Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Infections in surgical practice remain one of the most pressing challenges in modern medicine. AIM: The study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of high-intensity pulsed broadband irradiation for infected wounds in an experimental setting using cytological monitoring. METHODS: The experiment was conducted on 90 male Wistar rats using a model of infected skin wounds created with a mixed culture of Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Candida albicans. All animals were randomly divided into three groups of 30 animals each. In group 1, the wounds

In case–control study, monitoring of nasal sector cytogram and research of nasal mucous membrane bacteriocinosis disorder were conducted in 69 (1–16-old) children with allergic rhinitis. For analysis of cytogram, nasal mucous smear — print method was applied. Bacteriocinosis condition was assessed by a bacteriological method. Increase in the number of eosinophils was revealed. And in case of joining a secondary infection, increase in the specific weight of neutrophils was noted. Changes in nasal bacteriocinosis were accompanied by increase in staphylococcus seeding of mucous

Introduction. The phenomena of intolerance to structural materials often occur in patients using removable dentures made of acrylic plastics, in this regard, the problem of intolerance to structural materials does not lose its relevance. However, today, the lack of knowledge in diagnostics forces us to delve into the search for diagnostic criteria. The current level of development of dentistry determines the need to search for diagnostic criteria that can reliably identify patients with a high risk of developing intolerance to structural materials (SIM) and predict the likelihood of its occurr

We estimated the expression of proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) in HeLa S3 cells by flow cytometry with monoclonal antibody (MAb) PC10. HeLa cells were fixed with six different fixation procedures: 15-min and 30-min acetone, 15-min acetone followed by 15-min methanol (acetone/methanol), 30-min methanol, 15-min methanol followed by 15-min acetone (methanol/acetone), and a mixture of acetone and methanol. The fixed cells were applied to MAb PC10 against PCNA and then treated with FITC. With five fixation procedures except for acetone/methanol, PCNA was expressed in almost all cells with

For the local treatment of burns, numerous drugs have been proposed with a tendency to expand the range of drugs. In order to establish the effectiveness of Wundehil ointment in the treatment of superficial burns and to determine the optimal methods of its application, the results obtained in the patients with second−grade burns were analyzed. Clinical evaluation of treatment was performed on the basis of visual control of the wound process, determination of the amount and nature of exudate, the timing of epithelialization of superficial burns. Summary. The aim of the study was to improve the results of treatment of patients with diabetic foot syndrome by applying a complex method of VAC-associated therapy. After 5 days of this treatment we enhanced the local blood flow of wounds from 27-31 to 52-54 mm Hg. (p<0.01), while in the comparison group the blood flow was 29-34 mm Hg, granulation tissue in the wound developed on average 4.93±0.64 days, which was significantly faster than in the control – 9,42±0.81 (p<0,05). Contamination of the wound of the main group before treatment was 8,4±0.14 Lg CFU/g of tissue, for 5 days – 2,8±0
