Abstract:
The study aimed to select suitable plant species in constructed wetland at Formosa Ha Tinh steel company and identify proper nutrient supplements for these plants growth. The tolerance of different aquatic plant species was tested with treated wastewater. Phragmites australis (Cav.), Typha angustifolia L. and Cyperus tegetiformis were selected for vegetation. In this experiment, removal efficiencies for monitored chemical parameters were in the range of 26.5 – 91.7 %, while elimination rates of total coliform were about 50 %. In the beginning, the plant nutrient demand for the first 3 months e

Introduction: n January 1968, an Israeli submarine "Dakar" sank in the Mediterranean Sea. The Dakar’s wreckage was not found until May 1999, when it was located between the islands of Cyprus and Crete at depth more than 3,000 m by the Nauticos Corporation, the same company which found a British passenger liner "Titanic" that sank in the North Atlantic Ocean after it collided with an iceberg. The possibility to recover any existing remains of the crew members in the sunken submarine “Dakar” and to give them Jewish burial had been widely discussed in Israel. ABSTRACT In this work, we investigate the suitability of Cyprus bentonite as low-density solid additive for drilling fluids. Bentonite samples were obtained from a quarry owned by Hellenic mining company Ltd. Samples were mechanically processed to a size <63μm. The processed material was activated with Na2CO3 using (i) dry, (ii) wet, and (iii) thermal conditions. The samples were activated with different percentages of soda ash and for different curing times prior to experimentation with the aim to investigate optimum soda ash quantity and activation time. With thermal activation we inc
