Abstract:
Over the last two decades, the digital era and the fourth digital revolution have led to a rapid increase in the influence that digital technologies have on all aspects of life. Rapid development and diffusion of technological innovations altered the business environment, additionally accelerating the dynamics of market changes through permeating globalisation and ever stronger competition. In such digital ecosystem, product life cycles became extremely short, while consumers became more demanding and their behaviour more volatile. Compelled by such business reality, organisations are forced to continuously adapt and digitally transform their business. The aim of this paper is to identify and systemise critical success factors of attaining purposeful digital transformation by means of a literature review. The paper details the results of the conducted theoretical research, which may serve organisations as guidelines on their challenging paths to digital transformation and assist them in avoiding potential traps and mitigating risks associated with inadequate application of digital technology.

This paper reviews the latest and major research on vapor refrigerant injection techniques. Various vapor refrigerant injection techniques are discussed and compared. Compared to the basic vapor injection (VI) cycle, double-expansion VI cycle, accumulator-VI cycle and the VI cycle in a cascade system are briefly explained. Studies about these various VI cycles do not only prove the performance of VI cycles, but also show variations of VI cycles. Discussions about the fundamental issues of the VI cycle are also presented.

Abstract:
This article compares reflections from four sources on the state of the American democracy in the international community (The Rise and Fall of the Great Powers: Economic Change and Military Conflict from 1500 to 2000, by Paul Kennedy; 1999: Victory Without War, by Richard Nixon; “Communism at Bay,”The Economist; Long Cycles in World Politics, by George Modelski) within the framework of the 1980s, which was portrayed by leaders as “an era of good feelings.” Yet drastically different positions on American rise or decline are propounded by historians and officeholders, former presidents and scholars, journalists and aspiring candidates for political office. These four writings reveal the complexity of the analysis of the American decline. Yet, it is crucial for leaders to maintain public devotion to their nation, not through passion, but rather, in the words of Abraham Lincoln, through “the solid quarry of sober reason,”. America's capacity to preserve a strong and healthy resilience, the author concludes, is the exceptional value it continues to offer the world.

Abstract:
The Water Alternating Gas (WAG) process is a cyclic method of injecting alternating cycles of gas followed by water and repeating this process over a number of cycles. WAG injection is to improve oil recovery, by both increasing the macroscopic and microscopic sweep efficiency and to help maintain the reservoir pressure. Also, WAG injection is to postpone the gas breakthrough. The WAG process provides mobility control in fast zones which extends gas project life and oil recovery.
This paper provided a comprehensive literature study about WAG injection. This paper has collected most of the requirements of the petroleum engineers that has to know about the WAG injection started from basic concepts until the design parameter for WAG injection.

Abstract:
On the occasion of the millennium it seems appropriate to reflect yet once more on the subject of the canon, if only to set the canon debate of the 1980s in relation to the longue durée of Western writing. There is a lesson in the fact that the turn of the millennium evoked a pervasive sense of anticlimax. History follows another and more elusive rhythm than the cycles of the calendar or the expectations of short-lived human beings. In retrospect, the debates of the 1980s greatly overestimated the stakes and possible consequences of “opening the canon,” not because there were no stakes or consequences, but because the concept of the canon belonged to the order of a mythical time, the order of millennial expectations. If it was never true that the canon was irrevocably closed to the revision and reordering of its supposed monuments, this is not to say that the tendency of verbal artifacts to solidify into monuments does not need to be resisted and that the struggle to prevent the schools from becoming the agents of this monumentalization must sometimes take the form of mythical antagonism.

Abstract:
Adopting DevOps means increased collaboration between development and operations teams and faster release cycles through a shift to automation. Using Dev Ops brings with it several advantages in the development of software. Security, however, is often neglected in DevOps due to the fast release cycle. Therefore Dev Sec Ops has emerged as an extension to DevOps that attempts to integrate security with Dev Ops practices, which is not without its challenges. DevOps, and by extension Dev Sec Ops, represents a significant change in the culture, tooling, and processes used in software development. Therefore, when implementing DevSecOps, teams and their organizations need to be aware of the challenges it brings and how to address those challenges for a DevSecOps implementation to be effective. Literature on DevSecOps exists that outlines practices and principles to do this. This paper uses a grounded theory approach to do a systematic literature review of academic literature to find the factors that contribute to an effective DevSecOps implementation. It attempts to reconcile the challenges of DevSecOps with ways of mitigating them and the advantages that a DevSecOps implementation can bring. The paper thus outlines methods of effectively implementing DevSecOps as described in academic literature.

