Abstract:
The exponential growth of online transactions in Indonesia has intensified the competition among courier service providers to ensure efficient goods delivery, prompting the need for exceptional performance. However, this surge has also brought forth various challenges, including imbalanced courier allocation, intricate delivery routes, and sprawling coverage areas, resulting in delays and extended working hours for couriers. This research, conducted in Jakarta, centers on a logistics and courier service company grappling with a critical courier shortage, leading to overburdened personnel and extended work hours. To address this issue, we employed graph coloring, rooted in graph theory, as a novel approach to determine the ideal number of couriers based on the route and delivery area. Through graph coloring, delivery routes, and areas can be optimized so that each courier has the same average route length and area and does not exceed the threshold limit set by the company. The number of delivery routes and areas generated from graph coloring shows the number of couriers required for the company. The results of this research obtained 27 routes that show the need for the ideal courier frequency so that the delivery of goods can be on time without extending the courier's working hours.

Abstract:
Crowdsourcing delivery has emerged as an innovative solution for last-mile delivery in the sharing economy era. However, enhancing courier continuance participation intention is an increasing challenge for crowdsourcing delivery platforms due to the independence of crowdsourced couriers. Given that couriers and customers are subject to interdependencies and may influence each other in delivery service systems, this paper utilizes a dyadic analysis to examine how courier–customer interactions may influence the continuance participation intention of couriers. Specifically, we investigate the influence mechanism of customer satisfaction and courier job satisfaction, as well as the mediating role of courier pay satisfaction, drawing upon the balance theory and distributive justice theory. The empirical results of 261 courier–customer dyads indicate that the customer side impacts the courier side in both direct and indirect ways. There is a direct satisfaction transmission in courier–customer delivery service interactions. Meanwhile, satisfied customers indirectly enhance courier job satisfaction via the mediator of courier pay satisfaction, which in turn strengthens courier continuance participation intention. Our study offers novel insights for administrators on the influence of courier–customer interactions and pay satisfaction on courier continuance participation intention, contributing to decreasing couriers’ turnover in the fluid crowdsourcing labor market.

Based on this data, research findings include COD service contracts and courier responsibilities, transaction status, and relationships between parties. COD service contracts include shirkah, ijarah, and grants. Meanwhile, the courier's responsibility as a consequence of the ijarah contract is yad domanah. Transaction status on COD services is luzum, fasah, and mauquf. For the relationship between parties, the buyer and courier are musta'jir and ajir, the seller and courier are muwakkil and wakil and the relationship between seller and buyer is bai' and mushtary. Based on Izzuddin Ibnu Abdi Salam's maslahah approach, an e-commerce courier contract is an act of creating happiness and enjoyment using jalbu al-masalih wa dar`u al-mafasid which falls into the categories of hajiyat, duniawiy and majaziy

Abstract:
E-commerce became one of the technological developments in Indonesia in the fourth industrial revolution. Since then, the daily needs transaction process has become accessible through the e-commerce platform. The rapid development of e-commerce is predicted to increase and thus encourage the development of courier services over the past period, making courier services an essential element that affects customer satisfaction in e-commerce services. An analysis of customer satisfaction in several e-commerce service providers towards customer reviews on Google Play conducted by Sasmita and a statement by the Ministry of Trade through a consumer complaint report in 2021 stated that complaints about problems in the e-commerce sector have increased, which includes courier services incorporated with e-commerce service providers. Gulc argued that at least seven factors determine the quality of courier service based on the customer's perspective. The AHP method assists courier services affiliated with e-commerce services in recognizing which of these seven factors of courier service quality dimensions require attention to create a sustainable competitive advantage. This research aims to measure the priority level of criteria in determining the quality of courier services on e-commerce platforms, thus providing recommendations for the appropriate service priorities for courier service companies. The calculation results using AHP on the seven factors determining the quality of courier service according to the Manager Assistant of the Service Department at the Central Purwokerto Branch of the Kantor POS Indonesia show that the responsiveness criterion is more important than the other six criteria.

