Abstract:
The physics of high-Tc superconducting cuprates is obscured by the effect of strong electronic correlations. One way to overcome this problem is to seek an exact solution at least within a small cluster and expand it to the whole crystal. Such an approach is at the heart of cluster perturbation theory (CPT). Here, we developed CPT for the dynamic spin and charge susceptibilities (spin-CPT and charge-CPT), with the correlation effects explicitly taken into account by the exact diagonalization. We applied spin-CPT and charge-CPT to the effective two-band Hubbard model for the cuprates obtained f

The intrinsic spontaneous combustion propensity classification (ISCP) utilizes R70 results to establish a risk rating. Recently, there has been great progress in this direction with the all-loop proposal of Basso, Komatsu and Vieira. Objective: To determine the associations between dynamic-contrast enhanced (DCE) magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) parameters and plasma Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) DNA status and nasopharyngeal carcinoma (NPC) stages. Methods: We prospectively studied the DCE MRI results of 47 patients with newly diagnosed NPC and a known pre-treatment plasma EBV DNA level. Regions of interest (ROIs) were drawn at primary tumors, and DCE MRI parameters, including mean and max values of Ktrans, Kep Ve, and Vp, were recorded. Spearman’s rank correlation was used to identify significant associations between DCE MRI

Abstract:
Review question / Objective: We performed this systematic review and meta-analysis to investigate the prognostic value of pretreatment systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) in esophageal cancer patients and the association between SII and the clinicopathological features of esophageal cancer. Eligibility criteria: (I) involved patients diagnosed with EC histopathologically; (II) hazard ratios (HRs) and corresponding 95% confidence intervals (CIs) for pretreatment SII and survival outcomes were reported, or the correlation between SII and clinicopathological characteristics of EC was stated;

Abstract:
Original objectives: The basic goal of the present project was to increase our understanding of the cellular mechanisms operating during the gravitropic response of cut flowers, for solving their bending problem without affecting flower quality. Thus, several elements operating at the 3 levels o the gravity-induced signal transduction pathway, were proposed to be examined in snapdragon stems according to the following research goals: 1) Signaling: characterize the signal transduction pathway leading to the gravitropic response, regarding the involvement of [Ca2+]cyt as a mediator of IAA moveme

Abstract:
Citrus tristeza virus (CTV) is the most important virus disease of citrus in the world. CTV causes death of trees on sour orange rootstock and/or stem pitting of scions regardless of rootstock which results in trees of low vigor, reduced yield with reduction in size and quality of fruit. The purpose of this project was to produce monoclonal antibodies (MABs) to CTV coat protein (CP), develop single domain antibodies (dAbs) or Fab fragments which neutralize the infection by binding to the virus, and to produce transformed plants which express the dAbs. The objectives of this research have been

Abstract:
In the last decade, tax administrations in developing countries have been introducing technological innovations such as e-filing and e-payment platforms. The main aim of introducing these technologies is to improve tax compliance and boost revenue collection by increasing convenience and flexibility for taxpayers and reducing their compliance costs. E-filing and e-payment could save taxpayers time preparing and returning taxes and reduce errors and opportunities for corruption. However, the adoption of these technologies and their effectiveness in improving tax compliance could be undermined b

This report refers to the activities performed in the frame of PRCI project on the refinement of the AC corrosion criteria by evaluating real-world pipeline AC corrosion cases and applying an improved AC corrosion prediction model. The diagrams of AC corrosion likelihood assessment in the standard ISO18086:2015 was used as a starting point. Correlations between field data (especially those provided through dig reports from AC corrosion anomalies) and the simulation results for different CP polarization levels, AC induced voltage, soil conditions (texture, soil resistivity and moisture) and coa

Abstract:
The thicknesses of 384 rhythmic couplets were measured along a composite sequence of glacial Lake Ojibway glaciolacustrine deposits recovered in two sediment cores from Frederick House Lake, Ontario. The visual comparison of distinctive couplets in the CT-scan radiographs of the Frederick House core samples to photographs of core samples from Reid Lake show a match of ±1 varve number from v1656-v1902, and ±5 varve numbers between v1903-v2010, relative to the regional numbering of the Timiskaming varve series. There are two interpretations for the post-v2010 couplets that fall within the Connau
