Abstract:
Science is rapidly changing with vast amounts of new information and technologies available. However, traditional instructional formats do not adequately prepare a diverse population of learners who need to evaluate and use knowledge, not simply memorize facts. Moreover, curricular change has been glacially slow. One starting goal for curricular change can be identifying the features of a current curriculum, including potential areas for improvement, but a model is needed to accomplish that goal. The vast majority of studies related to curricular change have been conducted in K-12 environments, with an increasing number in post-secondary environments. Herein, we describe a model for science curriculum evaluation that we designed by integrating a number of different approaches. That model evaluates the intended, enacted, and achieved components of the curriculum, anchored by analyzing learning outcomes through five lenses: (i) a scientific Framework reported by the US National Research Council, (ii) systems thinking, (iii) equity, diversity, and inclusion, (iv) professional skills, and (v) learning skills. No curriculum evaluation models to date have used the five learning outcomes lenses that we describe herein. As a proof of principle, we applied the evaluation model to one organic chemistry course, which revealed areas of strength and possible deficiencies. This model could be used to evaluate other science courses or programs. Possible deficiencies may be addressed in other courses, in the course at hand, or may not be deemed necessary or important to address, demonstrating the potential for this evaluation to generate areas for discussion and ultimately, improvements to post-secondary science education.

Abstract:
Evaluation is a task of great importance in the service of the teaching/learning that allows us to check whether or not specific educational objectives have been achieved.Currently, with the emergence of active pedagogies, according to several points of view, new challenges have emerged other than simply assessment. As far as Moroccan education is concerned, assessment focuses on the level of mastery of specific skills on the part of learners at the beginning, during and at the end of the year, as well as at the end of each period of learning. Our present research is interested in the taking into consideration the evaluation of experimental skills in the physical sciences as part of the Moroccan educational system. To be able to check the hypotheses that have been advanced in our study, we developed a questionnaire that was distributed to a sample of physics-chemistry secondary school teachers in Morocco. The majority of the teachers in our sample have reported several constraints, including a lack of material necessary to plan and implement the work practices needed to provide an adequate education in terms of experimental activity in the field of physics-chemistry. Abstract:
The purpose of this research was to study the need assessment of internal supervision in secondary schools under the jurisdiction of the Office of Basic Education Commission, Thailand. A total of 944 teachers participated in the survey using multistage random sampling. The five scopes of internal supervision were investigated, namely, academic in curriculum development, development of learning process, evaluation and comparison of grades transfer, development of innovative media and digital technology, and educational supervision using a 43-items questionnaire. The need assessment results showed that the development of innovative media and digital technology (PNImodified=0.373) is the most essential scope of internal supervision according to respondents’ perceptions. This is followed by the development of the learning process (PNImodified=0.267), educational supervision (PNImodified=0.262), and evaluation and comparison of grades transfer (PNImodified=0.257). The least capacity scope is academic in curriculum development (PNImodified=0.246). The overall results imply that supervisors or school principals should attempt to ensure that internal supervisions are regularly operated to improve the teaching and learning process by paying more attention to the scope of development of innovative media and digital technology without ignoring the other four scopes.

Abstract:
Educational research points to similar learning experiences across different countries, in particular that physical science tends to be an unpopular discipline among students from secondary school. The use of students’ voice to adapt curriculum and implement innovative teaching practice has been gaining relevance towards the effort of potentiating positive and meaningful learning experiences. The present research discusses the voice of 1139 Angolan students from one public school attending the first cycle of secondary education (7th to 9th grade) considering their physics classes. Students’ voice was accessed through the application of a questionnaire which included open and closed questions, some in the format of statements requiring students to indicate their individual opinion. Descriptive statistics to ten specific aspects of their physics classes points to a global scenario of transmissive teaching and a lack of laboratorial and technological resources. Moreover, laboratorial work, suggested in national curriculum to cover topics in Physics, and students’ involvement in assessment seems to decrease from 7th to 9th grade. Identified patterns revealed to be statistically significant. Based on these results three specific recommendations for educational stakeholders are presented. The consideration of students’ voice in curriculum and school management is particularly innovative, not only but also for Angolan contexts and particularly relevant considering that the Angolan curriculum reform is presently under evaluation. Finally, educational researchers around the world may find relevant insights for their own educational challenges taking into account the milestones associated to the fourth goal of the Sustainable Development Goals, which is focused in assuring a quality education for all. Abstract:
The reform of secondary education has been a fundamental part of national educational policy in Argentina since the beginning of the 1990s. Along with the decentralization of responsibilities to provinces and a new structure of primary and secondary education, changes have affected the areas of curriculum design, teaching methods, teacher training, school management, and information and evaluation systems. This study describes the main policies on secondary education implemented during the last decade, including their objectives and rationales. Focusing on how the reform can be seen to relate to issues of access, quality and equity, the study presents an analysis of its implementation, and discusses some of its effects. We argue that political, economic and technical factors as well as the strategies chosen by the national government resulted in a limited implementation, and we highlight the need for considering more focused reform strategies, alternative models of teacher training, and a more active involvement of teachers.