Abstract:
Both acute and chronic neurotoxicities are well-described with the use of oxaliplatin. We describe the case of a 50-year-old man with Dukes C colon carcinoma being treated with an adjuvant FOLFOX4 (5-fluorouracil, leucovorin and oxaliplatin (85 mg/m2 per cycle)) who developed a widespread acute pain 5 min after commencing his twelfth cycle of chemotherapy. The pain was disabling and distressing, and remained for 16 h despite multimodality analgesia. The patient was not rechallenged with oxaliplatin. We believe this presentation represents an acute neurological phenomenon relating to oxaliplatin. Of note, this acute reaction occurred after 11 cycles of treatment, significantly later in the treatment course than other reports of atypical acute reactions.

Abstract:
Immunoglobulin A nephropathy (lgAN) is a common primary glomerulonephritis, but paraneoplastic IgAN has been rarely reported. This current case report describes a 49-year-old male patient that was referred with proteinuria, oedema and hypoproteinaemia after lung cancer surgery and before the first cycle of chemotherapy. Renal biopsy confirmed lgAN. The patient received four cycles of chemotherapy (first cycle: pemetrexed + nedaplatin; second to fourth cycle: pemetrexed + carboplatin). The symptoms of IgAN were gradually relieved with additional cycles of chemotherapy. At the latest follow-up on 10 February 2020, there was no evidence of lung cancer recurrence and all symptoms of lgAN had disappeared. lgAN combined with lung adenocarcinoma is quite rare, which suggests that IgAN might be a paraneoplastic manifestation of lung adenocarcinoma.

Abstract:
Purpose – The paper aims to discuss the major and auxiliary types of cycles found in the literature. Design/methodology/approach – The existence of cycles within economy and its sub-sectors has been studied for a number of years. In the wake of the recent cyclical downturn, interest in cycles has increased. To mitigate future risks, scholars and investors seek new insights for a better understanding of the cyclical phenomenon. The paper presents systematic review of the existing copious cyclical literature. It then discusses general characteristics and the key forces that produce these cycles. Findings – The study finds four major and eight auxiliary cycles. It suggests that each cycle has its own distinct empirical periodicity and theoretical underpinnings. The longer the cycles are the greater controversy which surrounds them. Practical implications – Cycles are monumental to a proper understanding of complex property market dynamics. Their existence implies that economies, whilst not deterministic, have a rhythm. Cyclical awareness can therefore advance property market participants. Originality/value – The paper uncovers four major and eight auxiliary types of cycles and argues their importance.

Abstract:
Purpose of the study: The business cycle always occur in banking activities. For that reason, banks often prepare a turnaround strategy to keep banking growing during changes of business cycles during which often happen during changes in the economic situation or changes in the regulation of a country. This article reviews study on banking turnaround strategy (in conventional and Islamic banks) regarding to the model turnaround strategy by Schoenberg, Collier, and Bowman (2013) from January 1990 to December 2017, in order to identify the current state of study and research gap. The publications were classified into process-orientated strategies and content-orientated strategies. The process-orientated strategies were divided into cost efficiencies, asset retrenchment, focus on core activities and build the activities. Meanwhile, the content-orientated strategies were classified into the changes of organisational structure and culture change.
Methodology: This paper focuses on peer-reviewed Economy journal, excluding book and book chapters. The keywords included ‘turnaround strategy in banking’ and ‘business cycle’. Articles were only selected if they directly addressed into turnaround banking and the business cycle. The sample was generated by applying a keyword search on Mendeley database.
Main Findings: There were 122 out of 250 in the sample analysed on the banking turnaround strategy. The majority of studies were concerned with the process-oriented strategies (such as the focus on core activities and build of the activities).
Applications of this study: This study can be useful for strategic management of banking
Novelty/Originality of this study: The implementation of turnaround model strategy by Schoenberg, Collier, and Bowman (2013) as the management strategies during the recovery process in banking.

Abstract:
The paper presents a literature review regarding defrosting methods for household refrigeration and heat pumps. The literature review covers the period between 2008 and 2020. A number of 61 papers have been studied. The literature review was conducted by dividing the defrost methods into passive and active. Passive methods involve surface coating and off-cycle. The active defrost methods involve reverse cycle, ultrasonic vibration, hot–gas defrost, electric heating and hot fluid. Surface coating and ultrasonic vibration are recent defrost methods proposed in the literature. Also, recently, phase change materials have been used in household refrigerators to improve their efficiency. This is a topic that needs further investigation and is a subject of interest as it can lead to lower energy consumption during defrost cycles. From the present study, the research direction regarding the use of PCMs in defrost cycles can be highlighted.

