Abstract:
Araeococcus goeldianus L.B. Smith (1955) is endemic to the Guiana Shield (French Guiana and Brazil). It was described by specimens collected by J. Huber in 1895 in Amapá (Oiapoque, Vila Cunani), remaining undescribed for 60 years until its publication by Lyman B. Smith in 1955. The present work presents its rediscovery at the type locality, allowing us to extend its morphological characterization (floral structures, colors, measurements), presenting an amendment to the original description, besides information about habitat, conservation status (treated here as Vulnerable, D2), geographic distribution, photos of the species in its habitat, and structures under scanning electron microscopy.

Abstract:

Abstract:

Abstract:
Cunaxidae is a cosmopolitan mite family consisting only of predatory species. Prompted by the goals of “Species 2000”, a database for the cunaxids was prepared and made available at www.catalogueoflife.org. The family is presently arranged in five subfamilies, six tribes, 27 genera and 329 species. The three largest subfamilies are Cunaxinae, Coleoscirinae and Cunaxoidinae. Cunaxa is themost species-rich genus, followed by Armascirus and Coleoscirus. Most of the authors of new cunaxid species have theirworking bases in the Palaearctic,Oriental andNearctic Regions. By far, the largest numbers of species have been described fromSouthAfrica, USAand Philippines, but the distribution of the described speciesmay not reflect the actual diversity of thesemites around the globe. Rather, itmay reflect the variable dedication of authors in different countries in their study. In most countries, taxonomic studies of the cunaxids have hardly started, and much remains to be investigated. However, an immediate threat to the future of cunaxid taxonomy refers to the fact that most of the cunaxid taxonomists are retired, and that replacement by new taxonomists has not been considered a priority. Efforts should be directed to change this trend, motivating new professionals to take the cunaxids at least as part of their working priorities. In this work, I comment on the experience in trying to establish a database for the Cunaxidae, provide themost relevant results of this effort in relation to that family, and provide comments and advice for other professionals interested in doing similarwork for othermite groups.

Abstract:
Cunang fish (Congresox talabon) has the potential as a raw material for fish protein hydrolyzates. Hydrolysis of cunang fish using the enzyme papain were produced peptides and amino acids that have antioxidant activity. The aim of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of the protein hydrolyzate of cunang fish using different papain enzyme concentrations. This study used an experimental method with a completely randomized non-factorial design with three replications, with different papain enzyme concentrations (2%, 4%, 6%). The analysis parameters consisted of proximate content analysis in fish meat, degree of hydrolysis, the dissolved protein of the Bradford method, and the antioxidant activity of the DPPH method on the protein hydrolysate. The results showed that the protein content of cunang fish had 73.15% (bk). The papain enzyme concentration of 6% was the best concentration hydrolyze cunang meat, is produced. protein hydrolysate. The results of the protein hydrolyzate analysis showed that the degree of hydrolysis was 46.23%, the dissolved protein was 11.64% and the antioxidant activity was 549.16 ppm. Enzyme hydrolysis can increase dissolved protein content which is directly proportional to the increase in antioxidant activity.

Abstract:
Nancy Cunard presents us with one of modernism’s most concentrated examples of the role of persona in shaping the reception of a literary figure. A writer, publisher, and activist, Cunard was firmly entrenched in the working world, an attachment that she makes clear in her varied autobiographical writings. By contrast, the tabloid press, other modernists, and critics have deployed various versions of Cunard – a series of personas marked by their variety (racist vs. race reformer; dilettante vs. pioneering intellectual); the intensity of the debate as to which one constitutes the ‘real’ Nancy Cunard; and, frequently, the marked exclusion of many of Cunard’s working activities. In this process-based account, the author considers the range and scope of the personas that have circulated around Cunard, Cunard’s establishment of a working counter-persona in her autobiographical writing, and the processes of working with these competing iterations in her play about Cunard’s life and work, These Were the Hours.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: This research aimed at comparing the qualitative chemical compositions and the surface morphology of fracture regions of eight types of Nickel (Ni) Titanium (Ti) conventional wires, superelastic and heat-activated (GAC, TP, Ormco, Masel, Morelli and Unitek), to the wires with addition of copper (CuNiTi 27oC and 35oC, Ormco) after traction test. METHODS: The analyses were performed in a scanning electronic microscope (JEOL, model JSM-5800 LV) with EDS system of microanalysis (energy dispersive spectroscopy). RESULTS : The results showed that NiTi wires presented Ni and Ti as the main elements of the alloy with minimum differences in their composition. The CuNiTi wires, however, presented Ni and Ti with a significant percentage of copper (Cu). As for surface morphology, the wires that presented the lowest wire-surface roughness were the superelastic ones by Masel and Morelli, while those that presented the greatest wire-surface roughness were the CuNiTi 27oC and 35oC ones by Ormco, due to presence of microcavity formed as a result of pulling out some particles, possibly of NiTi. 4 The fracture surfaces presented characteristics of ductile fracture, with presence of microcavities. The superelastic wires by GAC and the CuNiTi 27oC and the heat-activated ones by Unitek presented the smallest microcavities and the lowest wire-surface roughness with regard to fracture, while the CuNiTi 35oC wires presented inadequate wire-surface roughness in the fracture region. CONCLUSION: CuNiTi 35oC wires did not present better morphologic characteristics in comparison to the other wires with regard to surfaces and fracture region.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVE: This research aimed to compare, through traction tests, eight types of superelastic and heat-activated NiTi archwires, by six trade companies (GAC, TP, Ormco, Masel, Morelli and Unitek) to those with addition of copper (CuNiTi 27ºC and 35ºC, Ormco). METHODS: The tests were performed in an EMIC mechanical testing machine, model DL10000, capacity of 10 tons, at the Military Institute of Engineering (IME). RESULTS: The results showed that, generally, heat-activated NiTi archwires presented slighter deactivation loadings in relation to superelastic. Among the archwires that presented deactivation loadings biologically more adequate are the heat-activated by GAC and by Unitek. Among the superelastic NiTi, the CuNiTi 27ºC by Ormco were the ones that presented slighter deactivation loadings, being statistically (ANOVA) similar, to the ones presented by the heat-activated NiTi archwires by Unitek. When compared the CuNiTi 27ºC and 35ºC archwires, it was observed that the 27ºC presented deactivation forces of, nearly, ⅓ of the presented by the 35ºC. CONCLUSION: It was concluded that the CuNiTi 35ºC archwires presented deactivation loadings biologically less favorable in relation to the other heat-activated NiTi archwires, associated to lower percentage of deformation, on the constant baselines of deactivation, showing less adequate mechanical behavior, under traction, in relation to the other archwires.