Abstract:
Service quality perceived by clients should be a crucial element in the process of co-creating sustainable services. This article aimed to examine relationships between five constructs: the usefulness of courier services, the ease of use of courier services, the trust in courier services, the service quality, and the future intention to use courier services. This research focuses on courier services. An electronic questionnaire was used to conduct confidential interviews. It was distributed between January and March 2019. The number of questionnaires returned by courier service customers amounted to 1073. The authors used generalized least squares (GLS) of structural equation modelling (GLS-SEM) to verify the hypotheses. The obtained results confirmed statistically significant relationships between the variables of the ease of use and the trust in service, the usefulness and the trust in service, the trust in service and the service quality and finally, the service quality and the future intention to use the services. The obtained results confirmed an important role of technological aspects in courier service quality, which will become the main determinant of the development of this sector in the future. The authors proposed a new approach to the definition of trust in service. Apart from the interpersonal trust, they shed more light on the trust in the supplier, i.e., the trust in the used technologies.

Abstract:
The recent online business blossom has stimulated the soaring demand for logistics service, or rather, courier service, which emerged as a robust momentum of economic growth worldwide. So, to satisfy the fast-changing online businesses, courier services have been urged to be more creative to ensure the desired efficient movement of goods and services along the supply chain, especially in logistics and parcel deliveries. How could the courier service be more creative? What makes courier service creative has not yet been fully explored. Therefore, this study aimed to unveil the antecedents of creativity of courier services from the perspective of managing knowledge which is regarded as the source of wisdom. Taking into consideration the logistical nature of courier service, the proposed framework integrates logistics into knowledge management, and focuses on empirically detecting its relationship with creativity in the context of Malaysia. The results prove that the logistics-related knowledge management (LRKM) affects creativity in a significant and positive manner. However, amongst the four select constructs, only the logistics-related knowledge dissemination (LRKD) followed by the logistics-related knowledge responsiveness (LRKR) are significant operational contributors in the development of creativity in courier services. The logistics-related knowledge generation (LRKG) and logistics-related shared interpretation (LRKS) have not yet appeared significant, which is mainly due to the current insufficient development of the courier service in Malaysia. It indicates that to further enhance creativity, courier service providers should attach importance on managing knowledge of logistics operation, especially in the respects of dissemination and responsiveness, while more efforts shall be exerted to the generation and shared interpretation as both are still having positive potentials towards creativity. This study is amongst the pioneers to cross-extend the theory of logistics management and knowledge management into the courier service industry, and it also expands the application of the theory of creativity into the courier service industry. Future study could further examine the inter-relationships among the detected constructs, the effects of creativity of courier service on the performance of e-business firms, and so on.

Abstract:
Courier services are businesses that deliver documents, parcels and heavy products from one place to another. Courier services are gaining popularity nowadays due to their efficient and reliable delivery. However, the existence of many courier service companies today has led to fierce commercial competition both domestically and globally. Since there are many decision alternatives and criteria to consider, consumers face a significant challenge in choosing the best courier service. As a result, selecting the optimal courier service involves a process of Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). The objective of this study is to determine the preferred courier service based on undergraduates’ preferences using an integrated AHP-TOPSIS model. The AHP-TOPSIS model is proposed in this study to tackle the MCDM problem as choosing the optimal courier service involves various decision criteria. In this research, AHP is proposed to identify the priority of decision criteria, whereas TOPSIS is utilized to determine the ranking of the courier service providers. Additionally, this study aims to determine the priority of decision criteria. As a result of this research, GD Express was identified as the most preferred courier service provider, followed by DHL, FedEx, Skynet Express, PosLaju, and City-Link Express. Furthermore, the top three influencing factors are freight rates, timeliness and reliability. The significance of this study lies in identifying the most preferred courier service and the most influential decision criterion in the decision-making process. The study can serve as a reference for the less popular courier service companies, assisting them in identifying weaknesses and making enhancements according to the decision criteria’ ranking.

