This study investigates objectives and aims. A novel method of targeting the bacteriostatic efficacy of chicken egg yolk polyclonal antibodies (IgY) against Staphylococcus aureus in vitro. The research problem. Bacterial spot disease in tomato is of great economic importance worldwide and it is particularly severe in warm and moist areas affecting yield and quality of tomato fruits. Causal agent of spot disease is the Gram-negative bacterium Xanthomonas campestris pv. vesicatoria (Xcv), which can be a contaminant on tomato seeds, or survive in plant debris and in association with certain weeds. Chair-side rapid detection of mutans streptococci is an important aid to clinical dental caries risk assessment. The proposal was aimed to identify and functionally characterize key genes/enzymes in the citrus flavanone neohesperidoside biosynthetic pathway and to use them as tools for metabolic engineering to decrease bitterness levels in grapefruit.