Abstract:
The interdisciplinary approach has risen in the modern curricula as it is considered an important and challenging technique. Physical education is a prime content area for interdisciplinary learning. In order to integrate different subject areas into Physical Education lessons, the specialist needs to learn more about the academic curriculum. Integrating core subjects with physical activity can easily be done and can be very beneficial to student learners in all levels of Education. A great effort is done in addition to be integrated with other subjects. Over the last twenty years there have been frequent internal changes at international level, which also affect pre-school curricula. This trend has been intensified in recent years, with unprecedented mobility being observed, to the point of demanding a fundamental reform of the educational mission of the kindergarten. An interdisciplinary approach has been at the core of attention in primary and secondary school education recently. In this approach, teachers collaborate to invent and apply more effective means of teaching by associating the subjects and activities of a school subject in the curriculum with other subjects. The basic aim and purpose is to cultivate skills and values such as cooperatives, flexibility, adaptability, solidarity, but above all to provide basic knowledge, exploration, classification, selection, evaluation, resolution, and observation.

Abstract:
This article addresses topics related to Japanese sociology of education over the past three decades. The main academic interests of Japanese sociology of education have been educational choice and socialization in secondary education, topics also discussed in Durkheim’s masterwork, L’Évolution pédagogique en France. The interests of Japanese researchers in the sociology of education were aroused because of drastic changes in the youth labor market in the mid-1990s and national curriculum reforms influenced by international educational evaluation, such as the Programme for International Student Assessment, in the 2000s. Though the number of empirical studies has increased substantially over the past two decades, this field must make efforts to develop its theoretical sophistication in order to connect to worldwide research on sociology of education.

Abstract:
The toy presents a little discovered image of a culture. In addition to being an important object of nostalgia, it is also considered as a research and study subject. The rapidly increasing number of toy museums has also gained importance in transferring economic, sociological, social, and cultural characteristics of the toy. Toy museums have responsibilities such as protecting toys that are threatened with extinction during the rapid change in technology, conducting research on childhood and history of education, raising awareness of history, helping to establish intergenerational communication, and emphasizing the importance of toys in child development. Toy Museums develop educational activities for different ages and interest groups based on their collections. Effective use of collections in museums and the presentation of available resources for visitors with fun, attractive, and different learning methods is one of the characteristics of museum education. Learning from the object, which is one of the basic concepts of museum education, can provide an experience with real objects. The Ankara University Toy Museum can be used as an educational laboratory for courses in preschool, primary, and secondary school education programs within the context of its current collection. The museum can be visited with an appointment with a guide. Search and find activities through collection themes etc. are accompanied by the museum guides and educators. In this study, the evaluation of the design processes of the education booklets of the Toy Museum is determined. The booklets include museum guided tours, and structured educational activities like "before the museum, museum practice, and post museum" activities. Museum booklets have an evaluation section that enables the student to receive feedback where they are expected to make a sustainable contribution to the promotion of the museum. In this context, this paper evaluates the effectiveness of preschool, primary, and secondary school education books that were prepared for the toy museum in line with the feedback of students participating in museum education by establishing a link between the curriculum and the museum collection. Abstract:
There is a wide demand for professionals related to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) field; nevertheless, the number of students is decreasing every day, and the presence of women is also scarce. Within the Spanish context, different programs are promoting measures for STEM skills’ development; however, they are neither collected nor evaluated under a common umbrella. For that reason, it seems appropriate to investigate the possibilities of carrying out a STEM certification, involving the management and teaching practice of secondary and high school education centers. The present work has developed an evaluation instrument based on the work by The Friday Institute for Educational Innovation from the North Carolina State University (USA). The model proposed looking at obtaining a high-quality STEM Center certification in the Spanish context, seeking to guarantee that the efforts made are systematically collected and evaluated in a common framework. This model includes an evaluation rubric with 5 dimensions and a series of indicators, classifying the centers in 4 levels of development. The aim is to provide a framework to establish, monitor and guide their STEM culture development with a global perspective, counting with the entire educational community, working on STEM skills in a transversal manner.

