Abstract:
Pineapple (Ananas comosus) is one of the most important tropical and subtropical fruit of Bromeliaceae family, cultivated almost one third part of the world. Pineapple takes almost 16 -22 months to mature for harvesting. The main objective of this paper is to analyzed the growth rate in area, production and productivity of pineapple in India as well as Karnataka. The time series data from 2002-03 to 2021-22 for the study. The results revealed that the area (1.94%), production (2.56%) and productivity (0.64%) showed that positive and significant at one per cent level of probability in India. In

Sugarcane (Saccharum officinarum) holds immense significance in India's agricultural, economic and industrial spheres. In Karnataka, sugarcane was cultivated on an area of 6.37 lakh hectares with annual production of 61.15 million tonnes (2021-22). Bagalkote district ranked as the state's second-largest sugarcane producer, accounting for 16.82 per cent of the total cultivated area and contributed for 15.06 per cent in the total production of the state. The present study was conducted to know trends in sugarcane cultivation in Karnataka and Bagalkote district. The secondary data on area, produc

In the present paper, the analysis of growth and instability in production, area and yield of wheat for some wheat growing states of India is carried out by computing compound growth rate (CGR) and Cuddy-Della Valle (CDV) instability index on utilizing secondary time series data of wheat pertaining to the period 2011-2020 in the concerned states. The percentage change in production, area and yield of wheat is examined by considering the base year as 2011. Moreover, the percentage share of production, area and yield of wheat are demonstrated graphically for the year 2020.

This paper intends to study the Spatio-temporal growth of the walnut crop in Jammu & Kashmir, which holds a monopoly in walnut production in India. It also aims to assess the efficiency of the existing marketing channels of the walnut-crop in the region. A multi-stage random selection technique was used to collect primary data from three major walnut producing districts to identify the existing marketing channels and estimate their respective efficiencies. Compound-Annual-Growth-rate and Cuddy-Della-Valle index was used to estimate the growth of the walnut crop. Shepherd’s Marketing Effici

In this study, five methods were used to find instability and the growth trend in yield for four cereal crops (Durum wheat, Bread Wheat, Barley, and Oats) in Setif -Algeria-. The data source used to evaluate the growth trends and instability in yield is the mean grain yield of ten years (2014-2024). The graphical analysis demonstrates that the growth trends in Bread wheat its positive; but the DCI -Cuddy Della Valle Index- classified it as a high-instability crop. In addition, the combined analysis of both instability indices (Coefficient of Variation (CV) and Coppock Instability Index (CII))

This study analyzed the growth, instability and decomposition of chili cultivation in India over a period of 30-year using secondary data. The study was divided into three sub-periods: 1993–2002, 2003–2012 and 2013–2022, examining variations in area, production, and yield. Growth trends were measured using the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR), and variability was assessed through the Cuddy-Della Valle Instability Index (CDVI). Despite a decline in cultivated area, the results showed that chili production and yield increased, especially during the period 2013–2022. The decomposition analysis
