Abstract:
Reaction mechanisms during the growth of multinary compounds by atomic layer deposition can be complex, especially for sulfide materials. For instance, the deposition of copper indium disulfide (CuInS2) shows a non-direct correlation between the cycle ratio, the growth per cycle of each binary growth cycles, i.e., CuxS and In2S3, and the film composition. This evidences side reactions that compete with the direct Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) growth reactions and makes the deposition of large films very challenging. To develop a robust upscalable recipe, it is essential to understand the chemi

ABSTRACT Many proposed scenarios for black hole (BH) mergers involve a tertiary companion that induces von Zeipel–Lidov–Kozai (ZLK) eccentricity cycles in the inner binary. An attractive feature of such mechanisms is the enhanced merger probability when the octupole-order effects, also known as the eccentric Kozai mechanism, are important. This can be the case when the tertiary is of comparable mass to the binary components. Since the octupole strength [∝(1 − q)/(1 + q)] increases with decreasing binary mass ratio q, such ZLK-induced mergers favour binaries with smaller mass ratios. We use a c

The article offers an analytical description of the nonlinear dynamics of the formation of regular impurity superstructures during the rapid crystallization of binary alloys, supplemented by numerical model calculations. The existence of a stable limit cycle is shown and the spatial profiles of the impurity concentration in a solid product are calculated. It has been established that considering the finiteness of the velocity of jumps of impurity atoms leads to a very significant decrease in the size of the cycles and a change in the profiles of the impurity superstructures.

The question of constants in the short prose of F. Sologub is considered. Special attention is paid to the iconic cycle of stories in the work of the author. The results of the analysis of motives, chronotope, recurring elements of the plot and the system of characters in the cycles “The Sting of Death” and “Unkind Lady” are presented. It is shown with the help of comparative and intertextual methods that in the stories of the cycles the constant binary opposition of a meaningless, cruel life and a consoling death is embodied, the hero’s dreams of death determine the meaninglessness of being.

Tristable memristic switching provides the capability for multi-bit data storage. In this study, all-inorganic multi-bit memory devices were successfully manufactured by the attachment of graphene quantum dots (GQDs) onto graphene oxide (GO) through a solution-processable method. By means of doping GQDs as charge-trapping centers, the device indium-tin oxide (ITO)/GO:0.5 wt%GQDs/Ni revealed controllable memristic switching behaviors that were tunable from binary to ternary, and remarkably enhanced in contrast with ITO/GO/Ni. It was found that the device has an excellent performance in memristi

ABSTRACT We propose a compact binary model with an eccentric orbit to explain periodically active fast radio burst (FRB) sources, where the system consists of a neutron star (NS) with strong dipolar magnetic fields and a magnetic white dwarf (WD). In our model, the WD fills its Roche lobe at periastron, and mass transfer occurs from the WD to the NS around this point. The accreted material may be fragmented into a number of parts, which arrive at the NS at different times. The fragmented magnetized material may trigger magnetic reconnection near the NS surface. Indonesia posses 40% of the world's geothermal energy sources. The existence of hydrothermal sources is usually characterized by their surface manifestations such as hot springs, geysers and fumarole. Hot spring has a potential to be used as a heat source to generate electricity especially in a rural and isolated area. Hot springs can be converted into electricity by binary thermodynamic cycles such as Kalina cycle and ORC. The aim of this study is to obtain the best performances of cycle configuration and the potential power capacity. Simulation is conducted using UNISIM software with working