Abstract:
This article describes a unique approach to involving cultural communities in elaborating curricula for training early childhood educators. This ‘Generative Curriculum Model (GCM) has been demonstrated in partnership programs between the authors and seven Canadian aboriginal communities. Indigenous experiences and culturally-valued knowledge are articulated by tribal Elders and considered alongside mainstream research and theory about child development and care. Ongoing evaluation research has documented the success of this model in facilitating completion of post-secondary training and career development among aboriginal students. The training resonates with the students’ own culture, and community members are involved throughout the training in dialogue and planned actions for delivering services for children and their families based on their own cultural constructions of childhood and effective care. The process and impacts of this training model in seven aboriginal communities in Canada are discussed in postmodernist terms. The legitimacy and potential utility of indigenous knowledge are acknowledged and multiple perspectives are brought to bear in elaborating effective praxis in community-driven early childhood care and education.

Abstract:
So, here some major points were discussed such as the interactive teaching methods and research in teaching methodology of biology. If we look at to the topics that covered in this research, we will see a big difference between what should be and what is actually taught. We can conclude that in Azerbaijan schools have insufficient attention to the curriculum. Lessons are not held in accordance with the rules that established during the education. As a result, the student is not able to perceive completely the modern textbook. The subject curriculum has its own characteristics. For example, the use of active teaching methods, assessment of knowledge and conception, involvement to the training and etc. According to the new educational program, biology is teaching in the general secondary and complete secondary education levels. The content of the learning during the training must be compatible in accordance to the curriculum standards. If we look at the current lessons, we will see that the curriculum remains being just the term at the same time. There are specific reasons for this. Thus, the curriculum is not sufficiently appropriated to teachers. This term is not used properly because its true meaning has not been conveyed. Abstract:
Islamic Studies is included as a compulsory subject in the Syllabi taught in Schools, Colleges and Universities of Pakistan. While preparing the prescribed courses intended for Islamic Studies (compulsory) special emphasis is placed on focusing the entire religion i.e Beliefs ,Worship, Ethics etc in the course. Translation and Tafsir of Qur’inic verses and Hadi’th is also made part of the curriculam. Along with the moderen education a student can also be informed about Islam , so that a young generation with a sound knowledge on all lines emerges from educational institutions to meet the future challenges. To achieve this goal great attention is paid to the preperation of the curricula by using experties in the field, but even then errors do ocure in the form of incorrect wording of the Ahadiths and inclusion of less authentic sayings of the holy prophet (SAW) which amounts to commiting a great sin by misguieding the youth regarding the factual position of the divine knowledge thus leaving the mind ill informed about their religion which might prove disastreous for the society in future as the young mind carries with him whatever he learns at school and his formative years. There is a great demand for judging the validity of the less authentic sayings of the holy prophet (SAW) and the need for passing them through research filters is being felt in the educational circles. The article under consideration here aims at probing into the details of the origin of the Ahadiths prescribed for the1st part of the Secondary School Certificate Course. Abstract:
The article investigates the instrumentalizing and ontological effects of the concept of equality of educational opportunity (EEO). Starting with the Coleman report ( Coleman et al., 1966 ), through the democratization of secondary and tertiary education, and reading it in light of the recent debate on educationalization of social problems ( Smeyers and Depaepe, 2008 ), the text inquires what has become of education under the influence of this powerfull concept. The evolution of this becoming is shaped by the paradox of equal treatment and selection, two fundamental principles on which the EEO ideal is based. ( Dubet, 2008 ). The objectivity of evaluation and comparability of results that this ideal implies sets EEO as one of the most important bases for the development of quantitative evaluation and testing, thus transforming the curriculum and shaping educational practices ( Stańczyk, 2013 ; Terrail, 2002 ). Moreover, the EEO principle brings the educational system to legitimize social inequalities: since it means treating students equally while they have to be ranked and come out segregated, the belief in inequality of intelligence is being reinforced, and inequalities are educationalized instead of being alleviated. Finally, the research shows that EEO policy and the EEO concept is pedagogically empty, mainly serving as an expression, or allegory of our concern with social inequalities ( Labaree, 2008 ; Rancière, 2002 ), with no real educational means serving this concern. The good news here is that such emptiness leaves room for practices of pedagogical equality being invented and introduced into the school.

