Abstract:
Abstract In the Lower East Side of New York City from 1909 through 1911 a fight for change was taking place. Jewish immigrant girls put their safety on the line and brought attention to the abuse taking place in factories across the country. They first spoke out and led the Ladies' Garment Worker strike bringing attention to their cause. But it was ultimately their untimely deaths in one of the most tragic workplace disasters ever in history that finally spurred the country to action in passing new fire safety and child labor laws. Through an inductive, qualitative study of individuals developing new artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, this dissertation builds theory on how creative workers manage the emotions that arise from forecasting the outcomes of implementing their creations. I find that, in a context that illuminates the danger of implementing certain types of creative ideas, creative workers forecast both positive and negative outcomes arising from implementing their work, which elicits ambivalence. My work indicates that how creative workers respond to this ambivalence affects whether they impose constraints on their work as it unfolds. First, some individuals may proceed without constraints because they have resolved their ambivalence by amplifying their positive thoughts and feelings toward their work. Informants who exhibited this pattern created psychological distance (Lewin, 1951; Trope & Liberman, 2003) from the potential negative effects of their work by anchoring on the present moment and/or emphasizing potential positive outcomes. However, the majority of informants exhibited a novel “redistribution” response to ambivalence, whereby they committed to their work (Brickman et al., 1987; Pratt & Rosa, 2003; Pratt & Pradies, 2011) and shifted from a strengthening of negative thoughts and feelings toward a strengthening of positive thoughts and feelings through the use of self-imposed constraints. My work suggests that, although self-imposed constraints do not eliminate negative thoughts and feelings altogether, applying these self-determined boundaries enables individuals to reduce ambivalence and engage (Harter, Schmidt, & Hayes, 2002) more fully in their work. In addition to inducing a process model that encompasses these dynamics, I present the categories and types of self-imposed constraints that I have induced. These self-imposed constraints are not mutually exclusive, and each serves one of three broader purposes: developing a sense that one’s creation will have a positive moral valence, that one will be able to control his or her creation, or that one may trust in the quality of his or her creation. This dissertation extends theory on the role of prospective thought processes in creative work and shows how constraints, though often seen as impediments to creativity, can be used proactively by creative workers to manage the darker emotions and thought processes that have largely been overlooked in prior research. This work also contributes a novel response to ambivalence, redistribution, which entails approaching potentially harmful creative work in a heedful manner

Abstract:
The works of creative writing which culminate in this thesis explore themes of everyday trauma, the gendered body as rendered in writing, and writing as propelled by the aural senses above factors such as logic and plot. Dysphoria of identity through gendered, geographical, and institutional means pervades each work in instances that range from the subtle to the all-consuming. Rhythm and intuition bond at the sentence level in each work, rendering a wildness to the pages. Moved by sensation rather than a drive to make something abundantly clear, the revelations of reading arrive at a level of the associative, the dreamy, and the sound of certain syllables and words as juxtaposed with deliberation posing as spontaneity. Grappling with a simultaneous urge to assimilate and to reject societal and geographical cultural norms, there is a fraught tension and a charged friction to the entire thesis herein.

Abstract:
The aim of this thesis was to, through the thematic analysis, explore which factors influence management of creative workers and how they affect management and organization of the creative firm - CGI studio Wil Film. In conclusion, this thesis has found out that main factors are: rapid growth and transformation of the firm into more permanent form, power of informal organizations and creative work itself. In respons to the negative effects of these factors on creative workers, management established a new postion of HR manager who is carrying out several practices to reduce the negative effects. Training, personal and professional development and retention practices helped to balance Wil Film and positively contributed to firms prosperity. These practices are in contrast with literarture that assumes that HR practices make no sense in the creative industries.

Olano, Pozo Jon Xavier. "Qui viu a les destinacions turístiques i per què? Anàlisi de l'atracció de treballadors creatius i de baixa especialització en les destinacions del sistema urbà català." Doctoral thesis, Universitat Rovira i Virgili, 2019. http://hdl.handle.net/10803/668787.