This paper distinguishes two kinds of endogenous business cycle models: EBC1 models, which display dynamic indeterminacy, and EBC2 models, which display steady-state indeterminacy. Both strands of the literature have their origins in the sunspot literature that developed at the University of Pennsylvania in the 1980s. I argue that EBC1 models are part of the evolution of modern macroeconomics that has classical roots dating back to the 1920s. EBC2 models provide a microfoundation for one of the most important ideas to emerge from Keynes's (1936)General Theory of Employment, Interest and Money: that high involuntary unemployment can persist as part of the steady-state equilibrium of a market economy.

Abstract:
In a model where banks face a capital sufficiency requirement, we demonstrate that news about a fall in the expected return on a portfolio of international long bonds held by a bank leads to an immediate and persistent fall in economic activity. Even if the news never materializes, economic activity falls below steady state for several periods, followed by a recovery. The portfolio adjustment induced by the capital sufficiency requirements leads to a rise in loan rates and tighter credit conditions, which trigger the fall in activity. We contribute to the news-shock literature by showing that imperfect signals about future financial returns can create business cycles without relying on the usual suspects—shocks to technology, preferences, or fiscal policy—and to the emerging economy business cycle literature in that disturbances in world financial markets can cause domestic business cycles without shocks to the world interest rate or to country spreads.

Abstract:
The article examines polytextual complexes integrated by certain geosocial localization. The aim is to establish theoretical grounds for highlighting and studying these complexes from the standpoint of literary studies. The description and systematization of philological studies in the field of such polytextual complexes as topos texts, or supertexts, allows us to trace the tendency towards a structuralist understanding of the phenomenon on the one hand and a mythopoetic interpretation on the other. Topos texts related by their intertextual and semantic connections are considered as palimpsest semiotic formations, in which individual texts are connected by paradigmatic links with a particular complex of archetypal motifs. The essay seeks to propose a more accurate terminology as a result of the mentioned analysis. It proposes distinguishing intertextual complexes from thematic unities, cycles, and cycloid ensembles relying on the mythopoetic nature of these complexes. Finally, the article gives a definition to the term “megatext” that it introduces.

Few studies regarding the normal estrous cycle of rats exist in the literature. Only the estrous and diestrous portions of the cycle have been studied in any detail in the spontaneous cycle of the rat. Ultrastructural studies of proestrous have been limited to artificially induced cycles. These artificially induced cycles have been unable to account for all the findings on vaginal smears seen in spontaneous cycles. In this study, vaginal smear findings were correlated to surface ultrastructural findings in the four main phases of spontaneous ovulatory cycles in rats.Adult female rats of the Sprague-Dawely strain were used and sacrificed during different phases of their cycles. Daily vaginal smears (8-11 a.m.) of at least two consecutive cycles were used to determine the phase of the normal estrous cycle for each rat.

Abstract:
This paper considers the nature of the dominant corporate paradigm, its change, failures or successes, and its relationship with the homeostatic organization. There is a popular way of understanding the dynamics of organizational change and that is through the pre-configured sequence of stages in a corporate life-cycle. Through there are a number of competing models for this kind of analysis. In all of them, the sequence of stages is defined by that which configures the life-cycle deterministically. However, there is little discussion given for how these models of organizations shift between stages, and none appear to dominate in the literature. A major criticism of these models is that they do not represent complex organizational processes of change. Therefore, this paper represents an alternative model, called “the paradigm life-cycle”, which is connected to the homeostatic processes that maintain an organization, and which is, in principle, capable of generating corporate life-cycles under conditions of complexity.

Therapy related acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) have been classically linked to alkylating agents and topoisomerase inhibitors. They constitute about 1% of all AMLs. There is less evidence on association of taxanes (paclitaxel and docetaxel) with these myeloid neoplasms. We present a case of paclitaxel therapy related acute myelogenous leukemia after treatment of endometrial cancer with a regimen containing paclitaxel and carboplatin. A 63-year-old female underwent surgery followed by a total of 6 cycles of chemotherapy with carboplatin and paclitaxel. Six months after last cycle of chemotherapy, she was diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome with refractory anemia and excess blasts. Six weeks later, she had worsening anemia and thrombocytopenia which prompted a bone marrow biopsy which revealed acute myelomonocytic leukemia. A thorough literature review revealed 12 other case reports where taxanes have been implicated in the development of therapy related myeloid neoplasm. Based on the timeline of events in our patient, paclitaxel is the likely culprit in the pathogenesis of this myeloid neoplasm. This rare but significantly grave adverse effect should be kept in consideration when deciding on treatment options for gynecological malignancies.

