Dipylidium caninum, a zoonotic parasite, is known to be widely spread across the globe. In this case, we present a report of dipylidiasis in a puppy with the associated pathological lesions. A two-month-old German shepherd puppy was presented to the University of Jos Veterinary Teaching Hospital, Polo, with a complaint of loss of weight and inappetence. The puppy died shortly before treatment could be instituted, and the carcass was submitted for postmortem examination. A flea (Ctenocephalides canis) was identified on the body during the postmortem examination. The lungs were severely pale, an

The incidence of HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancer (HPV+ OPC) is increasing, thus presenting new challenges for disease detection and management. Noninvasive methods involving brush biopsies of diseased tissues were recently reported as insufficient for tumor detection in HPV+ OPC patients, likely due to differences between the site of tumor initiation at the base of involuted crypts and the site of brush biopsy at the crypt surface. We hypothesized that histologically normal surface epithelial cells in the oropharynx contain changes in nuclear morphology that arise due to tumor proximity. We

The Nancy index (NI), a recently developed and validated score, has been shown to accurately represent histological inflammation and to correlate with prognosis. However, it is a composite score, involving the analysis of more than one histological feature, which may limit its applicability. Our aim was to evaluate if a single component of the NI could individually predict prognosis in limited UC (E1 and E2) patients. Methods Multi-centre retrospective cohort study of ne
