Abstract:
One of the major trends in national, European and international relations is the recognition and enshrinement, through significant acts, of fundamental rights and freedoms belonging to persons with disabilities who, due to their special situation, require appropriate legal protection and special attention from the legislator at national, European and international level. This is the objective of the present study: to compare the different means used by one or the other of the current regulations in order to better understand their technical particularities - it is well known that comparative i

Measuring the Political Economy of Tax Lawmaking: A Methodology and Evidence from Argentina. Inter-American Development Bank, 2013. http://dx.doi.org/10.18235/0011521.

Abstract:
Although recent research has shed new light on the political determinants and economic consequences of tax lawmaking, existing analyses rely on coarse data measuring political aggregates. Consequently, little is known about the political processes determining how tax legislation is written or their effect on the nature of tax reforms. This paper therefore develops a methodology to examine how Congress edits the content of tax legislation by measuring the ways Deputies, Senators, Presidents, and Ministers propose and amend such legislation. The Legislative Substance Scale proposed here measures

Abstract:
This paper explores policy and legislation aimed at preventing, regulating, and abolishing harmful children’s work in Ghana, and the political debates and controversies surrounding these mechanisms. The paper critically interrogates the successes and challenges of previous and current policies and interventions. It concludes that legislation and interventions aimed at preventing hazardous or harmful work should incorporate both the formal legislative rights discourse and the informal, traditional rights discourse to successfully navigate the political terrain, thereby accelerating attainment o

Abstract:
The definition of a swimming pool is based on the Australian Standard (AS1926.1-2012 Safety Barriers for Swimming Pools) which states a swimming pool is “any structure containing water to a depth greater than 300 mm and used primarily for swimming, wading, paddling or the like, including a bathing or wading pool, or spa pool.” Pool fencing legislation is governed at a jurisdictional level, with each State or Territory responsible for their own compliance laws, swimming pool registers and inspection regimes. Provided a portable pool can be filled to a depth of at least 300mm, it is included in

Abstract:
This working paper examines the legal framework underpinning Cambodia’s decentralisation reforms initiated in 2001, focusing on the harmonisation of laws and regulations that support the devolution of authority to commune and sangkat councils. It provides a comprehensive analysis of the historical evolution of decentralisation, the current legal and institutional structures, and the challenges posed by overlapping, inconsistent, and incomplete legislation. The study highlights the absence of a clear policy guiding decentralisation and deconcentration, resulting in fragmented legal instruments
