This research is concerned with the question of performance in scientific research, and focusses on the potential of Adaption-Innovation theory (Kirton, 1976) for providing insights into individual innovativeness. This taxonomy breaks new ground in its use of the sub-scales of KAI. It shows that the use of the total KAI scale, as in previous research in the literature, is a conflation which conceals important insights. The research also breaks

Suggestions are made for programs to increase effectiveness in the use of creative skills. Creativity has been viewed in the past as something that happens rather than deliberate activity directed to specific goals. Numerous studies have failed to find a significant relationship between measurements of creative skills and intelligence as delimited by IQ tests and other measures of performance. Creativity can be dist
