As form follows function, pedal anatomy is embedded in a history of evolution. This literature review seeks to further the understanding of physiologic and pathologic flatfoot through cross-disciplinary research of expired and extant members of the Homininae subfamily. Archaeological, anthropological, paleontological, and ontogenetic evidence presents multiple biomechanical similarities and anatomical parallels between flatfooted hominins and humans. Recognizing an evolutionary pattern in flatfoot pathologic disorders enhances anticipation and effective treatment. (J Am Podiatr Med Assoc 102(4

The incentive for this publication was to expand the realm of enquiry around the topic of Building with Nature (BwN), for two main reasons. First to gain an interdisciplinary, and therefore deeper, understanding of BwN as an object of study. Secondly, but no less important, is an understanding of how different forms of knowledge contribute to our learning regarding BwN. When we understand the contribution of several academic disciplines and knowledge from practice, we may eventually get to the point where we can identify how they can collaborate successfully to contribute to BwN as an interdis

In this paper, we tackle the challenge of linking scholarly information in multi-disciplinary research infrastructures. There is a trend towards linking publications with research data and other information, but, as it is still emerging, this is handled differently by various initiatives and disciplines. For OpenAIRE, a European cross-disciplinary publication infrastructure, this poses the challenge of supporting these heterogeneous practices. Hence, OpenAIRE wants to contribute to the development of a common approach for discipline-independent linking practices between publications, data, pro

Abstract:
The main recommendations of the panel report can be summarised under five key headings. Underpinning all five areas is the recognition that human narratives remain crucial for ensuring the widest access to our shared past. There is no wish to see political and economic narratives abandoned but the need is recognised for there to be an expansion to more social narratives to fully explore the potential of the diverse evidence base. The questions that can be asked are here framed in a national context but they need to be supported and improved a) by the development of regional research frameworks

Abstract:
This brief describes the Population Council's PERCC initiative which conducts rigorous, innovative, cross-disciplinary social science research; uses it to build publicly accessible datasets, tools, and models; and utilizes our findings and insights to help shape climate adaptation policy at every level, from municipalities to national strategies and United Nations agencies. The Council’s approach is underpinned by a climate justice lens, acknowledging that those who contribute the least to climate change are disproportionately harmed.
