of 10 articles were analyzed according to inclusion criteria. The results obtained as many as 6 studies are randomized control Trials, 2 studies use Quasi-Experiment, and 2 observational studies. The number of samples varied from 19 to 361 respondents. Age from 15 to 65 and above. Gender characteristics are dominated by men and the study was multi-regional. and most levels of education at the elementary and junior high school levels. The psychological and health education approaches based on self-efficacy are divided into several approaches that are proven to increase compliance including: psychotherapy, mindfulness, counseling and education, Medication Adherence Enhancement Program (MAEP).Conclusion: Psychological approaches and Health Education based on self-efficacy consist of various interventions. The articles analyzed mostly use the HBM concept. There needs to be a self-efficacy development program that not only emphasizes the individual and cognitive, but also needs social and family support in improving self-efficacy, so that it affects the effectiveness of treatment. "Development of a Mobile Health Intervention with Personal Experiments for Smokers Who Are Ambivalent About Quitting: Formative Design and Testing." Abstract:
Background The majority of cigarette smokers want to quit someday but are not ready to commit to long-term abstinence. However, available smoking cessation treatments are not well-suited to meet the needs of these ambivalent smokers. Low-cost, high-reach mobile health (mHealth) interventions may be a cost-efficient means of offering assistance to ambivalent smokers, yet there are currently no evidence-based options available for this group. Objective The aim of this study was to develop and preliminarily evaluate the core content for an mHealth program targeting adult smokers who are ambivalent about quitting. The core content consisted of a series of “personal experiments” similar to those tested as part of a counseling intervention in prior work, including brief cognitive or behavioral tasks designed to boost readiness for changing smoking behavior. Methods We conducted individual user interviews (N=3) to refine program content, and then conducted a one-arm pilot study (N=25) to assess user receptivity and the potential impact of the experiments on motivation and self-efficacy to quit or reduce smoking. Results In user interviews, participants liked the concept of the personal experiments. Participants in the pilot study found a medium-fidelity prototype to be highly acceptable. After watching a brief orientation video that explained how the program works, most participants (80%, 20/25) indicated that it sounded interesting, primarily because it did not require any commitment to quit. All participants (100%, 25/25) completed all 7 experiments, including a 24-hour quit attempt, although not all were able to refrain from smoking for a full day based on qualitative feedback on the experiment. The mean rating of usefulness of the overall program was 4.12 (SD 1.09) out of 5, and the average rating of the difficulty of the experiments was 2.16 (SD 1.18) out of 5. At the last assessment point, 92% (23/25) of the participants indicated that they were more interested in either quitting or cutting back than when they began the program, and 72% (18/25) said that if the program had included a free trial of nicotine replacement therapy, they would have used it to try to quit smoking. Conclusions This formative work confirmed that ambivalent smokers are willing to use and will remain engaged with an mHealth intervention that employs the novel concept of personal experiments to enhance their motivation for and ability to quit smoking. The addition of action-oriented treatment (self-help and free nicotine replacement therapy, quitline referral) could further support users’ efforts to stop smoking and remain quit.

Abstract:
Background: The uptake and use of hearing aids is low compared to the prevalence of hearing impairment. People who seek help and take part in a hearing aid rehabilitation process participate actively in this process in several ways. Purpose: In order to gain more knowledge on the challenges of hearing help-seeking and hearing aid use, this qualitative study sought to understand the ways that people with hearing impairment describe themselves as active participants throughout the hearing aid rehabilitation process. Research Design: In this qualitative interview study we examined the hearing rehabilitation process from the perspective of the hearing impaired. In this article we describe how the qualitative interview material was interpreted by a pragmatic qualitative thematic analysis. The analysis described in this article focused on the efforts, initiatives, actions, and participation the study participants described that they had engaged in during their rehabilitation. Study Sample: Interviews were conducted with people with hearing impairment in Australia, Denmark, the United Kingdom, and the United States. The 34 interview participants were distributed equally between the sites, just as men and women were almost equally represented (56% women). The average age of the participants was 64. All participants had a hearing impairment in at least one ear. The participants were recruited to represent a range of experiences with hearing help-seeking and rehabilitation. Data Collection and Analysis: With each participant one qualitative semistructured interview ranging between 1 and 2 hr was carried out. The interviews were transcribed verbatim, read through several times, and themes were identified, defined, and reviewed by an iterative process. Results: From this thematic focus a concept called “client labor” has emerged. Client labor contains nine subthemes divided into three overarching groups: cognitive labor, emotional labor, and physical labor. The participants' experiences and meaning-making related to these conceptual types of efforts is described. Conclusions: The study findings have implications for the clinical encounter between people with hearing impairment and hearing health-care professionals. We suggest that a patient-centered approach that bears in mind the client's active participation could help toward improving clinical dispensing, fitting, and counseling practices with the end goal to increase hearing aid benefit and satisfaction.