Abstract:
The fabrication of thermally stable Schottky contacts with high barrier height (BH) to InP is one of the main challenges for InP-based device technology. CuNiTi/p-InP Schottky barrier diodes (SBDs) (25 dots) on p-InP substrate were fabricated by conventional vacuum deposition. Characteristic parameters such as BH and ideality factor (n) of as-deposited and annealed CuNiTi/p-InP diodes have been computed by thermionic emission (TE) theory from the forward-bias current-voltage (I-V) data, at room temperature and in dark. The value of BH and n varies from 0.452 to 0.631 eV and 1.172 to 2.815, respectively for the as-deposited SBDs. The results showed that characteristic parameters of CuNiTi/p-InP structures differ from one device to another even though they were identically prepared. Hence, to overcome these problems post thermal annealing was implemented since the annealing process can improve the interfacial quality as well as can induce a recrystallization of the gate metals. BH values for CuNiTi/p-InP SBDs have also varied from 0.765 to 0.804 eV, and ideality factor n from 1.161 to 1.253 after annealing at 500 °C for two minutes. As a result of the thermal annealing, it has been seen that the BH values of the annealed SBDs are larger than those of the as-deposited ones. A statistical study on the diode parameters has been made. The experimental BH and ideality factor distributions were fitted by a Gaussian distribution (GD) function. Lateral homogeneous BH (φhom.) values of 0.628 eV and 0.886 eV for the as-deposited and annealed CuNiTi/p-InP SBDs has been obtained from the φeff.-n plots by using Tung’s lateral inhomogeneity approach. An increment of 0.258 eV in the BH for the 500 °C annealing devices with respect to that of the as-deposited ones has been ascribed to the formation of the positively charged interface defects that electrically actives in the metal-semiconductor (MS) interface.

Abstract:
The development of technology in orthodontic field produces some orthodontic wires that have different deflection abilities. Loading force is the force needed to place an orthodontic wire in bracket slot (activation). Unloading force is the force produced by an orthodontic wire to move tooth (deactivation). Deflection test with three-point bending technique is a technique that is often used to determine the magnitude of the activation and deactivation force of orthodontic wire. Stainless steel (SS), nickel titanium (NiTi), copper nickel titanium (CuNiTi), and beta titanium (TMA), are the types of frequently used wires. This study aimed to compare loading and unloading force on the deflection test of SS, NiTi, CuNiTi, and TMA orthodontic wires sized 0.016 x 0.022 inch on the load-deflection graph. This is a laboratoryexperimental research on a total of 16 pieces of SS, NiTi, CuNiTi, and TMA orthodontic wires sized 0.016 x 0.022 inches. The group was divided based on the type of material. The deflection test was performed using a universal testing machine with a press speed of 5 mm/minute. Loading and unloading forces were recorded on deflections of 0.5; 1; and1.5 mm. Statistical tests of differences among groups were carried out by ANOVA analysis (p-value ≤ 0.05) and post-hoc analysis with T-test. There were significant differences in the loading and unloading forces recorded on deflections of 0.5; 1; and 1.5 mm; except for deflections of 0.5 mm of the SS and nickel-titanium wires. The wire deflection force fromthe lowest to the highest was CuNiTi wire, nickel-titanium wire, TMA wire, and stainless-steel wire.

