The lands of the Naparima Peneplain, Trinidad and Tobago, are an invaluable resource with multiple land use characteristics including agricultural diversification. Sections are classified as Class V soils, non-resilient with minimum recovery over the medium term, and as Class IV soils, slightly resilient with improvements in medium term resulting in significant land management and land use changes. These lands were under sugarcane cultivation for centuries, from the colonial era until the closure of the sugar factory in 2003. Since then, as in so many other Caribbean territories, the land has

Rational use of natural resources and preservation of environment in good conditions are the basis of stable state of the ecosystem. Mountain soil erosion is the most common process of degradation. Soil protection from erosion is becoming a global problem in the world, and in Uzbekistan, in particular. Natural conditions of the region create a potential danger of soil erosion. The reason for its manifestation is the misuse of land, non-compliance with necessary requirements for soil protection. Each year, approximately 75 billion tons of soil are eroded from the Earth’s terrestrial ecosystems and the majority of agricultural land in the world is losing soil at rates of between 13 tons/ha/year and 40 tons/ha/year. South Africa is prone to soil erosion, because of poor farming methods, together with soils which are erodible. In order to understand more about the nature of soil erosion in South Africa, the geology and lithology needs to be well understood too. Integrated agricultural practices contribute to increasing and restoring the fertility of washed lands, reducing water erosion of soils on the slopes. When cultivating eroded soils, it is necessary to introduce organic and mineral fertilizers into the arable layer, enrich it with nutrients and eliminate the acid reaction. To do this, you need to carry out deep plowing up to 30 cm with the simultaneous introduction of organic matter and mineral fertilizers. If the soil is acidic, then liming is necessary. This will help to create a better soil environment and better absorption of fertilizers.
