Abstract This study was conducted to observe the post-weaning growth performance of Belgian Blue-Crossed (BB-crossed) and Brahman Cross (BX) calves. This study used a total of eighteen calves (BB-crossed = 6 heads and BX = 12 heads) aged 6 months. Calves were reared for six months under the same conditions and management. Calves were observed and measured their growth performance (body weight, body length, heart girth, and withers height). Data were analyzed using One-Way Anova, and for body weight gain and body size gain were analyzed by Ancova with initial body weight and initial body size a

Abstract An Oriental pickling melon (Cucumis melo var. conomon) was crossed with a hermaphroditic melon, and the hermaphroditic form also was crossed with a birds-nest-type melon, with the goal of producing pickling melon breeding lines possessing a concentrated yield. Hermaphroditic and birdsnest breeding lines derived from these crosses produced markedly more fruits per plant and per unit area in a once-over harvest than did the pickling cucumber cultivars tested.

Six genes controlling flowering time or bolting time in Lactuca L. have been reported. Several crosses between parents differing in time to opening of first flower were made to ascertain the inheritance of additional flowering time traits in Lactuca species. The parents in the crosses were of five flowering classes: very late (VL), late (L), early (E), very early (VE), and very, very early (VVE). Segregation from a cross between C-2-1-1 (VL) (L. sativa L.) and `Vanguard 75' (L) confirmed that `Vanguard 75' flowering was controlled by the previously identified gene Ef-2ef-2. This work was written for ten performers plus tape. The instruments are divided into two groups, each with a distinct personality: flute, clarinet, horn, violin and cello in an "orderly" group, and three percussionists, piano, doublebass and tape in a "chaotic" group. The first two sections introduce these groups separately. The third section returns to the order group, which begins to show a chaotic influence. The fourth section, for tape alone, echoes the first in its stability. The final section, for the entire live ensemble, fuses the two groups into a texture which is not entirely chaotic

Abstract:
In finite dimensions, Hopf algebras have a very nice duality theory, as the vector space dual of a finite-dimensional Hopf algebra is also a Hopf algebra in a canonical way. This breaks down in the infinite-dimensional setting, as here the dual need not be a Hopf algebra. Instead, one chooses a subalgebra of the vector space dual called the finite dual. This subalgebra is always canonically a Hopf algebra. In this thesis, we aim to better understand the finite dual by trying to understand how the finite dual of a crossed product relates to the finite duals of its components. We start by invest

The properties of a crossed grating of square pyramids and a crossed grating with hemispherical cavities to eliminate specular reflection from a conducting surface are studied experimentally.