Abstract:
Abstract. The aim of this study is to highlight which contextual elements are more important than physical fitness evaluation in the assessment of the quality of physical education in schools. From this perspective, a brand new instrument was designed to determine students’ perception of their educational development in physical education. The instrument was applied to 174 eight-graders (94 girls, 80 boys) with an average age of 13.8 ± 0.7 years, enrolled in primary schools from different socioeconomic contexts. The results show differences in "Developing active life", "self-development", and "in-class pedagogy", public schools obtaining lower scores than private ones. Differences were also found in the responses of boys and girls, however, they do not allow for clear conclusions. The lowest scores were obtained in "Motor Expression" and "outdoor activities". Despite being essential for an active lifestyle, these activities do not seem to be used within the physical education curriculum. This instrument can represent a valuable means for evaluating school physical education context.

Abstract:
The article covers the key approaches to the formulation of the education system's environmentalization concept against the backdrop of rising environmental awareness and the need to foster better environmental literacy in modern society. In order to achieve this objective, the authors have come up with an integrated indicator of the education system’s environmental sustainability which provides for environmental assessment at various educational levels. The said approach allows ensuring the comprehensive evaluation and avoiding subjectiveness. In addition, it serves as an efficiency indicator of the entire process of educational service provision under present-day conditions. Based on the aforementioned methodology, the Ukrainian education system was evaluated from the standpoint of its compliance with sustainable development requirements. The pain points of the system were identified, particularly, the absence of thoroughness, error in the logical sequence of shaping environmental knowledge, and uneven distribution thereof at different educational levels. The authors presented the measures aimed at increasing the degree of education system environmentalization, namely making environmental matters, including sound management of natural resources, and environmental protection a part of the curriculum; training the teaching staff capable of implementing the concept of continuous environmental and economic education; forming close links between secondary and higher education, and their cooperation with businesses and governmental institutions.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to determine teachers’ educational needs regarding school education projects within the scope of Erasmus+ programme. In the study, the case study method, one of qualitative research designs, was used. The participants were determined using the snowball sampling method, and eight secondary school teachers took part in the study. The research data were collected via semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the inductive analysis method. The results of the analysis revealed that the teachers had certain knowledge about the processes of planning, implementation and evaluation of the projects and that they did not acquire the necessary related skills at all, though. It was also found that the group work process and lack of related knowledge, skills and experience were among the factors making the functioning of the process difficult and that professional development was not fully achieved. All these results demonstrate that teachers are need of an in-service training which focuses more on the steps of the application process and on the integration of the objectives of the process into the curriculum and which aims to help acquire the related skills considering the functioning of the process as a whole.

Competency-based evaluation is a priority in the last legislative frameworks that regulate the educational system in Spain. However, this evaluation procedure has not been satisfactorily resolved in any of these frameworks. In this paper we present a proposal for the integration of competences in the design of learning sequences. This proposal has emerged as a result of an action research process conducted for a couple of years by a team of three researchers, leaded by a technology teacher in mandatory secondary education. The proposal was made in accordance with LOE (the Spanish General Educational Law approved in 2006), but as discussed in the article, it adapts to the proposal made afterwards by LOMCE (the current Spanish General Education Law, approved in 2013) to overcome some of the issues found in the implementation of Competency-based evaluation. The findings of the study show that it is necessary to break down the learning standards defined in LOMCE to facilitate their assessment. Moreover, we have also found that the evaluation of learning should be continuous and differentiated based on observation according to the learning goals.

