Abstract:
Internet embeds both conventional mass media and its own cybermedia with a social network that introduces a new communication process based on interactivity, new ways of relating users, different technical and communicative mediations, a new information outlook and changes in the narrative and expressive models together with an expansion of the possibilities of navigation and hypertextuality, creating synergies between the cyberpress, cyberradio, cybertelevision and the social network within a new space-time globality. This article –drawn from research work in these fields– analyses the changes that have affected the cybermedia in their different variations, and systematizes these phenomena in order to provide new dimensions for the theoretical construction of the emerging interactive model of communication.

Abstract:
This paper analyzes changes in the training of college students within the implementation of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) with particular emphasis on teaching of future communication professionals. I focus on two cyberjournals, launched at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. During five academic courses a total of 2.349 students have participated in this project, with retention rates above 96 percent. In the period studied, the cyberjournals have generated 1.526 multimedia in-depth reports giving rise to more than 16.756 comments from media readers. Additionally, there have been 2.828 videos, now all online on the cyberjournals YouTube channel, which have received more than 400,000 views. This analysis concludes that there has been a real increase in teaching hours above the notion of ECTS credit, and that this situation is accepted by students without problem. On the other hand, based on the descriptive method used, it is shown that students accept and participate in the formation of journalistic projects in the digital environment that comply with the general regulations of the EHEA, and in the particular guidelines that each University can develop.

Abstract:
Interactivity is a factor on which cyber journalism is based and summarizes participation options between a user and the medium, a user with other users, and a user with editors. In this study, we focus on the latter in three countries—Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador—, which have been identified owing to their technological gap and the emerging importance of online communication for their respective societies. Through 35 in-depth interviews with journalists from these countries, we analyzed the concept of interactivity of these professionals and their relationship with users. The results revealed that the journalists positively valued civic contributions as a space for diagnosis, although they do not perceive its informational value, as they relate them to the context of opinions. These results verify the prevalence of journalism as strongly influenced by conventional offline production routines.

Abstract:
It is interesting to look at the Head of Criminal Investigation statement of the Indonesian National Police Commissioner General Ito Sumardi (Kompas, 22/9/2010), which warns that the crime of terrorism is closely related to ideology. Sociologist Van Dijk (1993) states that ideology is basically a mental system that is exchanged, represented both in the level of discourse and action to achieve certain goals or desires in a groups (defi ned as the system of mental representations and processes of group members). Why (technology) Internet so powerful in spreading the message of terrorism? First, the interaction happens on internet can be done anywhere and anytime. Second, Internet users in Indonesia, which is increasingly growing in number, allows access to the site or content to be easily obtained terrorism. Third, Internet medium provides access not only cheap but free. Fourth, the Internet allows anyone to construct new identity. In a fact proves that the identities of individuals in cyber world are individuals who have two possibilities, it could be the same or different identities as in the real world. Furthermore, the individual does not only have one identity per se on the internet, they could have multiple identities as well as different characteristics from each other. In according to Gilmore (1996), those on the Internet nobody knows you at all, not either knows your race or your sex. This is the opportunities that could be used by the perpetrators of terrorism to spread the ideology of terrorism and violence in the name of religion without worried their identity will be revealed. Key words: cybermedia, virtual terorism, internet, identity.

Abstract:
The purpose of this study was to examine the reliability of posturography using a newly developed automatic balance calibration system (I Balance S (CyberMedic Co., Korea)). Twenty-three patients who volunteered participated in this study. Mean center of gravity (COG) sway velocity, total distance, maximum velocity (MV), average movement degree (AMD), maximum excursion (ME) and directional control (DC) were measured by I Balance S. Overall stability index and overall directional control score were measured by Biodex Balance System (Biodex Medical Systems Inc., New York, USA). For the accurate measurement, the COG was automatically calibrated to zero before each measurement by I Balance S. Each subject was tested twice by examiner A and once by examiner B. The intraclass correlation coefficients (ICC) were calculated to assess the inter-rater and intra-rater reliability. Inter-rater reliabilities were higher with the I Balance S (ICC, 0.80-0.91) than with the Biodex Balance System (ICC, 0.71-0.82). Intra-rater reliabilities were similar between the I Balance S (ICC, 0.88-0.94) and the Biodex Balance System SD (ICC, 0.90-0.91). I Balance S using an automatic balance calibration system is a reliable posturography method for performing balance assessments.

Abstract:
Collaborative Virtual Environments (CVEs) are Virtual Reality (VR) systems and can simulate medical procedures such as surgeries performed by a group of remote users which can interact with one another through the simulation in real-time, with the aid of a network such as the Internet. Therefore, it is important to note that research on CVE-specific networking issues allows us to better understand the requirements for real-time applications. This paper discloses design and implementation issues of a peer-to-peer multicast architecture on the collaborative module of theCyberMed VR framework, aiming at providing better network scalability, as well as it shows as results, some developed applications as validation. Finally, we compared the performance of the newly implemented peer-to-peer multicast architecture with the peer-to-peer unicast previously existent with simulated models designed with OPNET Network Modeler and R statistical software. As result of our experiments, the null hypothesis was rejected (p = 2.2e-16, level of significance = 5%) confirming what we expected about the behavior of CyberMed’s multicast protocol.

