La Estoria de España a été rédigée sous l’égide du roi Alphonse X le Sage, roi de Castille et du León (1252-1284). Elle retrace l'histoire de l'Espagne et plus spécifiquement de la Castille, des origines jusqu'au XIIIe siècle. Si beaucoup de chercheurs de renom ont étudié la Estoria, tous ces travaux, par ailleurs indispensables, ne proposent qu’une vision partielle de la chronique.