Abstract:
The death of a pet—or, as some prefer to call it, a companion animal—is a frequent subject in death-related literature for children. Pets are important to children for many reasons; for example, they serve as friends, playmates, and sources of unconditional love. In addition, pets help teach children about the responsibilities that are involved in caring for another living creature. Also, because the life cycles of most animals that become pets are much shorter than those of the humans who care for them, pets often teach children important lessons about loss, death, grief, and coping. For all of these reasons, when I began writing about death-related literature for children my attention was soon drawn to books within that general category that told stories about the death of a pet. In this article, my purpose is to describe and examine a selected sample of 20 books for children whose principal subject or story line is concerned with pet loss. Full bibliographical information for each of these books appears in the list of “Children's Literature” at the end of this article.

Abstract:
Pulmonary blastoma (PB) is a very rare malignant lung tumor consisting of classic biphasic PB, well-differentiated fetal adenocarcinoma, and pleuropulmonary blastoma. We herein present an unusual case involving a patient with classic biphasic PB who underwent right upper lobe resection and subsequent treatment. No standard treatment guidelines are available for PB because of its rarity. Our patient received nedaplatin plus paclitaxel as adjuvant chemotherapy. After disease recurrence, the patient received two cycles of etoposide-cisplatin and six cycles of pemetrexed, bevacizumab, and carboplatin. Because of severe adverse effects of the chemotherapy, the patient was finally administered anlotinib, a new oral multikinase inhibitor. Both the tumor size and the serum tumor marker concentration decreased. In conclusion, surgical excision is the treatment of choice for PB. Chemotherapy in the present case resulted in PB activity that was consistent with the literature. Targeted therapies including antiangiogenic agents should be considered as a new treatment option for this rare disease.

Abstract:
Gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) is an uncommon group of pregnancy-related malignancies. Delayed diagnosis is a prognostic factor for worse outcome. GTN is even harder to diagnose if the site of metastasis is uncommon. The reported case is a 27-year-old G2P1A1 woman who presented to our center with acute transient generalized tonic-clonic seizure. She had developed hemoptysis for the 2 preceding weeks, which had been treated as pneumonia. She had then noticed multiple gum lesions and vaginal spotting 1 week before her presentation. Her serum β-human chorionic gonadotropin level was 77,474 IU/L without evidence of pregnancy. She was diagnosed with GTN with lung, brain, and gum metastases. The patient was staged as IV with a World Health Organization prognostic score of 14. Etoposide, methotrexate, actinomycin D alternating with cyclophosphamide, and vincristine weekly (EMACO) were given. The gum lesions disappeared after 2 cycles of the multiagent chemotherapy, and complete remission was achieved after 8 cycles. This case study will increase awareness of uncommon metastatic sites of GTN. Any associated vaginal bleeding should be considered a clue to metastatic GTN.

Abstract:
AbstractObjectiveThe objective of this study was to evaluate the clinicopathological features and treatment of composite lymphoma (CL) with cervical lymph node enlargement.MethodsIn this study, two cases of CL are presented. Biopsies of enlarged cervical lymph nodes by excision revealed two distinct types of lymphomas. The diagnoses were confirmed by routine histopathology, immunohistochemistry, in situ hybridization, polymerase chain reactions and flow cytometry. Case 1 was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and cytotoxic T-cell lymphoma complicated by Epstein–Barr virus infection. Case 2 was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma.ResultsCase 1 received one cycle of adriamycin, bleomycin, vincristine and dacarbazine (ABVD regimen) combined with chidamide, followed by one cycle of gemcitabine and dexamethasone (GDP regimen) combined with chidamide, and then oral acyclovir. The patient achieved stable disease, but was lost to follow-up. Case 2 received eight cycles of cyclophosphamide, pirarubicin, vincristine and dexamethasone (CTOP regimen) combined with chidamide, and the patient achieved complete remission. Nine months later, relapse was confirmed. She received chidamide monotherapy for 3 months, which was then terminated. One year later, the patient underwent progressive disease and died.ConclusionsCL is a kind of rare disease. Due to the complexity of CL, clinicians should consider both disease components in order to increase the likelihood of effective treatment. This is important.

Abstract:
This paper presents the findings from a systematic literature review on the quality of massive open online courses (MOOCs). The main research question was “How can the quality criteria for MOOCs identified in the analysed studies from the systematic literature review be best organised in a categorisation scheme?” The systematic literature review was conducted using the PRISMA procedures. After conducting the screening and eligibility analysis according the pre-defined criteria, 103 studies were finally selected. The analysis was done in iterative cycles for continuous improvements of the assignments and clustering of the quality criteria. The final version was validated in consensus through the categorisation and assignment of all 103 studies in a consistent way to four dimensions (pedagogical, organisational, technological, and social) and their sub-categories. This quality framework can be re-used in future MOOC research and the discussion of the analysed studies provides a current literature overview on the quality of MOOCs.

