Full textThe thesis examines the role of German in Croatia between 1815 and 1848. The research is based on documents, mainly of the administration, kept in Austrian and Croatian archives, as well as on literary works, partly unpublished (transcribed in the second volume), of authors who wrote in German in Croatia. The extent of the presence of German in the life of the population, in oral and written form, is analysed as a result of the necessities of the administration (Austrian army, state, provinces). The religious hierarchies ensure a privileged position for German. Metternich's government does not impose the German language: its own social and cultural prestige is sufficient to let it assume a predominant role. A literature written in German develops in Croatia, with a proper thematic background taken from Croatian past and present. An unpublished play, Joseph Schweigert's “Black cross of Medvedgrad”, is analysed. Its present features of a show of the Croatian history adapted to the needs of Ljudevit Gaj's Illyrian movement. But it proposes a final outcome which takes into account which takes into account the different peoples of the Empire. The use of those themes, which used to be treated until then in literature in German, by authors who tend to express themselves in Croatian, provokes a slow decline of a specific literature in German, especially in Zagreb. During the first half of the 19th century, German loses its role as a communication and culture language from 1848 on, German perceived as a foreign language, and not as a neutral one any more

Full textWe have divided our thesis into six parts dedicated to the following : Croatian Literature form its beginnings till 15th century; Petrarcha's "spiritual portrait"; the humanist milieu which helped create Croatian petrarchan poetic tradition; love lyric in the croatian language between the end of the 15th and the beginning of the 16th century; the evolution of the tradition of the petrarchan poetry until the end of the 16th century; song-books of croatian petrarchists in the italian language. We have placed the representatives of the croatian petrarchism into two groups. The first group consists of S. Mencetic (1457-1527), G. Drzic (1461-1501) and the anonymous poets from Ragnigna's codex who imitated directly Petrarcha and italian petrarchists. The second group make the petrarchists influenced by Bembo : H. Lucic (1485-1553), D. Ranjina (1536-1607) and D. Zlataric (1558-1613). Finally, we have studied the song-books written in the Italian language by J. Bizanti, L. Pasquali, S. Bobaljevic and M. Monaldi during the 16th century

Full textThis thesis examines the influence of cross-cultural communication on the volume of FDI,based on case studies concerning the relationship between France and the CEEC. After general introduction,a conceptual tool is created. A historical overview of FDI flows is followed by a summary of research concerning factors that influence FDI,followed by an analysis of FDI in the CEEC. Then we analyse specifically the research that analyzes cultural factors and we finish with an overwiev of the French FDI. In second part, the results of a questionnaire are presented. We continue with an analysis of international trade and movements in the countries included in our research, focussing on economic relations with France. In last chapter we analyse macroeconomic facts concerning international trade and FDI between the whole region of seven countries and France. Finally, the general conclusion is devoted to the research conclusions, including proposals for a possible new approach to the analyzed topic