Abstract:
The use of visual communication documents is one of the data collection techniques, in addition to interviews and observations, in a research method conducted by a researcher. In visual communication documents, there is a type of book cover containing information that a researcher can obtain and analyze. Before the existence of internet-sourced technology, people only communicated physically or face-to-face so that the visual communication document for the book cover obtained by a researcher was also physical. Community communication methods are now changing, using internet-sourced technology that provides visual communication services based on social media applications, such as Whatsapp, Facebook, and Tokopedia. Changing community communication methods affect the form of book cover visual communication documents in qualitative research, initially physically now transforming into digital. Through Whatsapp, Facebook, and Tokopedia, a researcher collected data on visual communication documents on digital book covers. The research method in this paper uses a mixed research method, first, conventional ethnography and, second, virtual ethnography as a way of investigation through observation and examination of physical and digital book cover visual communication documents on the object of research in order to obtain the necessary data. Based on the analysis, there is one old phenomenon, namely (1) visual communication documents on physical book covers; and there are two new phenomena, namely (1) physical book cover visual communication documents which are documented by means of digital copies and (2) digital book cover visual communication documents. There is another phenomenon, namely the transformation of the digital book cover visual communication document affecting the character of the research subject, the procedures and processes in data collection techniques, and changing and adding to the theoretical repertoire of qualitative research methods. Keywords: digital transformation, data collection technique.AbstrakPada dokumen komunikasi visual terdapat jenis sampul buku berisi informasi yang bisa diperoleh dan dianalisis seorang peneliti. Abstract:
This study proposes a method for measuring the volumetric change of alveolar bone after dental implant surgery using computed tomography (CT). A total of 40 implants in 20 patients (15 males and 5 females) were selected. The types of implants used were group 1: 24 CMI IS-II Active implants (Neobiotech Co., Seoul, Republic of Korea) and group 2: 16 SLActive Bone Level implants (Institut Straumann AG, Basel, Switzerland). The OnDemand3D software (CyberMed, Seoul, Korea) was used for analysis. The volumetric change of the alveolar bone around an implant fixture is measured as follows: (1) Establish two cylinders: the main cylinder with the implant axis as the central axis (radius of implant + 3 mm) and the error correction cylinder (radius of implant + 1 mm). (2) The height of the cylinder extended from the top of the fixture to a 3 mm coronal portion. (3) Calculate the volumetric change of the alveolar bone (Vd) by subtracting the volume of the error correction cylinder from the main cylinder between CT images taken immediately after the implant placement and 12 months later. After a one-year installation, the volumetric change of alveolar bone, ΔV (cc) had increased in both groups (group 1: −0.011 ± 0.015 cc, group 2: −0.012 ± 0.017 cc) with statistical significance (p < 0.05), and the difference between the groups was not statistically significant (p > 0.05). This three-dimensional assessment method would be a useful clinical reference for the assessment of marginal bone change after implant surgery.

Abstract:
ABSTRACT Objective: To examine whether there is a relationship between maxillary canine impaction and the morphologic characteristics of the maxillary dentition, especially the root of the lateral incisor. Materials and Methods: In this study, we selected only patients with unilateral maxillary canine impaction to compare the morphologic characteristics of the dentition on the impaction side and the clinically normal eruption side. The sample size was decided to be 40 based on the pilot study. To minimize bias depending on sex and location of the maxillary canine impaction, we selected equal numbers (20) of boys and girls, and equal cases (20) of buccal impaction and palatal impaction. Under the aforementioned conditions, the mean age was 13.5 ± 2.3 years. The multislice spiral computed tomography images of these 40 subjects were converted into three-dimensional (3D) reconstructed images using the OnDemand 3D program (Cybermed Co, Seoul, Korea). Then we measured the morphologic characteristics of the individual teeth on the obtained 3D teeth images. Results: Length and volume of the maxillary lateral incisor's roots were significantly smaller on the impaction side compared with the normal eruption side (P = 0.001 and P = 0.006, respectively). The width and volume of the canine's crown were significantly greater on the impaction side compared with the normal eruption side (P = 0.020 and P < .0001, respectively). Conclusion: These results might help to prove the hypothesis that the smaller-sized lateral incisor roots and greater-sized canine crowns are the influential etiologic factors in maxillary canine impaction.