Abstract:
The article analyses the group of writers «Ziewonia», in the work and activities of which Slavophile ideas have strengthened through cycles of translations, songs and dumas. It reveals interest in the culture of the Slavic people in the 30s of the 19th century. It analyses the idea of national identity and ethnic culture using a differentiated approach to the phe- nomena of literary folklore, which becomes the main motive of «Ziewonia». The level of Ziewonia’s comprehension in Polish science is not significant yet but still to be more learned than in Ukrai- nian science. The article is said about the first period of the XIX century which is characterized by emergence of artistic achievements as exemplified by the interaction of intercultural literature. The Romantic era encouraged the first contact and special activity of folk Ukrainians interested by young Polish writers who are called in the Polish history of literature «Ziewonia». The main representatives were Augustin Bielovsky (the critic and translator, the employee of the Ossolineum institution), Josef and Alexander (Leshek) Dunin-Borkovsky (writers and critics), Lucian Semensky (the poet and novel- ist), Kazimiezh Vladislav Wojcicky (collector of folk songs) and Ludvik Jablonsky (also the critic of Ukrainian literature), finally the Ukrainian writers called the «Russian Trinity», the organization which united enthusiastic researchers of Ukrainian folklore. It is found out that main activities of this Slavophil group were translation and popularization of literature merits. They gave exemplary translations of important Slavic works such as: «Krolodworsky Manuscript», «Zielona Gora Manuscript», selected sonnets from «The daughters of Kollar’s fame», the significant number of Serbian folk songs, many Ukrainian poems and «The Tale of Igor’s Campaign». Folk society and folk songs were glorified and stylized. The key findings of the research prove that deep and intensive relationships between different literacy circles (Ukrainian and Polish) collaborated the future mutual writer’s group for the next historical period.

Backes, Jana Gerta, and Marzia Traverso. "Application of Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment in the Construction Sector: A Systematic Literature Review." Processes 9, no. 7 (2021): 1248. http://dx.doi.org/10.3390/pr9071248.

Abstract:
This paper reviews actual sustainability assessments in the construction sector to define whether and how a Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment (LCSA) is applied and interpreted in this sector today. This industry has large shares in global energy (33%), raw material consumption (40%) and solid waste generation (40%). Simultaneously, it drives the economy and provides jobs. The LCSA is a method to identify environmental, social and economic impacts of products/services along their life cycles. The results of this study showed a mismatch between sectoral emissions and the number of LCSA-based impact evaluations. It was found that only 11% of papers reviewed assessed all three sustainability pillars. The economic and especially the social pillars were partly neglected. In Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs), 100% made use of Global Warming Potential (GWP) but only 30% assessed more than five indicators in total. In Life Cycle Costing (LCC), there were a variety of costs assessed. Depreciation and lifetime were mainly neglected. We found that 42% made use of Net Present Value (NPV), while over 50% assessed individual indicators. For the Social Life Cycle Assessment (S-LCA), the focus was on the production stage; even the system boundaries were defined as cradle-to-use and -grave. Future approaches are relevant but there is no need to innovate: a proposal for a LCSA approach is made.

Abstract:
This paper analyzes the possibility of expectations-driven business cycles to emerge in a one-sector real business cycle model if the unique driving force is news about future income tax rates. We find that good news about labor income tax rates cannot generate expectations-driven business cycles, whereas good news about capital income tax rates can. We show that a one-sector real business cycle model enriched with (i) variable capital utilization and (ii) investment adjustment costs and driven solely by news shocks about capital income tax rates is able to generate qualitatively and quantitatively realistic business cycle fluctuations. In contrast to numerous studies in the news-driven business cycle literature, our model maintains separable preferences.

Abstract:
The presence of the internet and the development of technology make information exchange faster so that consumer preferences for products quickly change. This has an impact on increasingly shorter product life cycles. The company needs to improve the efficiency of supply chain performance in order to have competitive competitiveness. Supplier selection is one of the important activities in the purchasing process and has an impact on the design strategy of supply chain design. This research presents a literature review of supplier selection decision making methods for single sourcing and multiple sourcing cases by collecting articles from relevant international journals from 2010 to early 2020 to find research recommendations for supplier selection in the future. From the results of literature studies that have been carried out, it is necessary to develop a decision-making method that combines qualitative and quantitative criteria to select potential suppliers. The process of selecting suppliers that not only ranks but also determines cut-offs to distinguish which are included in the category of potential suppliers and which are not.