Full text
Abstract:
The objective of this research is the analysis of the residential attraction of different workers in Catalan tourism municipalities. The two groups of workers that the study focuses on are creative workers and workers employed in low-skilled professions. The scale of the analysis has two dimensions: at the regional level, is analyzed the attraction of these workers in the whole of the Catalan urban system and the tourist municipalities that are part of it; at supra-municipal level, the analysis is done in the coastal towns of Penedès Marítim. At the regional level, is carried out an evolutionary analysis of the residence of creative and low-skilled workers based on the census data of the years 2001 and 2011. The study fixes the attention on the relation between the conditions of territorial attractiveness, measured from the synthetic index of creative conditions (or 4 T's; Tolerance, Talent, Technology and Territory) and the location of these workers. At the supra-municipal level, the analysis is carried out based on the data collected through fieldwork. At this level, the socio-demographic characteristics of the residents are analyzed and, based on their residential preferences, the territory is symbolically interpreted. The research presents different results: provide evidence on the demographic deconcentration process of Catalonia; define the uniqueness of the tourist municipalities in the residential attraction; characterize the residential specialization patterns of urban-tourist systems; tourist municipalities are interpreted symbolically as spaces of opportunity; and, or the theoretical debate, give elements for the theoretical discussion of elements f on different elements related to creative and low-skilled workers, the urban system and the evolution of Catalan tourist destinations

Reynolds, Nicholas. "Sense and Creative Labor in Rainer Maria Rilke's Prose Works." Thesis, University of Oregon, 2014. http://hdl.handle.net/1794/18350.

Full text
Abstract:
Although Rainer Maria Rilke is one of the most widely-read poets in the world and there are mountains of secondary literature on his poetry, his prose works are not given nearly so much attention. The present study is a reading of several of those works, with particular attention given to the role that the senses and creative labor play there. I begin with his "Ur-geräusch" essay (1919), in which Rilke reveals a fascination with the phonograph and a certain jealousy of its abilities. The phonograph provides a model for creative labor, as well as clues about Rilke's thinking on the relationship between this process of creation and the senses. There is an original synesthetic moment when, as a child in his science classroom, Rilke sees the phonograph translating the vibrations received by the horn and carving them into the wax and in turn hears his and the voices of his classmates played back through that horn. This moment in which the senses are blurred together perplexes him and he is left to make sense of this experience for years afterward. With the Geschichten vom lieben Gott (1900), the question turns to the relationship between creative labor and creation as such. The primordiality that was revealed in the sound produced by the phonograph is the subconscious for Rilke, which is our connection to the divine. Although we have been severed from that divine source, we are able to produce it through certain circumstances, viz. through our intersubjective interactions, especially storytelling. We also cultivate it through labor, if we are able to do it: we are stuck in the "Seventh Day," unable to work for the most part, which is the particular plight of Malte Laurids Brigge (1910). He undergoes the necessary transformation to do labor, a certain deconstruction of the self, but is unable to complete the circuit by expressing this change through his works. Auguste Rodin (1903), Rilke's monograph on the sculptor, shows us the ideal artist: able to dig up the tremendous energies of the subconscious and to channel them into great works.

Abstract:
The purpose of this thesis is to explore the impact of the situation imposed by the spread of COVID-19 on people working in creative industries and their creative processes, and analyse the role of media in reconstructing their work and leisure spaces at home. The research topics include handling of this change by the creatives, the role of media in reconstructing creatives' homes and the impact of this situation on their creativity. The methodology for gathering data is centred around interviews with the representatives of the group of people working in the creative industries. The empirical data is analysed with the help of the theoretical framework. Among the theories, the six most important topics are: Connectivity versus connectedness, Front region and back region, Boundary theory, Transformations between regions, Reasons to disconnect from media, and Influences on creativity. On one hand, the conclusion of this thesis is that creatives were handling the change of their work environment mostly well, possibly, perhaps creativity is usually influenced by internal factors, and as such the changed work environment as an external factor doesn't influence it as much as the social isolation situation due to COVID-19 as a whole. On the other hand, for many creatives the changed work environment provided calmer conditions for work and offered more time for leisure, although the majority of the participants were working more in this new situation than before. Due to the fact that all of the interviewees had to use their digital technologies and internet in order to work, the escape to the offline world often served as a place for relaxation. Moreover, the majority of the interviewees' devices was used for multi-functional purposes, for both work and for relax. Ultimately the impact on the creatives and their work was studied from different perspectives, offering a snapshot of creative work in extraordinary times.

