Abstract:
Why is a poem written? Why does one get spiritual pleasure when one reads a good poem? Because its creator-poet will be able to understand the magic of the word. He achieves this because of his sensitivity to the world around him, his observation, his observation, the sharpness of his memory, and his infinity. He creates all these qualities in himself through the ability to read, study, and master.

The article describes some issues of formation of personal qualities and spheres of activities of N.Tlendiev, that have been determined through ethnicity hearing. The range of issues include the analysis of performing and composing activities, stage behavior, as well as innovative performance style, introduced by the famous kuishi into Kazakh music. On the one hand, the formation of N. Tlendiev as a person was determined by the strength of ethnic ear, and, on the other, by the depth of professional knowledge. It was determined that in all his diverse creative activities, that is, performing, composing, conducting or organizing activity, the gift of ethnic ear and high professional competence played an important role. The rich images reflected in his musical compositions, a wide range of thematic lines, the variety of musical methods and instrumental techniques that have not been studied, will result in new research works in the future. In the future the vital activities of N. Tlendiev should be investigated from a scientific point of view, confirmed by documents and facts, and the particular monographic work should be devoted to them.

Abstract:
Abstract This essay deconstructs the godhead that Tolkien constructs in his mythopoeia. Tolkien’s polychronicon, The Silmarillion, splits the godhead between a creator God and a pantheon of gods and goddesses. Tolkien claims that Ilúvatar is a Yahweh-like God and the primary deity; on the other hand, the Valar, the fourteen gods and goddesses created by this primary God, who assist in creation, shape the world, have power over elements, and reign as ‘mistaken gods’ among the Elves, Dwarves, and Men, are not deities. This split of godhead is ignored, and the mythopoeic deity acclaimed as the biblical God and his angels is upheld as a Christian allegory. The essay negates the Christian parallels associated with Ilúvatar and Valar and establishes that Tolkien packages polytheism as monotheism. Monotheism does not permit secondary god/gods. Polytheism on the other hand often features an abstract creator God who creates a polytheistic pantheon. Tolkien’s model, which features a Creator deity and a pantheon of created deities, falls under the second category. The essay infers that Tolkien’s two-tier godhead firstly invalidates the norm of monotheism, and secondly conforms to creator deity and created deity structure of polytheism.

Abstract:
If a virtual-world-game character is cast upon real-world property without the consent of the landowner, inducing or encouraging players to trespass, is the virtual-world creator liable for damages? The United States Supreme Court has recognized that digital technology presents novel issues, the resolution of which must anticipate its further rapid development. It is beyond dispute that protective legislation will be unable to keep up with rapidly evolving technology. The burden of anticipating and addressing issues presented by emerging technologies will ultimately fall upon the businesses responsible for generating them. This duty was most notably adopted by the creators of Pokémon Go in settlement of nuisance and trespass claims brought by a nationwide class seeking injunctive relief from the placement of virtual Pokéstops and Pokémon Gyms (“Gyms”) on real property. This article is the first to address this landmark settlement and proposes that future developers and creators seeking to avoid similar liability exposure implement self-regulatory practices, such as Value Sensitive Design, to create human values-based frameworks within which they can create and advance technologies. The societal need and social impact of such self-regulation is clearly illustrated by emerging litigation seeking to hold virtual-world actors responsible for real-world consequences utilizing common law tort theories. In the absence of legislation, as case law develops, self-regulatory frameworks like Value Sensitive Design are essential to create constructs within which creators can develop technologies that consider human values, address civic concerns, and avoid lawsuits, while still achieving commercial and technological objectives.

