Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico<br>Projections of a possible climate change indicate that the current CO2 concentration is expected to double and air temperature increase by up to 6°C by the end of this century, leading to changes in crops yield. The impact of climate change on irrigated rice in conditions of Southern Brazil should be positive, with increases in potential grain yield. However, there are few studies to assess the impact of climate change in Rio Grande do Sul, a State with an important role in rice production in the country. Thus, the objective of t

In order to have scientific credibility, a simulation model has to be tested and exposed to different cropping conditions. Although this model is in use, constant studies and improvements have to be pursued so that new versions are released and able to accurately describe the complex interactions of factors that influence the growth, development and grain yield of rice. Abstract:
Global crop production is affected by seasonal and climatic variations in temperature, rainfall patterns or intensity and the occurrence of abiotic and biotic stresses. Climate change can alter pest and pathogen populations as well as pathogen complexes that pose an enormous risk to crop yields and future food security. Crop simulation models have been validated as an important tool for the development of more resilient agricultural systems and improved decision making for growers. The Agricultural Production Systems Simulator (APSIM) is a software tool that enables sub-models to be incorporat
