Abstract:
Due to wild habitat destruction, Cypripedium is among the most endangered groups in China. Determining how Cypripedium respond to environmental changes is curial to their conservation. However, less is known about the effect of deforestation on the growth of Cypripedium. In this study, we selected four Cypripedium species in Northeast China, and conducted conservation-based transplantation simulating deforestation to explore the impact of increased light intensity on the growth of Cypripedium. After three years, the maximum net photosynthetic rate was decreased by 15.9%, 11.5%, 13.6% and 5.3% for C. calceolus L., C. guttatum Sw., C. macranthos Sw. and C.×ventricosum Sw., respectively, resulting in poor viability, manifesting as shorter and thinner shoots, and smaller leaves. Unexpectedly, no significant traits shifts were found in the roots across four species, which may be related to the long root lifespan and conservation. Our research confirmed that increased light intensity caused by deforestation would lead to an increase in respirate cost and a decrease in photosynthate accumulation, and consequently the recession of plant growth. Except for habitat loss, individual plant reduction caused by deforestation could be responsible for the population decline of Cypripedium.

Abstract:
Reliable and accurate species identification is essential to establish a strategy for monitoring and manipulation of plant populations for conservation biology. However, identification of nonflowering plants is difficult. Based on recent advances in molecular biological techniques, various molecular identification methodologies have been proposed and applied in plant science, with a focus on medicinally valuable species. Lady’s slipper orchids (Cypripedium) are a representative terrestrial orchid group that includes many endangered species. Of 46 species, 3 (Cypripedium japonicum Thunb., Cypripedium macranthos Sw., and Cypripedium guttatum var. koreanum Nakai) were reported from Korea and categorised as endangered species or at risk of becoming endangered because of the rapidly decreasing population. We generated an accurate molecular identification system for these species using the sequence variation and species-specific SNPs of two plastid loci, rpoC2 and the IGS region between atpF and atpH. We selected the atpF-H region for molecular identification of the Korean Cypripedium and related Taiwan-endemic taxon Cypripedium formosanum Hayata. Cypripedium guttatum var. koreanum contained large deletions of over 300 bp, and could be distinguished by electrophoresis. For the other three species, we designed new primers based on a specific insertion (C. macranthos) and SNPs (C. japonicum and C. formosanum). We confirmed that molecular identification enables detection of each species using species-specific primers.

Abstract:
Many species of Orchidaceae Juss. are known as beautifully flowering plants, having medicinal, food, decorative, and other qualities. All this draws attention to orchids and promotes their extermination. The expansion of the tourism and recreational development of the Altai Republic and the economic activity of the population aggravate the processes of reduction of rare species of the Orchidaceae Juss. In this sense, the search for new orchid locations is relevant. The purpose of this work is to supplement the database on habitats of rare orchid species in the Altai Republic. Five new habitats of three orchid species were established in the northeast Altai in the basin of the upper Biya River.&nbsp;<em>Cypripedium guttatum&nbsp;</em>Sw.&nbsp;<em>Cypripedium macranthon&nbsp;</em>Sw., and&nbsp;<em>Dactylorhiza fuchsii&nbsp;</em>(Druce) Soo (<em>Orchis fuchsii&nbsp;</em>(Druce), information that is missing in the third edition of the Altai Republic Regional Red Book. Two orchid locations were found in the lower reaches of the Tuloy River valley, a third was found in the lower reaches of the Tondoshka River, the fourth was registered near the Turochak village and the fifth was observed on the left bank of the Biya River near the village Verkh-Biysk. All new habitats were registered in the Turochaksky district of the Altai Republic.

Abstract:
The results of our 12-year study of a population of the rare orchid Cypripedium guttatum Sw. on the northern border of its range, on the territory of the Komi Republic (north-east of European Russia) are presented. Our research has shown that weather factors (temperature and precipitation) have an impact on the seasonal development of shoots and plant size. The number of shoots is influenced by the weather conditions of the previous growing season, namely: the temperature of the first decade of August influences positively while early autumn frosts and the amount of precipitation of the entire period do negatively. A negative correlation was found between the number of flowering shoots and the temperature of the second decade of July of the previous growing season and a positive relationship between the number of juvenile plants and the precipitation of August of the previous growing season. Fruit set was quite low (17.1%), which is typical for this species. The pollination efficiency of C. guttatum was negatively affected by the high temperature during its flowering (the second decade of June). One box contained an average of 4065 seeds. The real seed productivity per shoot varied from 1989 to 7064 pcs., it is associated with precipitation in the second decade of July of the current growing season. The high number of the population studied (25 thousand shoots), the correspondence of the ontogenetic spectrum to the basic one of the species, the annual presence of juvenile plants of seed origin indicates its stable condition.

Abstract:
The vegetation of the Bashkiria National Park is one of the basic components for studying the flora and vegetation of the Republic of Bashkortostan. Accounting and protection of such plant biodiversity is important for their conservation and study. Based on the results of geobotanical surveys in the Bashkiria National Park in the spring-summer period of 2020, 270 species of medicinal plants belonging to 61 families were identified, of which the majority in terms of the number of species are represented by the families Asteraceae, Lamiaceae, Rosaceae, Ranunculaceae, Fabaceae and Apiaceae. Despite the fact that in geomorphological terms the national park is included in the region of low-mountainous relief of the eastern region of the mountains of the Southern Urals, medicinal plants belonging to meadow and forest coenotic groups prevail in the Bashkiria National Park. The presence of previously discovered species such as Rhodiola iremelica Boriss Rhodiola Iremel, Helichrysum arenarium (L.) Moench Sandy cumin, Cypripedium guttatum Sw. spotted ladys slipper, included in the Red Book of Bashkiria. In addition, Stipa pennata L. was found feather grass included in both the Red Book of Bashkiria and the Red Book of Russia.

Abstract:
С 1992 г. за Cypripedium ventricosum (Sw.) Soo. С 2012 г. за Pogonia japonica Reichenb. в кв. 48 АЛ и Oreorchis patens (Lindl.) Lindl. Жизненный цикл Calypso bulbosa, Coeloglossum viride (L.) C. Hartm., Liparis japonica (Miq.) Pogonia japonica Reichenb. Lindl.
