Abstract:

Funkcjonowanie organizmów żywych, w tym także istot ludzkich, cechuje się rytmiką wyznaczaną przez rotacyjny ruch obrotowy Ziemi wokół własnej osi (rytmika dobowa), jak również ruch obiegowy wokół Słońca (rytmika roczna). Rytmika określa pewien porządek aktywności ludzkiej w trakcie doby oraz w trakcie roku. Szczególną rolę odgrywa wyznaczana przez Słońce rytmika dzienna, kiedy to następują po sobie kolejno pora spoczynku i czuwania aktywności). W porze aktywności ludzie organizują różne aspekty swojego życia rodzinnego i pracy zawodowej, uczą się, rozwijają zainteresowania, utrzymują kontakty międzyludzkie, relaksują się itp. Czynności, którym się poświęcają, wypełniają interwał czasowy pomiędzy wstaniem z łóżka rano a położeniem się spać wieczorem. O ile ogólna struktura aktywności mieszkańców miast jest z zasady podobna, o tyle występują tu pewne różnice determinowane przez ich płeć, wiek, stan cywilny i rodzinny, poziom wykształcenia, pory (zmiany) i specyfikę wykonywanej pracy, odległość pomiędzy miejscem zamieszkania i pracy lub nauki, obowiązki, zainteresowania, sytuację materialną itp. Aktywność różni się także w dni robocze, soboty i niedziele, różne Święta czy dni urlopowe. Niniejszy artykuł koncentruje się na dobowej aktywności mieszkańców Poznania. Kolejno omówione zostały: pora wstawania, czynności wykonywane przed opuszczeniem domu, pora opuszczenia domu, czas dotarcia do pracy i szkoły, czynności wykonywane po opuszczeniu domu a przed pracą i nauką, czas pracy i nauki, czynności wykonywane po pracy i nauce, powrót do domu, czynności wykonywane przed pójściem spać, czas spoczynku. Szczegółową analizę zamyka syntetyczne dobowe podsumowanie czasu „pomiędzy dniem a spoczynkiem” (przy uwzględnieniu pory snu).

Abstract:

Tematem tekstu jest charakterystyczne dla romantyków literackie przedstawienie doświadczenia czasu. O czasie jako problemie rozważanym przez XIX-wiecznych twórców napomyka kilkakrotnie w swojej najnowszej książce Piotr Śniedziewski. W artykule kwestię tę zaprezentowano, wykorzystując aktualną refleksję na temat doświadczenia („historical sublime experience” Franka Ankersmita) i ustalenia dotyczące wpływu gwałtowanie rozwijającej się po 1839 r. fotografii na sposób kształtowania literackiego świata przedstawionego, a także używania fotografii jak narzędzia analizy czasu („wizualnego modelu czasu”).

Abstract:

The text concerns the literary presentation of experiencing time that was characteristic of Romantics. In his latest book, Piotr Śniedziewski mentions time as a problem considered by 19th-century artists several times. The article presents this issue using the current reflection on the experience (Frank Ankersmit’s “historical sublime experience”) and the findings concerning the impact of photography that has been developing rapidly since 1839, on the way the literary represented world is shaped, as well as the use of photography as a tool of analysing time (“the visual model of time”).

Abstract:

Cracow’s Journal Czas on Croatian Territorial Claims to Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Time of the Great Eastern Crisis, 1875–1878The conservative journal Czas [Time], which appeared in Cracow, covered the course of a political, and later also military, crisis in the Balkans in 1875–1878. The conflict focused on Austria, Turkey and Serbia’s disputes over the future status of Bosnia and Herzegovina. One of the intriguing and less known aspects associated with these events were Croatian territorial aspirations in Bosnia. This demand grew stronger and stronger and was openly articulated by political and intellectual circles in Zagreb. The article aims to show how Czas, the most important Polish-language journal in this region, approached the topic of Croatian territorial claims, how these events were commented on and what parallels were found between the course of events in the Balkans and the contemporaneous situation in the Polish lands. The present review enables us to understand better the attitudes of eminent representatives of Cracow’s elite as well as the opinion of the popular strata of the local community on the issue of independence and territorial ambitions of the fellow nation of Croatia.