McCauley, Kevin Taylor. "The cosmic tantrum." Master's thesis, University of Cape Town, 2001. http://hdl.handle.net/11427/25972.

Full text
Abstract:
This dissertation, entitled The Cosmic Tantrum, is presented in two parts: the body of creative work, in the form of a series of art works created over the course of two years of study, and the theoretical work discussed in this document. The creative work is subdivided into two sections: 1) a series of ten figurative mixed-media paintings, organised chronologically; and 2) the lightworks, a suite of fourteen back-lit canvas tapestries entitled The Eternal Carnival. The Eternal Carnival is the centrepiece of my postgraduate work. A set of drawings is also presented as supporting documentation of the artistic process. The theoretical component is the result of two years of research in Postcolonial Theory, Cultural Studies, and scholarship on the artistic and philosophical systems of what is known as the Black Atlantic. I provide an explanation of the theoretical underpinnings of the creative work in the form of a possible theory of culture, which I have called an "insurgent ancestral aesthetic", elaborated in Part One. This theory of culture provides an analytical framework and leads into Part Two, in which I offer an exposition of the artwork. As a theory, an insurgent ancestral aesthetic begins with the assertion that the presence of the artistic philosophies of the African Diaspora can be understood as essential to both Postmodern Theory and contemporary global culture. A comparative study of the relationship between Black Atlantic aesthetic philosophy and Postmodernism develops this theory of culture and leads into a discussion of possible applications of an insurgent ancestral aesthetic. The themes and concepts of the theoretical research are played out in the creative work in various ways; I employ aspects of my work in theory to illuminate the art in Part Two. Generally, in the artwork, an improvisational approach to the human form reveals an image of the body as an expression of emotional, psychological, and spiritual content. The paintings generate a sense of the body as a story written over time, a record of all that has befallen it. The Eternal Carnival is the culmination of my work in shadow and silhouette and employs a narrative approach in signifying upon various spiritual characters and artistic principles active in the aesthetic and philosophic systems of the Black Atlantic.

Abstract:
This thesis includes two articles and a coat. The articles present two studies investigating students’ reasoning when they were working in pairs, solving mathematics problems using the dynamic software, GeoGebra, The first study shows that the students used GeoGebra as a collaborative environment where they shared their individual reasoning to one another. Furthermore, GeoGebra provided the students with feedback that, to some extent, became a basis for their creative reasoning. The second study looked more closely into the relation between students’ reasoning and their utilization of the feedback generated by GeoGebra. The study showed that students who before entering computer commands used creative mathematical reasoning to hypothesize what the outcome may be, understood the feedback from software better and used it more efficiently. The students who engaged in imitative reasoning were mainly able to use feedback to determine if a solution attempt was correct or not, but did not fully understand the feedback and were less able to use it to make further progress in solving the task. The coat explains theories and methodologies more thoroughly and discusses the results of the two articles. In a concluding discussion the results of the articles are linked and possible implications for teaching are proposed. In school it is common that teachers and textbooks provide students with algorithmic solution templates to tasks, but in the study the didactic situation with dynamic software was found to invite students to create their own solution methods. Furthermore the thesis suggests that it could be beneficial for the students to be encouraged to pay more attention to their own solving strategies, i.e. to explain and evaluate their methods and results rather than merely looking for the correct answers.

