The article is devoted to the epistemological foundations of the theory of action of the Stoics. According to the Stoics, the ideal moral subject acts correctly because she possesses knowledge. This knowledge can be understood in two ways: either it is awareness in the divine plan, or it is a correct axiological assessment. In linguistic terms, knowledge is expressed by subject-predicate judgments, to which the moral agent give an agreement, which leads to the appearance of an impulse, which prompts action. On the other hand, though transcendental idealism depends on Kant's epistemological criterion of an existing object, or, simply, his criterion of existence, the criterion for its part is actually independent of the idealism. This article describes a quantitative approach for assessing the quality of training engineers. Authors propose the quality of knowledge to be a result of comparisons of current progress results with the normative ones. If the current results are close to the normative, the teaching can be considered to be qualitative. Using a quantitative device of the theory of intra and inter-subject relations (T.N. Gnitetskaya, 2005) the evaluation of connectedness of physics and mathematics courses for engineering specialties was held. The forgettingness parameter was calculated.

The paper investigates the problem of knowledge stability. The purpose of the article is to analyze the theoretical prerequisites for knowledge stability in the economy and society. The study considers the hypothesis about the existence and applicability of stable knowledge in the economy. There are several types of stability: stability in mechanical media, in complex nonlinear systems, asymptotic stability, stability based on the energy criterion, and stability in the institutional environment. “Mechanical approaches” to the stability of economic structures as well as data-driven approaches i

Whereas for Plato knowledge was of intelligible Forms, and the criterion of the truth of a hypothesis about the definition of a Form was that it should survive a Socratic testing by question and answer, for Epicurus the criterion of truth was sensation, and employment of this criterion favoure

For these reasons, our goal in this study is to report the development, piloting, and field testing, using a sample of 335 students from grades 4 and 5, of four alternate versions of a writing knowledge assessment—the S

More precisely the discussion focuses on the key notion of ennoia (conception).Middle Platonists argue against the hypothesis that conceptions have an empirical origin and claim that an ennoia is what remains of the pre-natal vision of the ideas. According to them, it is only through metaphysics that a theory of knowledge can adequately be grounded. The second part of the paper delves into the limits of such a claim.