Abstract:
Nigeria and Malaysia have almost similar historical background; both had sultan as spiritual and government leader in their major areas, colonized by British and got independence in 1960 and 1957 respectively. Presently, Malaysia has recorded human development increments from 1980 to date and aspire to be a developed country in 2020. While Nigeria has recorded poverty increments from 1980 to date and it may likely be among underdeveloped countries in 2020. The purpose of this study was to make judgments about Technical and Vocational Education and training (TVET) systems of Malaysia and Nigeria. The idea was to see what makes Malaysian system successful and how Nigeria addressed its TVET problems. The methodology employed in this paper was analytical method of study that involved evaluation based on critical reading and review of materials which include Nigeria and Malaysia education philosophies, policies, TVET curriculums, employability skills, Malaysian Human Development Index and Nigeria’s Poverty Incidence. Findings revealed that education philosophy and education policy of Malaysia is intellectually, spiritually, emotionally and physically balanced based on firm belief and devotion to God while Nigerian education philosophy and policy are limited to intellectual and physical development. Malaysia TVET curriculum is equipped with employability skills including core skills, generic skills and personal attributes which are likely contributed to Malaysian human development and full employment of TVET graduates. Malaysia has recorded increments in human and economic developments from 1980 to date while Nigeria TVET curriculum has not been integrated with employability skills which are likely contributed to Nigeria’s poverty incidence and high Nigerian unemployment rate across all educational levels including TVET graduates at both secondary and tertiary levels. Nigeria has recorded steady increase of poverty incidence from 1980 to date.

Abstract:
Functional competencies of Head of Department has been paid attention to because for a school in Thailand, the head of each department, is very important. However, the issue is the appointment of a teacher who does not have any prior proper training before. This may cause such a teacher to have incomplete functional competencies. Therefore, it is necessary to develop the functional competencies of the Head of Department. This research focuses on the components of the functional competencies of the Head of Department of secondary schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission. As for this study, from the review on a great number of related literature, it can be granted that functional competencies of the Head of Department of secondary schools under the Office of the Basic Education Commission can be grouped as follows: 1) Intellectual Leadership 2) Quality Management 3) Educational Innovation and Information Technology 4) Professionalism Development 5) Curriculum, Measurement and Evaluation of Learning 6) Learning Organization and 7) Professional Ethic. These seven dimensions are then examined using Confirmatory Factor Analysis, which shows the congruence with the empirical studies.

Abstract:
The article presents an analysis of the decisions of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance on the accreditation of educational programs of the following specialities: 017 Physical Culture and Sports, 014 Secondary Education (Physical Culture, Human Health). Considering the significant differences between the previous accreditation procedure carried out by the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine (until 2019) and the current accreditation procedure carried out by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance the analysis of accreditation cases is particularly relevant. In the course of the research, the analysis of accreditation cases that took place in the period from November 2019 to November 2020 was carried out. It included the assessment of educational programs, curricula, self-assessment documents, reports of the expert groups, conclusions of branch expert council and decisions of the National Agency. Generalized data on the evaluation of educational programs according to individual criteria is presented. The article presents an analysis of the main shortcomings identified in the process of assessing the quality of educational programs at the stage of field accreditation procedure and, at the stage of assessment of the accreditation case by the branch expert council of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance. It is shown that the main reason for the decision of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance on conditional (deferred) accreditation of the educational programs was the presence of significant shortcomings in the structure and content of educational programs, as well as in the processes related to teaching and learning. It was also shown that only half of the educational programs in the field of sports, which passed the accreditation procedure in the period from November 2019 to November 2020 met the requirements for ensuring the quality of the educational process. This indicates that the internal quality assurance systems of Ukrainian higher educational institutions were not ready for the new requirements set by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance.

