Context: Allied health care professionals commonly apply cryotherapy as treatment for acute musculoskeletal trauma and the associated symptoms. Understanding the impact of a tape barrier on intramuscular temperature can assist in determining treatment duration for effective cryotherapy. Objective: To determine whether Kinesio® Tape acts as a barrier that affects intramuscular temperature during cryotherapy application. Design: A repeated-measures, counterbalanced design in which the independent variable was tape application and the dependent variable was muscle temperature as measured by therm

Study Objective: To know about the effects of cryotherapy and active stretching together and active stretching alone for improving hamstring flexibility in asymptomatic individuals. Method: 22 subjects were participated in study of the age 18 to 40. Subjects were randomly and equally assigned to static stretching and cryotherapy (group 1) and only active stretching (group 2). Subjects in each group were given stretching and cryotherapy for three weeks. Pre and post assessment of ROM was measured by the KEA, SLR and Sit and reach test. In this work, a novel combination of drug therapy and cryotherapy for tumor treatment was developed. Pluronic F127 modified with poly(acrylic acid) at two terminals (denoted as PAA-PF127-PAA) was used as carriers for doxorubicin (DOX) delivery. Due to the pH-sensitive property endowed by PAA, the DOX-loaded PAA-PF127-PAA micelles released DOX faster in the slightly acidic physiological environment of the tumor site than that in the neutral physiological environment. Three-group rats bearing Walker 256 carcinosarcoma were respectively treated with cryotherapy, combination of DOX-loaded micelles

Abstract:
Cryotherapy is a common non-pharmacological method to relieve pain and inflammation. Clinical studies have shown that cryotherapy can reduce postoperative pain after root canal therapy, but the mechanism remains unclear. In this study, we aimed to investigate the underlying molecular mechanisms by which cryotherapy reduces inflammation in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-stimulated periodontal ligament cells through transcriptome sequencing analysis. We found that cryotherapy significantly reduced the expression of multiple proinflammatory cytokines and chemokines, and NFKB1 was the key regulator down

Acne vulgaris is a well-recognized condition among adolescents and adults that adversely affects their quality of life. Local cryotherapy has long been reported to be effective in treating acne vulgaris, inducing a more rapid involution of acne than topical medications. However, the use of cryotherapy has been limited for acne treatment due to several drawbacks, including procedural pain and pigmentary alterations. Currently, newer cryotherapy devices are gaining attention in dermatology due to their ability to monitor and precisely control the target temperature. In this narrative review, a b
