In this paper, study the optimization problem of multibeam sounding, firstly, simplify the working principle of multibeam sounding, establish the coordinate system with the horizontal plane and the center point of the sea area, and use trigonometry and triangle similarity to establish a model of the coverage width and overlap rate of multibeam sounding. The coverage width, seawater depth and overlap rate are obtained at different line spacing, and the seawater depth is about 64.763m and the coverage width is about 224.345m with an overlap rate of about 10.85% at a line spacing of 200m. Metagenomics allows studying genetic potentials of microorganisms without prior cultivation. Since metagenome assembly results in fragmented genomes, a key challenge is to cluster the genome fragments (contigs) into more or less complete genomes. The goal of this project was to investigate how well CONCOCT bins assembled contigs into taxonomically relevant clusters using the abundance profiles of the contigs over multiple samples. This was done by studying the effects of different parameter settings for CONCOCT on the clustering results when clustering metagenome contigs from in silico model c

Unit testing is an important part of software testing that aids in the discovery of bugs sooner in the software development process. Extreme Programming (XP), and its Test First Design technique, relies so heavily upon unit tests that the first code implemented is made up entirely of test cases. Furthermore, XP considers a feature to be completely coded only when all of its test cases pass. However, passing all test cases does not necessarily mean the test cases are good. Extreme Coverage (XC) is a new approach that helps to assess and improve the quality of software by enhancing unit testing.

Typically the coverage metric encodes a risk distribution defined on the area, and a measure of the performance of individual robots with respect to points inside the region of interest. Abstract:
We explored approaches that offer full coverage path planning while simultaneously avoiding negative obstacles. These approaches are specific to unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs), which need to constantly interact with a traversable ground surface. We tested multiple potential solutions in simulation, and the results are presented herein. Full coverage path planner (FCPP) approaches were evaluated based on their ability to discretize their paths, use waypoints effectively, and be easily integrated with our current robot platform. For negative obstacles, we explored approaches that will integrate

Abstract:
We present evidence suggesting that a simple measure of central bank communication tone, as perceived and interpreted by the media, correlates with the performance of financial assets and market participants’ expectations. This correlation appears even stronger than that of indices constructed using more complex models, such as a large language models like BERT. We employ a straightforward quantitative index, inspired by the well-known Baker, Bloom and Davis (2016) paper, using a “bag of words” approach and semantic orientation to measure this media-perceived tone orientation in terms of dovis

A method for evaluating Automatic Identification System (AIS) coverage on select inland waterways in 2020 and 2021 : Upper Mississippi River, Illinois River, and Ohio River. Abstract:
The Automatic Identification System (AIS) shares vessel position information for navigational safety purposes. AIS broadcasts are received by other ships and terrestrial stations; however, in some areas there is no, or low, terrestrial station coverage to receive broadcasts. The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) developed an Online Travel Time Atlas (OTTA) to process AIS data and derive a transit count. This study examined OTTA output from 2020 and 2021 to identify areas of high or low AIS coverage along the Upper Mississippi, Illinois, and Ohio Rivers. Segments with a yearly average of two o

Abstract:
The Covid-19 pandemic has re-emphasised the need to ensure equitable access to safe, effective and affordable health services. The very rapid shift to the use of smartphone apps and telephone consultations (telemedicine) has highlighted the potential impact of digital innovations on the capacity of health services to meet this need. It is time to take digital health seriously. In 2021, The Lancet and the Financial Times published a report by a commission of experts entitled Governing health futures 2030: growing up in a digital world. It describes the many ways that digital technologies are af