Abstract:
Knowing God, including as Creator (Deus Creator), is one of the priorities of the life and teaching of St. Augustine. For the old Christian thinker, the certainty of the truth about God the Creator, which the Church confesses in her Creed, is based on the authority of the Bible, especially the description of creation contained in it. A characteristic feature of his approach to this truth is its Trinitarian dimension, that is, the attribution of the work of creation to all three divine Persons. Deus Creator is for St. Augustine Deus Trinitas. God created the world according to the unchanging reasons of his eternal presence in his Word and His goodness and love, expressed in the image of God’s Spirit hovering over the waters, are identified with the Holy Spirit. Among the attributes of the Creator, St. Augustine strongly emphasizes his omnipotence.

The issue between my view and Hasker's concerns a certain principle that he takes to be true, but I hold to be false. The principle in question asserts that failing to do better than one did is a defect only if doing the best one can is possible for one to do. I claim that this principle is false because if an all-knowing, all-powerful being were confronted with an unending series of increasingly better creatable worlds and deliberately chose to create the least good world, that being would thereby show itself to be something less than a supremely perfect world-creator. In fact, I argue that if a supremely perfect world-creator were to exist and create a world, it would have to be a world than which there is no better creatable world.

Abstract:
Based on Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” (ESV), the apostle Paul in Romans 1:25 gives an amazingly com- plete definition of the only two ways of existing in the world: “they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.” I call these two ways of existing Oneism and Twoism. In Oneism, if you worship creation, you will believe that the world is self-created, self-explanatory, and all made of the same stuff (matter, spirit, or a mixture). Paganism is the worship of nature. If everything shares the same divine substance, then all distinctions are eliminated and everything is god. In Twoism, if you worship God, you will believe that he is the Creator—an external, intelligent, personal God. There are two kinds of existence—the Creator who is uncreated, and everything else, which is created. He has placed distinctions in his creation, making what I call Twoism a worldview based on the binaries of otherness and difference. From living under the cultural canopy of biblical truth, our world has changed in the last one or two generations. This becomes especially evident in the modern views of sexuality—in particular, transsexuality, where human beings now self-define and reject the creational binary of male/female sexuality.

Abstract:
I argue that Hegel and Wittgenstein, each in their own specific way, used the idea of God at the beginning of creation as a complex analogy for other kinds of beginning, most notably the beginning of philosophical thought. Hegel’s Logic describes God’s mind before the creation of the world, i.e. God’s pure thinking. For a philosopher, beginning afresh means resolving to consider this kind of abstraction from the existence of the world. Wittgenstein, by contrast, says that the idea of a creator of the world does not explain anything. It marks the terminus ad quem of asking for explanations; we must not ask further who created the creator of the world. Wittgenstein generalizes this for any kind of reasoning: “Explanations come to an end somewhere.” (PhilosophicalInvestigations: §1) Any sort of explanation must eventually arrive at its terminus ad quem, which means only that any kind of reasoning must have its logical beginning.

The most important moment of whole project is the change of the status. Creation of unique sarcophagus for an object of mass-production - one of many globally manufactured objects become a part of a unique, authentic object and authorship. Transformation of one of the mass-product to the skeleton of author's object. Mass-product gives dimensions to the original object - it is directing process of creation. By creating its own unique case the object of mass-production is finally closer to human scale: one piece of furniture vs. one carpenter.

Abstract:
Includes bibliographical references.
This thesis presents the design and creation of a 3D virtual world of Petra, Jordan, based on the digital spatial documentation of this UNESCO World Heritage Site by the Zamani project. Creating digital records of the spatial domain of heritage sites is a well-established practice that employs the technologies of laser scanning, GPS and traditional surveys, aerial and close range photogrammetry, and 360-degree panorama photography to capture spatial data of a site. Processing this data to produce textured 3D models, sections elevations, GISs, and panorama tours to has led to the establishment of the field of virtual heritage. Applications to view this spatial data are considered too specialised to be used by the general public with only trained heritage practitioners being able to use the data. Additionally, data viewing platforms have not been designed to allow for the viewing of combinations of 3D data in an intuitive and engaging manner as currently each spatial data type must be viewed by independent software. Therefore a fully integrated software platform is needed which would allow any interested person, without prior training, easy access to a combination of spatial data, from anywhere in the world. This study seeks to provide a solution to the above requirement by using a game engine to assimilate spatial data of heritage sites in a 3D virtual environment where a virtual visitor is able to interactively engage with combinations of spatial data. The study first begins with an analysis of what virtual heritage applications, in the form of virtual environments, have been created, and the elements that were used in their creation. These elements are then applied to the design and creation of the virtual world of Petra.