The object of the Bachelor Thesis is the modernistic experiments in Gertrude Stein’s and Jon Dos Passos’ creative works. The aim of the present research is to analyze the modernistic experiments in Gertrude Stein’s and John Dos Passos’s creative works. In order to achieve the aim the following objectives have been set: 1) to present and analyze theoretical material concerning modernism; 2) to analyze modernistic experiments in Gertrude Stein’s and John Dos Passos’s creative works; 3) to compare G. Stein’s and J. Dos Passos’s artistic linguistic experiments and creative means. The methodology applied in the present Thesis included: 1) the historical-comparative method was applied in order to review and compare the definitions of literary modernism in different countries; 2) Ihab Hassan’s concept of modernism, which helped describing the phenomenon of modernism and specifying its basic peculiarities, and 3) the theory of comparativistics that allowed determining the correlation of literary modernism and non-linguistic discourses. In the Bachelor Thesis modernistic experiments were treated as the linguistic experiments with language, words and their meaning, grammatical and syntactical forms, way of narration and text composition. For practical analysis G. Stein’s “Tender Buttons” (1914) and J. Dos Passos’s “The 42nd Parallel” (1930) were chosen. Abstract:
This thesis explores the role of youth workers who utilize the arts in Soacha, Colombia. Through a historical and anthropological lens the findings reveal the objectives of the workers and the impact the work has as an intervention with the children. Through the case study of nine youth workers and two administrators of the local NGO, La Fundación Proyecto de Vida, I show how a comprehensive approach strengthens youth's social and personal capacities. This Colombian model of intervention includes workshops that cover areas such as music, visual arts, movement, physical health, and the environment. In addition to the workshops the organization provides psychological resources through family counseling, art and psychodynamic therapy, along with onsite cafeteria service. Ultimately I illustrate how this comprehensive, arts-based approach to support the youth can break the cycle of violence that is otherwise perpetuated by the lack of governmental social programs.

