This article discusses the electrochemical machining (ECM), a noncontact technology that spares both tool and part from machining wear, and the ECM finishes some parts in half the time of conventional mechanical machining techniques. The Sermatech Manufacturing Group, a leading user of ECM, is researching new applications for the technology, which the company uses principally on turbine components and various aircraft parts. In the ECM process, the DC power source charges the workpiece positively and charges the tool negatively. As the machine slowly brings the tool and workpiece close togethe

Imaging studies have shown enlargement of pancreatic parts in children diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. The purpose here is to develop imaging based diagnostic evaluation criterion for acute pancreatitis in children. This study included 62 children of acute pancreatitis in the age range of 0.33 to 13 years, as reported in a single hospital center (1994-2019). A study was planned including 1116 normal healthy children in the age range of 0.16 to 18 years for pancreatic evaluation during 2016-17. The aim of this work was to estimate the temperature and the stress distribution, and the stress direction of the blade in service. The blade was cut into three parts parallel to (001) plane at 8, 40 and 64mm from the tip. These parts were named as the tip, middle and root parts. Furthermore, these three parts were cut into six parts parallel to {100} which were almost normal to the surface from the leading to the trai

Abstract FEA provides more detailed information for design than can be possibly measured on an actual component part or computed using classical closed-form solutions. Based on this observation, FEA is an ideal means for developing concept designs. No parts are needed for FEA, while conceptual design evaluation using “cut and try” procedures of the past requires that component parts be molded for testing. Once a rough concept has been developed, FEA can be used more effectively to evaluate design modifications in less than the time required by “cut-and-try” iterations. The major benefit that i

Radiographic measures between mutual parts of pelvic bone showed a marked increase in Norberg angles and diminishing in Bardens, Barlow, and Ortolani orthopedic tests after operations. The abrasive waterjet machining process was introduced in the 1980s as a new cutting tool; the process has the ability to cut almost any material. Currently, the AWJ process is used in many world-class factories, producing parts for use in daily life. A description of this process and its influencing parameters are first presented in this paper, along with process models for the AWJ tool itself and also for the jet–material interaction. The AWJ material removal process occurs through the high-velocity impact of abrasive particles, whose tips micromachine the material at the microscopic scale,