Abstract:
Particularly as individuals migrate from conventional to online shopping because of the epidemic, courier services are essential for the economy. Establishing long-term bonds and guaranteeing consistent and trustworthy services depend on confidence. Service quality can be hampered, though, by road congestion and unsuccessful deliveries. This study evaluates consumer trust in courier services by means of the SERVQUAL model; therefore, it addresses service quality. More perceived performance suggests more improved service quality. Evaluating service quality enables operators to modify their activities to satisfy consumer expectations and acquire a competitive edge. Courier services may remain competitive and help local communities by concentrating on service quality and understanding consumer demands. The study aimed to assess the impact of service quality in customers’ trust to courier services towards possible business strategies proposal. The study found that service quality predicts customers' trust in courier service providers, with assurance being the best predictor. Tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy are essential for trust. The null hypothesis was rejected, indicating a significant impact of service quality on customer trust. A proposed business strategy was developed to enhance or maintain service quality and customer trust.

Abstract:
Service Learning is an instructional approach that has been gaining national attention in the past several years. The concept was supported by John Dewey as early as 1915 but not given serious attention by educational leaders until about 30 years ago. Currently, a growing number of schools across the country are incorporating community service activities into the curriculum. In this study, seven individuals who were enrolled in such a course while in high school were interviewed. The purpose of this phenomenological study was to describe the perceptions and experiences of these former high school students while enrolled in a service learning course coupled with the passage of time to reflect upon the experience. The major research questions were: 1. Does service learning foster in students the perception of a more empathetic nature in their understanding of the recipients of the service work? 2. Are the perceptions of the students as to their desire to perform volunteer work in the future affected by service learning experiences? 3. How do students perceive the usefulness of the service learning curriculum as to linking classroom work with the volunteer experience? Service learning was defined generally as a structured elective course that combines classroom instruction with volunteer service in the community. A qualitative design was chosen for the research as this method allowed for a more in depth description of the main focus of the study--the perceptions of these former students. The findings from this study support the inclusion of service learning courses in high schools; however, there was an overall consensus from the seven participants that work must be done by educators in order to provide more structured and viable curriculums for these courses. The participant responses were generally favorable regarding their actual volunteer experiences, supporting the assertion that volunteer work supported by a well designed service learning course increases a student's ability to feel empathy for others along with the desire to be a lifelong volunteer.<br>Ed. Abstract:
The article is devoted to the issue of a cloud-based learning system implementation as a powerful strategy for future specialists’ training at higher educational establishments. Using cloud computing in self-work management of the university courses is essential to equip students with a workload of appropriate educational materials and variable activities for professional training. Theoretical and empirical research methods were applied to select the appropriate services and tools for organizing students’ self-work at university. Critical analysis of scientific literature, synthesis of the data, didactic observation of the educational process, designing of the skeleton for university courses, questionnaires enabled to facilitate the study of the issue. G Suite has been chosen to enhance the quality of training of prospective specialists at a higher educational establishment. This paper introduces the outcomes of the project on applying Google Classroom in the management of students’ self-work while studying university courses. The focus of the first stage of the project was on testing pilot versions of the courses with the aim to work out the requirements and recommendations for incorporation general blended learning model of university courses. Particular attention is drawn to the designed model of the university course based on the curriculum with the necessary components of blended learning in the G Suite virtual environment. Cloud-based higher education is considered as a prospective tool for design of university courses with the need for further research and implementation.

Abstract:
INDES provides training programmes for public officials in Latin America and the Caribbean .Its current courses currently emphasize strategies for poverty reduction and the provision of social services, particularly education and health. INDES is considering extending its programme to include discussion of a current orphan of social policy, housing and shelter. This poses three questions. First, why is housing deserving of inclusion in its training course? Second, what are the interesting intellectual questions being raised in the housing field? And, finally, if a housing component were to be included in the course, what should be included in it? Answering those questions is the main purpose of the paper.

Steinmann, Peter. Can in-service health professional training improve the resuscitation of seriously ill newborns and children in low-income countries? SUPPORT, 2016. http://dx.doi.org/10.30846/1608152.

Full text
Abstract:
Mortality among seriously ill neonates and children remains high in many low -income countries, even in healthcare facilities with professional staff. Most of these deaths occur within 48 hours of admission. In-service training courses in the emergency care of neonates and children are targeted towards professional healthcare staff. This is seen as a way of reducing mortality through training. However, most courses have been developed in high-income countries and their potential effectiveness in low-income country settings is unclear.