Abstract:
The thesis consists of four articles and this summarizing part. All parts have focused on bringing some insights into how to design a didactical situation including dynamic software (GeoGebra) to support students’ mathematical problem solving and creative reasoning as means for learning. The four included articles are: I. Granberg, C., & Olsson, J. (2015). ICT-supported problem solving and collaborative creative reasoning: Exploring linear functions using dynamic mathematics software. The Journal of Mathematical Behavior, 37, 48-62. II. Olsson, J. (2017). The Contribution of Reasoning to the Utilization of Feedback from Software When Solving Mathematical Problems. International Journal of Science and Mathematics Education, 1-21. III. Olsson, J. Relations between task design and students’ utilization of GeoGebra. Mathematical Thinking and Learning. (Under review) IV. Olsson, J., & Granberg, C. Dynamic software, problem solving with or without guidelines, and learning outcome. Technology, Knowledge and Learning. (Under review) Background A common way of teaching mathematics is to provide students with solution methods, for example strategies and algorithms that, if followed correctly, will solve specific tasks. However, questions have been raised whether these teaching methods will support students to develop general mathematical competencies, such as problem solving skills, ability to reason and acquire mathematical knowledge. To merely follow provided methods students might develop strategies of memorizing procedures usable to solve specific tasks rather than drawing general conclusions. If students instead of being provided with algorithms, are given the responsibility to construct solution methods, they may produce arguments for why the method will solve the task. There is research suggesting that if those arguments are based on mathematics they are more likely to develop problem solving and reasoning-skill, and learn the included mathematics better. In such didactic situations, where students construct solutions, it is important that students have instructions and tasks that frame the activity and clarify goals without revealing solution methods. Furthermore, the environment must be responsive. That is, students need to receive responses on their actions. If students have an idea on how to solve (parts of) the given problem they need to test their method and receive feedback to verify or falsify ideas and/or hypotheses. Such activities could be supported by dynamic software. Dynamic software such as GeoGebra provides features that support students to quickly and easily create mathematical objects that GeoGebra will display as visual representations like algebraic expressions and corresponding graphs. These representations are dynamically linked, if anything is changed in one representation the other representations will be altered accordingly, circumstances that could be used to explore and investigate different aspects and relations of these objects. The first three studies included in the thesis investigate in what way GeoGebra supports creative reasoning and collaboration. These studies focus questions about how students apply feedback from GeoGebra to support their reasoning and how students utilize the potentials of GeoGebra to construct solutions during problem solving. The fourth study examine students’ learning outcome from solving tasks by constructing their methods. Methods A didactical situation was designed to engage students in problem solving and reasoning supported by GeoGebra. That is, the given problems were not accompanied with any guidelines how to solve the task and the students were supposed to construct their own methods supported by GeoGebra. The students were working in pairs and their activities and dialogues were recorded and used as data to analyse their engagement in reasoning and problem solving together with their use of GeoGebra. This design was used in all four studies. A second didactical situation, differing only with respect of providing students with guidelines how to solve the task was designed. These didactical situations were used to compare students’ use of GeoGebra, their engagement in problem solving and reasoning (study III) and students’ learning outcome (study IV) whether the students solved the task with or without guidelines. In the fourth study a quantitative method was applied. The data from study IV consisted of students’ results during training (whether they managed to solve the task or not), their results on the post-test, and their grades. Statistical analysis where applied. Results The results of the first three studies show qualitative aspects of students solving of task with assistance of GeoGebra. GeoGebra was shown to support collaboration, creative mathematical reasoning, and problem solving by providing students with a shared working space and feedback on their actions. Students used GeoGebra to test their ideas by formulating and submitting input according to their questions and hypotheses. GeoGebra’ s output was then used as feedback to answer questions and verify/falsify hypotheses. These interactions with GeoGebra were used to move the constructing of solutions forward. However, the way students engage in problem solving and reasoning, and using GeoGebra to do so, is dependent on whether they were provided with guidelines or not. Study III and IV showed that merely the students who solved unguided tasks utilized the potential of GeoGebra to explore and investigate the given task. Furthermore, the unguided students engaged to a larger extent in problem solving and creative reasoning and they expressed a greater understanding of their solutions. Finally study IV showed that the students who managed to solve the unguided task outperformed, on posttest the students who successfully solved the guided task. Conclusions The aim of this thesis was to bring some insights into how to design a didactical situation, including dynamic software (GeoGebra), to support students' mathematical problem solving and creative reasoning as means for learning. Taking the results of the four studies included in this thesis as a starting point, one conclusion is that a didactical design that engage students to construct solutions by creative reasoning supported by GeoGebra may enhance their learning of mathematics. Furthermore, the mere presence of GeoGebra will not ensure that students will utilize its potential for exploration and analysis of mathematical concepts and relations during problem solving. The design of the given tasks will affect if this will happen or not. The instructions of the task should include clear goals and frames for the activity, but no guidelines for how to construct the solution. It was also found that when students reasoning included predictive argumentation for the outcomes of operations carried out by the software, they could better utilize the potential of GeoGebra than if they just, for example, submitted an algebraic representation of a linear function and then focused on interpreting the graphical output.
Stevens, Bethan Kathleen. "Lost works of art : a critical and creative study of reception and restitution." Thesis, University of Sussex, 2012. http://sro.sussex.ac.uk/id/eprint/40476/.

Abstract:
This thesis examines pieces of visual art that are untraced, stolen or otherwise understood as lost. It conceptualises how this alters artworks. Are they still ‘objects' in ‘visual' culture? Might they become literature? Lost works continue to be circulated and interpreted through practices of remembrance, narrative and often through visual reproductions. These become extraordinarily overdetermined once a work vanishes. I investigate this process in four critical case studies and a novella. The first study looks at Vanessa Bell's painting The Nursery (1930-32), a major work which has been critically neglected because unavailable. I ask what this can tell us about memory and nostalgia, and explore the ghostliness of visual representations. The second study examines Leonardo Da Vinci's Mona Lisa in the period after it was stolen (1911-13). I closely read some startling journalistic responses to this and to earlier, Victorian thefts. Through these writings there emerges a new kind of ekphrasis and a new conception of the museum. My third study builds on these readings of visual and literary restitutions to consider how lost art could inspire a corresponding critical methodology. With reference to writings on aesthetics by Burke and Derrida, I look at William Blake's Virgil woodcuts, reading them through their missing parts, including chopped-off edges. The fourth study explores how lost works can be restituted creatively as well as critically. I analyse missing episodes of Doctor Who, which have inspired reconstructions from fans – an active audience of lost art. Finally, my novella tells the story of a curator of an illicit museum; it uses the epistolary form, which has a history of creating drama through lost letters. My conclusion suggests how, using evidence to feel for what cannot be seen, a focus on lost art can spark unique ways of thinking about vision, writing and criticism.