Full text
Abstract:
This thesis aims to determine how Bonaventure’s theology of the created world can be an illuminating eco-theological resource to promote ecological conversion by helping Christians reflect on the meaning and worth of the natural world. In exploring this project, there are two things to be noted: inherent anthropocentric limitations of his theology and today’s ecological context represented by both contemporary scientific views of the evolutionary natural world and recognition of the current ecological crisis. Accordingly, this thesis specifically seeks to retrieve and re-interpret the elements of Bonaventure’s theology that can influence human understanding and action regarding the natural world, employing Francis Schüssler Fiorenza’s theory of a reconstructive hermeneutics. In response to inherent limitations of his thought, Chapter 2 explores whether Bonaventure’s theology of the created world is capable of upholding the value of creatures and awakening a human concern for them while having weak anthropocentric senses. This exploration is based on his Trinitarian theology because it is the underlying principle of his whole theological thought. Bonaventure’s Trinitarian doctrine of creation affirms that the whole of creation is the sacramental expression of the Trinity, is directly related to the Trinity by reason of being patterned on the Word and imprinted with Trinitarian footprints, and is a gift and a receiver of God’s love. These views underpin the value of all creatures. Chapter 3 examines whether such a positive understanding of creation can still be valid in Bonaventure despite his limited view of the fate of non-human creatures. Bonaventure’s Christocentric theology indicates that the whole of creation’s consummation through Christ incarnate involves materiality which non-human creatures hold in common with Christ and humanity. In addition, Bonaventure’s concept of redemptive-completion suggests that humanity should turn to right relationship with other-than-human creatures because the broken relationship with them, caused by human sin, is an impediment to God-intended completion for all creation. These implications can be said to support the significance of other creatures’ existence and a human concern for them. Chapter 4 addresses how Bonaventure’s theology of the created world can be re-interpreted in light of evolutionary scientific views of the natural world. Bonaventure’s theological vision of creation provides theological meaning for the diverse and relational reality of the natural world by seeing that such realities reveal the divine fecundity and spring from the divine relationality. Regarding inherent suffering in the evolutionary natural world, Bonaventure does not fully espouse the view of God’s redemptive co-suffering with creatures, as do contemporary theologians of deep incarnation. However, his theology contains meaningful elements which can be developed for such a view: the concepts of exemplarism, microcosm, medium mathematicum, and Christ as unifying centre. Chapter 5 discusses what theological insights into the natural world the encyclical Laudato Si’ presents, faced with contemporary ecological degradation, and how Bonaventure’s theology of the created world can contribute to the encyclical’s theologies. Laudato Si’ emphasises the intrinsic value of all creatures, their significance as God’s revelation and the call for a sublime communion with them. Elements of Bonaventure’s Trinitarian doctrine of creation and his view of human sin and the restoration of human relationships with creatures have relevance to the encyclical’s insights. In addition, Bonaventure’s theology can supplement the lack of a systematic theology of the incarnation and of theological consideration of evolutionary suffering in Laudato Si’, by means of the concept of Christ as the divine Word and the incarnate One. Chapter 6 summarises how the key arguments of Bonaventure’s theology can bring transformation to human thinking and action with regard to creatures. Humans are called to appreciate the aesthetic and spiritual values of creatures, to be sensitive towards suffering creatures and to be humble before the natural world with a sense of belonging to one creation community. With these attitudes, humans must take action to preserve living species and to uphold this creation community through a sustainable relationship with all species. Through these conclusions, this thesis argues that Bonaventure’s theology of the created world can still be used to guide praxis that leads to ecological conversion and commitment in this time of ecological crisis.