Kim, Jaeyoung, and Jonathan Day. "Establishing a New Bony Landmark for Safe Screw Insertion in Medial Displacement Calcaneal Osteotomy: A Simulation-Based Approach." Foot & Ankle Orthopaedics 5, no. 4 (October 1, 2020): 2473011420S0029. http://dx.doi.org/10.1177/2473011420s00290.

Abstract:
Category: Hindfoot; Other Introduction/Purpose: Medial displacement calcaneal osteotomy (MDCO) is a commonly performed procedure in flatfoot reconstruction. Fixation is often achieved with screws due to its ability to compress across the osteotomy site. Screws are placed via a free-handed technique without direct fluoroscopic visualization, due to difficulty attaining a simultaneous axial calcaneal view. In addition, the posterior calcaneal tuber translates medially after displacement, resulting in altered anatomical geometry. It is therefore important to establish a reliable external bony landmark when performing free-handed interfragmentary fixation in order to avoid potential screw-related complications and to provide better surgical technique and fixation. The purposes of this study are to validate a new external bony landmark and to establish the appropriate trajectory and screw length for free-hand screw fixation in MDCO. Methods: A total of 84 postoperative computed tomography (CT) scans of MDCO in 70 patients were analyzed. The images were reconstructed using a 3-dimensional simulation program (Vworks 4.0, Cybermed). Virtual screw insertion was simulated by aiming towards two bony landmarks: the base of the 5th metatarsal in the axial plane, and the sinus tarsi in the sagittal plane (Figure 1). A grading system was also utilized to classify scenarios in which the screw breached the distal cortical wall: Grade 1 was defined as contact between the virtual screw and the cortex, Grade 2 as the screw approaching the outer margin of the cortex, and Grade 3 as the screw penetrating the outer cortex. The trajectory angle between the screw and the osteotomy, as well as the screw size, were also measured. Results: The average age of patients was 24.5 (range, 19 to 53), and 100% were males. The average displacement of the posterior calcaneal fragment was 7.3+-1.5 mm (range, 3.9 to 13.8). Among the 84 virtual screws, only five (6.0%) breached the medial cortical wall of the osteotomized calcaneus. All medial breaches were Grade 1. None of the virtual screws breached the lateral cortical wall. Mean trajectory angle between the virtual screw and the osteotomy site was 74.9+-6.7˚ (range, 60.0 to 89.8˚). In the perioperative data, estimated maximum screw length by simulation was 55.6+-4.4 mm (range, 50 to 65). Conclusion: Our results suggest that the optimal trajectory of free-handed screw placement can be determined through simulation of calcaneal interfragmentary screw insertion using postoperative CT imaging. Using this simulation technology, we determined a trajectory towards the sinus tarsi on the sagittal plane and the base of the 5th metatarsal on the axial plane to be a reliable external bony landmark for placement of screws in MDCO. These promising results have potential implications in achieving better fixation as well as improving union rates and operative outcomes.

Abstract:
This article investigates the economy of monolingual media systems in nine European minority language communities during 2009–2015, a period of strong economic crisis and accelerated digitalization. The main areas of study are three: The economic volume or weight of those media systems and its variation between 2009 and 2015; the current funding structure of the four media types (press, radio, TV and cybermedia); and the qualitative evaluation of media editors and managers on the effect of those two crises as well as the significance of the public aid. The nine European minority languages are Basque, Welsh, Galician, Irish, Breton, Frisian, Sámi, Corsican and Scottish-Gaelic. As for the findings, it can be highlighted that the economic volume or revenue of European minority language media is close to five hundred million euros per year, of which over ninety per cent is public funding, mostly devoted to broadcasting media. The conclusion set forth is that public funding should not be framed as aid but as a social, cultural and economic investment.

Abstract:
High technology has been one of the main assets used by the media around the world to stand out from the masses and reach an increasingly fragmented audience, including drone journalism, artificial intelligence, and virtual reality. In this regard, the mid-2010s saw a whole phase of experimentation that began with so-called immersive journalism, a new way of producing news content using virtual reality and 360° video, which introduced various novelties in the way stories are both told and consumed/watched. Among these, 360° real-image videos are the most common form, which can be partly explained by factors such as time and cost, although it is also possible to find completely computer-generated (CG) nonfiction experiences. Legacy media such as The New York Times, El País, or the BBC have been experimenting with the possibilities of this immersive storytelling, but what about digital native media? The aim of this paper is to explore the use of 360° video by Spanish digital native media in order to observe the degree of development of immersive storytelling, as well as the quality of the pieces available more than 5 years after the start of this phenomenon known as immersive journalism. For this purpose, a content analysis of 360° videos published during the period 2015-2019 by El español, eldiario.es, El independiente, and El HuffPost has been carried out. The study of these particular cases reveals the absence of a narrative strategy aligned with the immersive format; in general, these are simple videos that provide little added value compared with the conventional format. Furthermore, the results show that the history of immersive journalism by these cybermedia has been limited in terms of both volume and time, with little guarantee that it will continue into the future.