Abstract:
This thesis aims to explore Bernard Shaw’s religious and philosophical development and indicate how far his personal thoughts and religious ideas relate to his philosophical background and contemporaries, including his view as a philosophical artist. This study focuses on the particular plays, which use a variety of theatrical genres to explore Shaw’s development towards the full-blown myth of creative evolution during his life. The first part of the thesis, demonstrates that Shaw’s own religious and philosophical development and also considers that of his contemporaries and a review of the literary context in which Shaw’s plays were written. In the second part of the thesis, the eight plays in which Shaw’s philosophical religious ideas appear are critically examined especially by comparing the relationship of each character to the main action of the play and to the main theme or idea of the play. Through the chapters, this thesis shows how Shaw dramatizes the purpose of the life force, in order to make clear what humanity can do to aid its progress. This is because the life force is the central fact of Shaw ’s creative evolution. The life force provides the impetus for evolutionary progress as the basic structural element of Shaw ’s plays. This study explores the eight major plays which have a particular relation to his development of a religious dimension: The Man of Destiny, The Devil's Disciple , Pygmalion, Caesar and Cleopatra, Major Barbara, Heartbreak House, Man and Superman and Back to Methuselah. In focusing on these eight plays, the characters of the plays chosen reveal the progression of Shaw’s combination of social ideas with the religious dynamic that would culminate in his creed of creative evolution. These plays had explicitly their ideological origins in religious ideas. In these plays, therefore, religion is itself part of the texture of the social/historical material that Shaw chose to dramatize. Each play chosen will be analyzed from the perspectives established in the introductory chapters in relation to dramatic themes and types of genres by grouping the plays.

The cultural and creative industry is a commerce form which change knowledge myself and set up intellectual property rights. The Policy has built in 2002, and hope that create economy profit by cultural. However, the policy can’t reach expected target because it’s prefer to hardware development to software development, and economy recession make the target of policy dilemma. In order to break dilemma, the study care about the producer in the process of product, to understand what the creative worker like, what factor the creative worker be attracted, to help the product of creation, and understand the form of product and market for the creative worker, building the creative worker network. In study, the definition of the creative worker is represented by the painter in the great Taipei, and discuss that the painter often spend lots of time himself producing , how those work be contacted the collector and the common people, what actor participate in the relation. The study find that the painter is effected by accessibility and amenity. The galley, art museum and substitute the space interaction in network help the work of the painter to contact the collector and the common people. Because of international trend, the galley tend to multi-management, affecting the painter creative style. The galley use the capital and connection themselves, marketing the painter, promoting the painter’s fame and personal wealth. Except the galley, art museum and substitute the space respectively represent leader, popularization and find out new trend. In network the actor have themselves job, inter-effect, inter-support, consolidating, connecting the relation of the painter and the common people and the collector.