Abstract:
Abstract The study investigated the influence of Teachers Performance Appraisal (TPA) policy on timeliness in the implementation of the curriculum in Public Secondary Schools in Kenya. The study adopted an Ex post facto design. Additionally, the study population consisted of 5450 teachers, 334 Principals, the TSC-County Director and 334 Deputy Principals of public secondary schools. Stratified random sampling technique was used to select 179 Principals and 179 Deputy Principals. Questionnaires were used to collect data from the Principals and Deputy Principals. Document analysis guide was used to collect data which was not readily obtained through questionnaires. Reliability of the instruments for data collection was tested by assessing the scale’s internal consistency using Crobanch’s alpha and reliability coefficient of at least 0.7 was achieved in all the sub-scales of the questionnaire. Validity was determined by experts in Educational Administration. Quantitative data from questionnaires was analyzed by using inferential statistics, for instance, Linear Regression analysis and Pearson Correlation. The study established that TPA policy had a positive significant influence on; timeliness in curriculum implementation (r=.604, p<.05), curriculum evaluation by teachers (r =.726, p<.05). The TPA was established to be a significant predictor of the timelines in curriculum implementation [F (1, 316) = 181.90, p < .05]. The study recommends that TSC should enforce TPA policy and use it as a tool for promoting and deploying teachers into leadership positions. The study recommends that the Ministry of Education should guide every school to come up with syllabus coverage monitoring tool that can be administered alongside TPA.

Abstract:
OBJECTIVES/SPECIFIC AIMS: The primary goal of the project was to conduct a narrative review of the published literature to identify and summarize best practices for developing oncology-focused research and training experiences for AI/AN undergraduate, graduate and professional students. A secondary goal was to identify methodological limitations and areas for future research related to rigorous educational program evaluation. METHODS/STUDY POPULATION:. Published literature was searched using databases relevant to oncology (PubMed, Web of Science) and sociology (PsychINFO, SocIndex). The bibliographies of identified relevant papers were searched for additional references by title. Search terms included synonyms and commonly used terms for three general areas: (1) target population (e.g., American Indian), (2) training area (e.g., oncology), and (3) educational program (e.g., undergraduate). RESULTS/ANTICIPATED RESULTS:. A current total of 107 original publications and 33 review papers that are relevant to the project goals have been identified. Key areas of program development and implementation relate to advertising and recruitment; didactic curriculum in research methods, cancer health disparities, and professional development and career planning; research immersion experiences through shadowing, networking, application of research skills, and opportunities to develop oral and written communication skills; ongoing career development support; mentoring by faculty, advanced trainees, and peers; and culture-specific enrichment. Important areas for program evaluation relate to measures of reaction, knowledge, practice and long-term outcomes. Evaluation design approaches include observational and experimental designs with recommendations for identifying relevant control groups. Strategies to ensure complete long-term follow-up are also summarized. DISCUSSION/SIGNIFICANCE OF IMPACT:.Successful programs address barriers related to perceived lack of abilities, lack of AI role models, limited culture-specific enrichment, and limited mentoring and ongoing career development support. Program directors should work with local tribal and community leaders when creating a new program. A high degree of coordination is needed to create a bicultural program to interest students in a research career and avoid the creation of barriers hidden to the program director. There are opportunities to improve the rigor of educational program evaluation in this setting by including measures beyond self-reported reaction and knowledge to focus on educational program enrollment and completion and long-term career outcomes. Methodologic challenges include identification of relevant control groups for comparison and the use of experimental designs.

Abstract:
In the present research we evaluated the effectiveness of the Laboratory Centers (L.C.) of the Technical and Vocational Secondary Schools in Athens, Greece in relation to the needs of the labor market, through teachers’ and graduates’ point of views. The research method followed was quantitative and concerned the L.C. that are subject to the Athens Secondary Education Administration. The findings of the research reveal that the curricula that are implemented by the L.C. are effective, as they meet the needs of the labor market, but they also highlight significant problems related to the lack of connection between the Greek L.C. and the local society and labor market as well as problems related to the laboratory infrastructures and to the teachers’ training needs. The originality of the present study lies in the participation of L.C. graduates, who contributed to the revelation of the main obstacles that arise in the relationship between the educational process and the real educational needs.

