Abstract:
Abstract Flexural response of crump rubber filled epoxy composites is reported in the present work. Composites are fabricated using open mold casting technique and test specimens are evaluated at normal strain rate. Stress strain profiles of all the specimens reveal brittle mode of fracture. Modulus of crump rubber composites increase with increasing crump rubber content owing to good bonding of constituents and higher elasticity induced by crump rubber particles. Neat epoxy specimens reveal lower modulus than all the composites filled with crump rubber. Strength of all the composites are high

The effect of crump rubber on the dry sliding wear behavior of epoxy composites is investigated in the present study. Wear tests are carried out for three levels of crump rubber (10, 20, and 30 vol.%), normal applied load (30, 40, and 50 N), and sliding distance (1, 3, and 5 km). The wear behavior of crump rubber–epoxy composites is investigated against EN31 steel discs. The hybrid mathematical approach of Taguchi-coupled Grey Relational Analysis (GRA)—Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is used to examine the influence of crump rubber on the tribological response of composites. We stress that the family trees of Crump–Mode–Jagers processes include random recursive trees, preferential attachment trees, binary search trees for which this question has been answered by Bertoin [7], as well as (more general) m-ary search trees, fragmentation trees, and median-of-( $2\ell

The measurement of discharge is one of the main concerns in hydraulic engineering. The study of types of weir on discharge is important as the knowledge of the accurate measurement of discharges helps in understanding of the flow mechanism as well as designing the hydraulic structures for future. Structures such as rectangular weir, vee notch weir and crump weir are placed in a channel to measure the flow rate. By using Bernoulli’s equation, weir equation are derived and used to determine the flow rate. The main objective is to determine the optimum discharge for different types of weirs. This

Abstract:
The yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae has emerged as an ideal model system to study the dynamics of prion proteins which are responsible for a number of fatal neurodegenerative diseases in humans. Within an infected cell, prion proteins aggregate in complexes which may increase in size or be fragmented and are transmitted upon cell division. Recent work in yeast suggests that only aggregates below a critical size are transmitted efficiently. We formulate a continuous-time branching process model of a yeast colony under conditions of prion curing. We generalize previous approaches by providing an