Abstract:
Crowdfunding is an emerging Internet application for creators designing campaigns (projects) to collect funds from public investors. Usually, the limited budget of the creator is manually divided into several perks (reward options), that should fit various market demand and further bring different monetary contributions for the campaign. Therefore, it is very challenging for each creator to design an effective campaign. To this end, in this paper, we aim to enhance the funding performance of the newly proposed campaigns, with a focus on optimizing the product supply of perks. Specifically, given the expected budget and the perks of a campaign, we propose a novel solution to automatically recommend the optimal product supply to every perk for balancing the expected return of this campaign against the risk. Along this line, we define it as a constrained portfolio selection problem, where the risk of each campaign is measured by a multi-task learning method. Finally, experimental results on the real-world crowdfunding data clearly prove that the optimized product supply can help improve the campaign performance significantly, and meanwhile, our multi-task learning method could more precisely estimate the risk of each campaign.

Abstract:
This paper analyses the multi-faceted response of a Sunni-Hanafi scholar, Fethullah Gülen, to the phenomenon of violence against civilians under a religious rhetoric. Gülen’s response involves four components: (a) humanitarian, (b) religious, (c) political or realist, and (d) practical/educational. (a) Gülen categorically condemns acts of violence against innocent non-combatants including women and children as inhuman. (b) Gülen sets out the principles of Islamic jurisprudence that invalidate any declaration of war by individuals or groups: hence, such self-declared wars under the banner of Islam cannot be regarded as legitimate. He refutes ‘the end justifies the means’ argument, calling it a Marxist-Communist rhetoric, with no Islamic justification whatever. (c) While discussing misunderstanding, misrepresentation and abuse of religious texts, Gülen hints at the presence of individuals, interest groups, and other entities that benefit from friction and violent conflict. He suggests that the possibility should be considered that some individuals have been manipulated, perhaps even ‘hypnotised’ through special drugs, to carry out actions they would otherwise not carry out. (d) Gülen offers practical approaches to rooting out the problem of hate-mongering and violent conflict. The underlying dynamic of this approach is to provide, through education, mutual understanding, respect, opportunity and hope. Only educational institutions that foster inter- faith and intercultural dialogue, mutual understanding and respect, and offer hope of upward mobility, can provide lasting solutions. Concepts such as ‘love of creation due to the Creator’ can be located in every culture and spiritual tradition. Gülen’s own emphasis on Islamic spirituality provides an example that is particularly significant for Muslims: his argument against terrorism and for peaceful interfaith relations is based upon the authoritative view of the Sunni tradition, to which 90% of the world’s Muslims adhere.

Abstract:
In recent years, it is strategically important for developing economies that women contribute into working areas and entrepreneurship activities because the way to create new job areas and activate unused potential in business is attached to encouragement of the women entrepreneurship. Giving priority to the policies and strategies that help women exist in business contributes to the economic and social development significantly. However, women encounter important obstacles within the entrepreneurship activities.Entrepreneurship has been speeding up in today’s world and this project aims at comparing the women entrepreneurship between Turkey and the world, the obstacles women come across in entrepreneurship and the opportunities created by women in theoretical framework.

Smoke, Paul, David Gómez-Álvarez, Andrés Muñoz Miranda, and Axel Radics. The Role of Subnational Governments in the Covid-19 Pandemic Response: Are There Opportunities for Intergovernmental Fiscal Reform in the Post-Pandemic World? Inter-American Development Bank, July 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.18235/0004391.

