Microaggressions were defined further by Sue and colleagues in 2007, and this construct has found growing utility as the deleterious effects of microaggressions on the health of people of color continues to mount. Many studies seek to frame microaggressions in terms of a taxonomic analysis of offender behavior to inform the assessment of and interventions for the reduction of racial microaggressions. My thesis is that, despite the authors’ reticence, considerations in first philosophy regarding humans and nonhumans are relevant to their goal of building a more comprehensive animal rights philosophy. What is more, I believe that first philosophy actually can be of help for their proposal, specifically in the form of phenomenology and phenomenological ontology. Prima della conquista aragonese, Ognissanti si affidava alla protezione dell'Arcivescovo di Torres e della influente famiglia Palas. Abstract:
Titles in the Core Text series take the reader straight to the heart of the subject, providing focused, concise, and reliable guides for students at all levels. This chapter discusses the constitution of the company, with emphasis on the articles of association. It first outlines the operation of the memorandum and the articles before turning to the law surrounding the contract of membership under s 33 of the Companies Act 2006. It then considers some elements of corporate theory in relation to the articles of association, contract between the company and the members, contract between the members, the question of who is entitled to sue to enforce the s 33 contract, and the issue of outsider rights with respect to the s 33 contract. The chapter also looks at the historical reforms proposed by the Company Law Review Steering Group for the Companies Act 2006 and concludes by analysing the effects of shareholder agreements on the statutory obligation of the company.

Abstract:
The chapter unpacks the book’s method as a history of living activists, set in the context of feminism’s affiliation with oral history and life-course analysis. It discusses the S&A oral history archive on which the book is based, outlining how S&A approached interviewee selection and representation, and acknowledging how such questions continue to divide the movement. Offering an overview of feminist oral history practice, addressing the ethics involved and the interpretative challenges of working with memory, subjectivity and emotion, it shows how the ‘baby boomers’, ‘second generation migrants’ and ‘lesbian-feminists’ who powered the WLM were shaped by the post-war worlds in which they grew up, and talked back to these categories, particularly as they gained control over fertility. The chapter concludes with the story of Sue Lopez, women’s footballer and champion for women’s rights in the sport, demonstrating oral history’s ethical challenges whilst celebrating an inspiring athlete and campaigner. 149 words

Full text
Abstract:
This chapter considers two ‘land torts’: trespass to land and private nuisance. Trespass to land protects a person in possession of land against direct invasion of his property. The right to sue includes not only those with a proprietorial interest in the land, such as owners and tenants, but also those who have exclusive occupation such as squatters. The fact that any invasion of land, however minute and whether it causes damage or not, is a trespass, indicates that the primary function of this tort is to protect rights in property, rather than simply to provide compensation. The chapter continues by distinguishing between public and private nuisance. It then discusses the interests protected in private nuisance; the standard of reasonable user; the person(s) liable for nuisance; remoteness of damage; statutory authority and planning permission; and the effect of the Human Rights Act 1998 on nuisance claims.

"the agreement under which the grantor (most likely) agreed to register the transaction, it is hard to see on what basis they might argue. The grantee, the party most likely to be prejudiced by the failure to register, could have registered it herself. Of course, if it can be shown that notwithstanding the failure to register the person acquiring the rights knew of the earlier transaction, it will be effective. Licensees are given rights of action by the new Act: but if the licence is not registered, s 25(2)(b) provides that the licensee can neither sue nor call on the licensor to sue. Nor will any loss sustained by the unregistered licensee be taken into account in assessing the damages payable where the proprietor has brought infringement proceedings. This provision will encourage (without making mandatory) the registration of licences: in this it resembles the 1938 Act. Where a transfer of ownership has not been registered, the Act provides that the right to damages or an account of profits will be limited. An application to register the transaction must have been made within six months after the date of the transaction, otherwise the new proprietor will not be entitled to compensation for anything happening between becoming the proprietor and registering the fact. A court may override this rule if it is satisfied that it was not practicable for the particulars of the transmission or assignment to be registered in that time. It must however have been registered as soon as practicable thereafter. This provision closely resembles s 68 of the Patents Act 1977. Trusts." In Sourcebook on Intellectual Property Law.
