Acheta domesticus, the common house cricket, is the cosmopolitan species. Based on 100 crickets, a mean time spent in each stage (egg, nymph and adult) for the cricket was calculated. Female crickets produced an average of 2,195±225 eggs per life, but there was variation due to food availability and temperature. Females laid 125±15 eggs/day during the reproductive life period which averaged 3 weeks ±3 days. In the confinement of 25°C, the duration of the egg phase was on average 13±2 days. The cricket nymphs required 56±5 days to mature with 8 molts for becoming adults. Adult stage duration av

Abstract Cricket is the second most popular game around the globe, particularly it breeds a high level of enthusiasm in Asia, Australia and UK. However, it is generally known and globally mentioned that Pakistan is an “unpredictable” cricket team, which leads to extreme reactions from the citizens in case of a loss, e.g., verbal anger, breaking of television sets and burning of players’ effigies. Objectives: In this study, we leverage machine learning techniques to demonstrate that the use of the “unpredictable” tag for Pakistan’s crick

The ability of a cricket player to manage their mental health helps them to perform optimally. This study investigated how mental health is related to performance of male cricket players during the resumption of sporting events after coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) restrictions. Mental health profiles were established using the Depression, Anxiety, Stress Scale-21 (DASS-21), Athlete Burnout Questionnaire (ABQ), and Satisfaction with Life Scale (SWLS) instruments among male semiprofessional cricket players ( n = 63). Abstract Nucleotide sequence analysis of a region of cricket (Gryllus firmus) mtDNA showing discrete length variation revealed tandemly repeated sequences 220 base pairs (bp) in length. The repeats consist of 206 bp sequences bounded by the dyad symmetric sequence 5'GGGGGCATGCCCCC3'. The sequence data showed that mtDNA size variation in this species is due to variation in the number of copies of tandem repeats. Southern blot analysis was used to document the frequency of crickets heteroplasmic for two or more different-sized mtDNAs. In New England populations of G. firmus and a close relative