Abstract:

“Material catastrophe” in the memories of three women – members of the Polish aristocracy and landed gentry from the Polish Eastern BorderlandsHistory has treated cruelly the families of landed gentry and aristocracy who lived in the Polish Eastern Borderland – the eastern provinces of the Second Polish Republic (Kresy). This essay focuses on memories of women, members of the Polish aristocracy and landed gentry from the kresy, published in the following books: “We and Our Homes” (My i nasze Siedliska) by Matylda née Windisch-Graetz Sapieżyna, “Times, Places, People. Memories from the Eastern Borderlands, 1893-1946” (Czasy, miejsca, ludzie. Wspomnienia z Kresów Wschodnich 1893-1946) by Helena née Jaczynowska Rothowa, and ”My Life, My Times” (Moje życie, mój czas) by Maria née Zdziechowska Sapieżyna. Their memories are not a full historical picture including the complex political and historic context, instead they concentrate on the precise fates of their families in the kresy (though their presence there was called, not without a reason, a kind of ‘colonization’). The three authoresses present themselves as victims of great politics and changes happening beyond their control. Thus, these three (auto)biographical narrations enter the canon of literature about the eastern frontier and correspond with the canon of ‘the esthetics of loss.’ the analysis demonstrates that in all the books under consideration particular attention has been devoted to the material sphere of everyday life because the female biographers wanted to describe their world in the Kresy in detail and at the same time show how much they had lost.

Abstract:

Przedmiotem artykułu jest Modlitwa, prozatorski drobiazg w późnej twórczości Cypriana Norwida. Jedna fraza z tekstu: „pod wrażeniem Teatru wiedeńskiego” pozwala w islamsko-‑arabskim kostiumie dostrzec odniesienie fabuły oraz innych składników utworu do trzech tragicznych zdarzeń rzeczywistych, bezpośrednio poprzedzających czas jego powstania (w styczniu 1882 r.). Wydarzeniami tymi są (w kolejności chronologicznej): pożar wiedeń-skiego Ringtheater w dniu 8 grudnia 1881 r. oraz dwie tragedie warszawskie – panika w kościele Świętego Krzyża podczas mszy świętej bożonarodzeniowej 25 grudnia i częściowo związany z nią trzydniowy pogrom ludności żydowskiej 25-27 grudnia tegoż roku. Odsłonięcie sugerowanych przez Norwida kontekstów pozwala odczytywać Modlitwę jako przypowieść, która przez krytykę zeświecczenia ludzi współczesnych wskazuje im drogę ku Bogu i pełni modlitwy.

Abstract:

Mieszkańcy Ziemi zaadaptowali swoją fizjologię i behawior do 24-godzinnej doby z regularnym następstwem dnia i nocy dzięki działaniu endogennego mechanizmu molekularnego zwanego zegarem biologicznym. Zegar biologiczny jest synchronizowany z otoczeniem dzięki temu, że odbiera sygnały środowiskowe zwane dawcami czasu, z których najważniejszym jest światło. Kiedy jednak światło pojawia się w nieodpowiednim momencie, np. sztuczne światło w nocy (ALAN), jego wpływ może być szkodliwy dla organizmu, powodując zakłócenie naturalnego cyklu snu i czuwania, prowadząc także do licznych zaburzeń metabolizmu i behawioru. Informacja o warunkach świetlnych otoczenia przekazywana jest do całego organizmu za pośrednictwem nocnej syntezy i uwalniania do krwi szyszynkowego neurohormonu melatoniny. Dlatego obecność światła w niewłaściwym czasie i ilości powoduje hamowanie syntezy melatoniny i desynchronizację zegara biologicznego. Coraz więcej badań potwierdza pogląd, że zaburzenie syntezy melatoniny pod wpływem ALAN prowadzi do modyfikacji epigenetycznych i nieprawidłowej transkrypcji pewnych genów a to skutkuje zwiększoną częstością wielu chorób, np. raka czy zespołu metabolicznego.