Abstract:
The methodology of pedagogical actions within the process of moral education of personality is a part of basic, theoretical and empirical researches in pedagogy. When it is referred to moral training, it is primarily referred to the moral aspect of pedagogical actions affecting the development of personality - the formation of moral awareness as a characteristic of a certain individual’s values. Moral education of personality refers to the moral behaviour and action, the formation of attitudes and the development of moral reasonable interests, the introduction to the moral norms and demands, as well as the process of development of a personality’s moral traits. Moral capacity is expressed through the evaluation of moral acts and through moral action while being in accordance with intellectual capability and developmental logic. The educational role of school can be discussed in general or in a more specific way, depending on the extent up to which the school can contribute to the process of moralisation of individuals and the accomplishment of tasks of moral education. Primary and secondary schools in Serbia do not have moral education as a separate subject, but the curriculum sets certain specific tasks which should be accomplished through classes and all extracurricular activities. In accordance with that, this paper focuses on the problematisation of analysing the role of a teacher in moral education and personality development, as well as the analysis of the attitudes of teachers about the necessity of a separate subject or, at least, a “hidden curriculum” in schools which would refer to moral education. The factorisation of measurement variables shows that the awareness of teachers about techniques and methods of moral education and learning should be heightened, which provides a good direction towards a new research. The obtained results have helped us clarify the general problematisation of moral education, and it is believed that they will contribute to overcoming and advancing the existing situation of the school system in Serbia. Key words: curriculum, moral education, methodology of moral training, moral judgement, pedagogical action.

Abstract:
This analysis examines some of the problems that are faced by teachers and students in the teaching and learning of English for special purposes (ESP) in multilingual nations. A survey recently found that although 98 percent knew that English was the sole language of instruction at the institution, only 49 percent expected to study English as a subject in any form as part of their curriculum. Many students looked upon English as a subject of study necessary only to gain entrance into the university, and had little motivation to study it past the secondary level. Other problems faced by teachers and students include the multilingual background of the learners, lack of cooperation from teachers of other subjects, the need to import language materials, poor levels of language teacher training, and large class sizes. An alternative approach to ESP is suggested, one in which the learner's native language and other languages in the learner's environment play a major role in tertiary education. The importation of culturally and educationally irrelevant materials is noted along with the urgent need for teacher training reform.

Abstract:
Textbooks play significant role in teaching and learning continuum. Due to this reason, Curriculum wings and Directorate of staff development (Punjab) have had continuous check and monitoring in devising goals and standards in textbooks from grade 1 to grade 10. But at intermediate level specially in12th grade, the same text book i.e. Good-bye Mr. Chips is being taught more than 20 years. It is assumed that there lies a huge literacy and learning gap between the secondary level English textbooks and intermediate level English textbooks. The present study keeping in view the issues and gaps in mind was an attempt to investigate the importance of English textbooks being taught at intermediate level (Grade 12) in different schools and colleges in Punjab. Prospective study occupies descriptive type of research framework. The textbook of English being taught at intermediate level is evaluated according to specified models and strategies mentioned in previous research studies based upon textbook evaluation. Sample was determined through applying cluster random sampling technique. Questionnaire was designed, validated and administered after conducting pilot phase. The findings of the study reveal that the textbook being taught at intermediate level is not be up to snuff to convene the common objectives of the target language and is irreconcilable with the requirements of promoting confidence and ornamental language skills. Moreover, it is recommended that textbooks must be revised from time to time to obtain definite language learning objectives. The book being evaluated lacks innovation, students’ interest, relevant content and appropriate skills.

Abstract:
Teacher-training programs around the world, and especially in Europe do not specify in detail the capacities that future professionals should acquire, so it brings about a great discussion among educators, researchers and teachers. The main objective of this study is to collect the impressions of future Secondary Education teachers as regards the competences attained during their studies. The self-evaluation of 353 students was carried out using a Likert-scale questionnaire made up by 13 variables gathered into three dimensions namely social competence, academic competence and personal competence. R Software, InfoStats and SPSS v. 25 software were used in order to analyze the data collected. Confirmatory factorial analyses and linear mixed modelling were applied to identify factors affecting the acquisition of competences. The students’ area of knowledge and their employment situation were key factors in the development of academic and social competences, while the personal dimension was affected only by the area of knowledge. These results obviously show that there are some competences whose level of development could be improved, and we have also identified some weaknesses in the development of certain competences. In addition, these data have allowed us to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the initial teacher-training curriculum.