Unsurprisingly, entering the times of creativity has made creativity a sector attracting more and more attention. In the industrial fields subject to information technology and creation of creativity, some qualitative changes have happened to the workers’ characteristics in terms of workspace design. The unpredictability of creativity and characteristics of creative workers of the next generation are new challenges to today’s office design. This study takes the entire of components forming a working environment as a creativityscape, and investigates into the nature of a creative workspace by figuring out the interaction patterns between individual creative workers and the group within different contexts. This study first reviews those disciplines related to creativity, including psychology, cognitive neuroscience, environmental psychology and management of creativity, so as to identify the factors interactively stimulating the workers’ creativity in a workspace, as a part of our work to collect information for forming the basis of our argument. It is learned from the identified factors that the interaction between individual workers and the work group include the interaction of cognizance between individuals, the interaction between individuals and other workers in terms of knowledge exchange, and the interaction between individuals and interface as well as tools. From the three, modes for interaction identified as “situation switch”, “knowledge networking” and “interface trigger” are derived for building up an ideal prototype where creativity can be inspired. The relation between workers and the workspace therefore can be reviewed using this prototype. In addition, the interaction modes need a way to describe the whole picture of creativityscape. “Event mapping” is used for this purpose as a methodology developed from related theories to provide a framework for reading creativityscape, and Google Taipei, Asus Design Center and MIT Media Lab are chosen subjects being investigated with the methodology. This study discovers that an appropriate workspace must provide the properties of “diversified options”, “situations for escaping from work ”, “stimulating flows of human and information”, “discussion anywhere”, “spatialized interface for information display” and “open focusd space”. These findings will help designers to design for stimulating creativity.

The 21st century is a new economic era, in which characterized by interdependent work activities in both the national and global area. The more frequent occasions for various collaborations and international exchanges bring all types of challenges and opportunities. This study aimed to understand the career development of a professional curator and to identify factors contributing to his career success. The work content of a curator is diverse and extends across organizational boundaryless career. The intent of the current study was to develop an understanding of the reasons behind the for career success of the most talented people in creative fields based on a definition that is both [a] grounded literature review [b] in the boundaryless career theory. To summarize the salient features of the data, three findings are of interest. First, openness is necessary, but internal motivation with great discipline and altruistic tendency help a professional worker to excel in the pursuit. The altruistic and internal motivation supports Obrist to face dynamic work environment. In addition, working at various locations and changing rules are required for high cross-cultural adaptability. As a professional curator to create a conversation between audience and artwork is the most important thing than display objects in the exhibition. Since curating is an interdisciplinary job, the internship or mentor system may support and incubate students to understand the real world. Last but not least, began to establish a social connection that is conductive to the career development after determining the goals. Bring new information seems to be a good way to build the first step. It is worth of further investigation on how we can maximize personal value system and perform interdisciplinary consolidation to cope with organizational reform and increasingly complicated management challenges in the cultural and creative industry.

Creative life industries are new-born industries in Taiwan, and creativity is a key factor which can make them continuous success. Based on this, creative workers have more freeness and flexibility and always create for works. However, they haven’t ever thought that they worked all the time and believed that they live every moment. Creative workers enjoy their life, including watching what they see, talking to people, tasting what they eat, and so on. They view creativity as their belief, which can support them to look for ideas form their livings. Specific speaking, they savor their life. While they savor an experience and attend mindfully to their ongoing sensory and cognitive experiences, they get continuing power to write fictions, paint pictures, sculpture, or to do any creative thing. The research interviews with 7 creative workers of creative life industries in Taiwan. All interviewers are not only creative workers, but also are managers. To collect about their creative behaviors, asking them what they create, what they live, and what they feel. The key point is that we focus on what they feel and do in the creating process. The results indicate that they always savoring while they create and live. We suggest that savoring is an important belief or behavior for creating. Finally, we explicitly suggest that “savoring” is a necessary or a sufficient condition for becoming and remaining a well-recognized creative individual.

abstract: This collection explores the experience of members of the working class, living at the edge of poverty. Under constant financial strain, they exist in a state of uncertainty which breeds anger, anxiety, fear, and resentment. For the children born into these families, options are limited not only by their financial circumstances, but also pre-existing cultural expectations. Characters have a desire to understand their circumstances, their relationships with others, and on a larger scale, the world as they experience it. To avoid falling victim to an emotional fatalism that contributes to externalized violence against the self and others, characters must recognize that they have control in their lives, even if it is limited.