Abstract:
Cruise tourism is an obviously global industry in different dimensions. From a geographical perspective, cruise ships are mobile and capable of being repositioned at a company’s notice, which forms the inherent basis for its global spatial layout. As a branch of the cruise industry, the world cruise is clearly globalizing in geographical space by offering long itinerary, even round-the-world trips, for everyone. Using the schedule data from 2018 to 2019, this paper analyzes the spatial characteristics of the itinerary and port organization of Cunard, a world cruise company. We find that the itinerary distribution and port organization of Cunard are both globalization and regionalization, and the latter is the core and main component of the former. Under the influence of the COVID-19 epidemic, the global mobility of cruises has ground to a halt, while local mobility offers the possibility of its resumption as soon as possible. Turning to the regional voyage with the shorter and simple itinerary is feasible for Cunard and other world cruises, which is conducive to the realization of the resuming voyage as soon as possible. Moreover, strict boarding and safety onboard are essential.

Abstract:
Abstract In modern orthodontics, thermally activated archwires are used more widely in clinical practice, because they have unique properties like superelasticity and bio-compatibility. The aim of the present study was to characterize commercial 35° C Cu-NiTi archwires in terms of their phase transition behavior, chemical composition, surface topography properties after clinical usage, as well as the influence of the autoclaving process. Materials and methods. 35° C Thermo-Active Copper NiTi (CuNiTi) of ORMCO, Glendora, CA, USA (as-received, as-received autoclaved and clinically retrieved) with rectangular cross-section and dimension 0.016x0.022 inch, were investigated. The physicochemical research was conducted via Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDX) and X-ray Diffraction Analysis (XRD). The autoclaving was done in Runyes model B autoclave. Results. The DSC results revealed the austenite start (9.8° C; 26.47° C) and austenite finish (28° C; 31.74° C) temperatures for the as-received and autoclaved archwires respectively. For clinically retrieved samples the austenite finish temperature (Af) is around 27° C. The XRD patterns of the as-received and clinically retrieved samples show almost identical diffraction patterns. Rough surface of the CuNiTi alloy was revealed by the SEM analysis. Autoclaving process seems to have no effects on archwires’ structure and chemical composition. Chemical content of the investigated as-received CuNiTi are Ni, Ti and Cu: 47.07 wt% and 46.81 wt% and 6.11 wt%, respectively. The autoclaving process seems to have little influence on the transition temperature. The results from our study showed little difference (~7 °C) in the finish transition temperatures (Af), compared to the manufacturer’s claim. No intermediate R phase was detected by DSC. Conclusion. A good knowledge of the structural changes that occur in CuNiTi alloys in the oral cavity is useful for the orthodontists in order to optimize orthodontic treatment.

Abstract:
The Cunard shipping line regarded itself as the premier provider of transatlantic passenger transport. As the structure of society on both sides of the Atlantic changed between 1910 and 1940 the company sought to maintain its market amongst the richest of society whilst attracting new passengers from the emerging middle class. Accordingly, Cunard adjusted its marketing in advertisements, brochures, promotional films and ship designs. Two passenger classes, the well-established First Class and the new Tourist Third Class are used to show how the company used all these media to both influence potential passengers' travel decisions and to reassure them of a safe, comfortable voyage in surroundings appropriate to their status, tastes and expectations.

The bending performance of lead frame materials is a very important in improving the quality of lead frame alloys and meeting the needs of high performance integrated circuit. The sringback amount of curvature variation of CuFeP , CuCrZrMg , CuNiSi and CuCrSnZn alloy are researched by numerical simulation. Bending model is built by 3D modeling software, and the necessary post-processing is carried out. The bending springback amount △K of the four kinds of copper alloy materials are calculated out. The results show that the sringback amount of curvature variation of four copper alloys at the same condition from large to small in turn is CuCrZrMg, CuNiSi, CuFeP, CuCrSnZn. Smaller the minimum relatively bending radius of copper alloy used in lead frame, less the springback amount and better the forming performance.

The author brings us closer to the first creative stage of this artist from Puno, marked by the woodcuts he published in the Boletín Titikaka (Puno: 1926-1930) and other magazines of the time, which can be seen as the representation and expression of the pictorial aesthetics of the avant-garde that was practiced in the Peruvian south. In this line, it is important to revalue and rescue the art of Peralta/Kunurana, until today an artist little known and valued in Peruvian painting despite the various artistic records that nurtured his work. Keywords: Demetrio Peralta, Diego Kunurana, Woodcut, Boletín Titikaka, Cunan, Peruvian painting, Puno

ABSTRACT: The present study investigated the morphology and pathology associated with the occurrence of cysts caused by Myxobolus sp. in the intestine of the silver catfish Rhamdia quelen . Comparisons with the other Myxobolus species that infect the intestines of cyprinids and siluriforms revealed that the pyriform spores of Myxobolus sp. are similar in shape to those described previously in M. miyairii, M. duodenalis and M. cunhai, but different in size. Morphometric analyses revealed that mature spores of Myxobolus sp. (10.9 x 5.1μm) are smaller than those of most species except M. cunhai (10.0 x 5.0μm), which has been described infecting the Brazilian catfish Pimelodus clarias , although the spores differ morphologically in relation to the shape of the polar capsules. Further research is necessary in order to clarify the taxonomic and phylogenetic relationships among these congeneric species.