Full text
Abstract:
In early 2020, once the severity was recognized on a global scale, the COVID-19 pandemic quickly became the most immediately pressing crisis. In addition to the general demands the pandemic created for strong and competent national and international response, it also raised numerous issues and generated tensions around the sharing of responsibilities and resources among levels of governments in many countries around the world. A number of comparable health and economic issues have emerged fairly universally, but they have manifested in different ways and the responses and results have been diverse across and within countries. This monograph summarizes available information about how the pandemic has affected fiscal decentralization around the world, focusing on five Latin American countries: Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru. It briefly characterizes the intergovernmental fiscal systems in these countries, provides an overview of the known impacts of the pandemic and summarizes available information on government responses to the pandemic, both national and those undertaken by subnational governments with national support or more independently. The conclusions draw lessons from regional and global experiences about if and how post-pandemic policies might be developed to improve the intergovernmental fiscal system in particular countries.

Wang, Shenlong, and David Forsyth. Safely Test Autonomous Vehicles with Augmented Reality. Illinois Center for Transportation, August 2022. http://dx.doi.org/10.36501/0197-9191/22-015.

Abstract:
This work exploits augmented reality to safely train and validate autonomous vehicles’ performance in the real world under safety-critical scenarios. Toward this goal, we first develop algorithms that create virtual traffic participants with risky behaviors and seamlessly insert the virtual events into real images perceived from the physical world. The resulting composed images are photorealistic and physically grounded. The manipulated images are fed into the autonomous vehicle during testing, allowing the self-driving vehicle to react to such virtual events within either a photorealistic simulator or a real-world test track and real hardware systems. Our presented technique allows us to develop safe, hardware-in-the-loop, and cost-effective tests for self-driving cars to respond to immersive safety-critical traffic scenarios.

Abstract:
In this paper, the possibilities of using augmented reality technology are analyzed and the software model of the solar system model is created. The analysis of the available software products modeling the solar system is carried out. The developed software application demonstrates the behavior of solar system objects in detail with augmented reality technology. In addition to the interactive 3D model, you can explore each planet visually as well as informatively – by reading the description of each object, its main characteristics, and interesting facts. The model has two main views: Augmented Reality and 3D. Real-world object parameters were used to create the 3D models, using the basic ones – the correct proportions in the size and velocity of the objects and the shapes and distances between the orbits of the celestial bodies.

Megersa, Kelbesa. Creating Green Jobs in Developing Countries. Institute of Development Studies, March 2021. http://dx.doi.org/10.19088/k4d.2021.054.

Full text
Abstract:
This rapid literature review examines evidence on interventions have been used to create green jobs in developing countries. The ‘green jobs’ concept does not have a singular and universally accepted definition. Many development organisations have come up with their own definitions, however all definitions share both an “environmental” and “decent jobs” component. Green job growth has been mostly documented in developed countries and some rapidly growing middle-income countries. However, it is becoming clearer that a green economy can create more and better jobs in all parts of the world (including the poorer developing countries) – and that these jobs can be ‘decent’. There are, however, some difficulties. Some new (green) jobs created in the food, agriculture, and recycling sectors (particularly in developing countries) can hardly be considered ‘decent’ – i.e., due to their poor labour standards. In some cases, climate change is also having a negative impact on jobs. Donors have a crucial role to play in supporting and financing green jobs initiatives and ‘green employment’ across developing countries – given the inadequate investment in the sector, growing unemployment issues and their unique vulnerability to climate change. Nevertheless, the ‘green jobs’ sector – thus far – has only been able to receive limited financial assistance from donors. Lack of focus and funding by donors and development agencies not only stymies the creation of green jobs in developing countries, but it can also result in the loss of many existing jobs and livelihoods, particularly in agriculture, because of climate change. Furthermore, the funding for most green jobs programmes by donors usually tends to be project-based, which fails to be part of a larger strategy to promote sustainable development – thus, limiting its impact. However, it is worth noting that there is relatively limited donor programming on ‘green jobs’ – i.e., most donor funded jobs creation programmes are not explicitly ‘green’. Another poignant observation is the general lack of proper programme evaluation, especially independent evaluation, on donor interventions around ‘green jobs’ (which are usually small projects). As such, there is a lack of good evidence base.
