Abstract:
Environmental Literacy of ISCED 2 Pupils in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland and Germany Mgr. Ing. Silvie Svobodová ABSTRACT The concept of environmental literacy is based primarily on the principles of environmental education. It is a measure of environmental knowledge, attitudes, sensitivity and environmentally responsible behavior. It represents a relatively broad multidimensional construct, which can be summarized into three main dimensions (cognitive, affective and conative). This dissertation is focused on the environmental literacy of ISCED 2 pupils in the Czech Republic and selected Central European countries. The main contribution of the work lies in the construction and verification of a sophisticated authorial analytical tool for comprehensive testing of environmental literacy and its application in the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Austria and Germany. The tool is based on a range of tools established and published abroad, the applicability of which in the Czech environment has been verified, namely the Middle School Environmental Literacy Survey and 2 Major Environmental Values. The research analyzed the relationship between the dimensions of environmental literacy and the identified significant determinants that can fundamentally predict the level of environmental literacy, in the...

Abstract:
This diploma thesis concerns the analysis of data from student, teacher and school questionnaires for PISA 2015 survey conducted in the Czech Republic. The conceptual framework of PISA 2015 questionnaire survey and characteristics of previous PISA and TIMSS surveys are briefly described in the thesis. As far as the student questionnaires are concerned, we have mainly focused on teaching methods used in scientific subjects and the attitudes of Czech students to these subjects. We have also taken interest in students' feelings at school, their satisfaction with life, their school ambitions, their interests, and the use of ICT. As for the teacher questionnaires, we have particularly chosen questions focused on teaching methods used in scientific subjects, teacher education and the relationship to their profession. Furthermore, we have processed questions from the school questionnaires focused on general information about the school, size of the school, school equipment and management, teaching staff and phenomena hindering the learning of students. The obtained data are presented in graphs and tables. If a question was part of any previous PISA or TIMSS survey, we compared the development of responses throughout the surveys. To evaluate these changes in the responses, we have used statistical methods. All...

The first part is dedicated to the theoretical education of the deaf, mainly to presentation of bilingual education and its application in contemporary education in our country and abroad. Thesis discusses the Czech sign language and the differences between it and the Czech language in the context of teaching Czech as a second language for the deaf. Adequate space is devoted to deaf assistant and deaf teacher and their work in the classroom in cooperation with hearing teacher. The second notional part contains analyzed data and results interpretation of the research, which was carried out through questionnaires and participant observation in classrooms. The outputs of the research showed that from view of respondents is presence of deaf teaching staff important for many different reasons. Involvement of deaf teacher in the learning process emerged almost equal as the participation of a hearing teacher. Participation of deaf assistant depends more on the individual agreement with the hearing teacher. The pairs had divided competencies in different ways.

Historical Development of Czech Language Teaching for Pupils with Visual Impairment Klára Eliášková Czech Language Department Doc. PhDr. Martina Šmejkalová, Ph.D. Abstract The dissertation aims at the language education of pupils with visual impairment (VI) at high schools. Historical forming of Czech language didactics of teaching pupils with VI is analyzed in the framework of the cultural and social context of the period from 1807, when the first Institute for blinds was found in Prague at Hradčany, to a social and political milestone in 1989 with main view on the period dating from 1946 to present. Based on the suggestion from the report, attention will be paid to the present. There will be an identification of breakthroughs and positive locations (e.g. diversification of Czech language teaching in relation to individual types of VI), which would be useful in restoring our teaching practice, taking into account the current imperative of induced education. Historical research focuses on specific aspects of language education without a possibility of visual information. Methodological approaches common in linguistic and social pedagogical fields of study are combined in this purpose. This diploma thesis deals, in a broader sense, with classroom interaction betwen students and history teachers at secondary schools for hearing impaired in the Czech Republic. In a narrower sense, it examines a pattern of teacher's language behaviour and his/her motivation when choosing relevant language means during his/her history classes. The work consists of two parts - theoretical specialized background, and practical research. The theoretical part gives an overview of the relevant specialized terminology used in the Czech Republic and abroad, as well as a short insight into the development of classroom interaction between a student and a teacher at special schools and pays attention to the developmental linguo-didactic aspects in the Czech schools for hearing impaired. The practical part uses qualitative research as a means of a research method. I have observed and filmed history classes at three secondary schools for hearing impaired. As my research interests laid within the above mentioned research technique, I did not assess teaching methodology of the teachers. I focused mainly on the form of teacher's communication. Apart from class observation and filming, I also carried out an after-class interview with each teacher about his/her motivation for the choice of language behaviour. Special...

The work gives a comprehensive overview of the education of students with severe visual impairment, focusing on teaching language education. Currently, more and more advancing the concept of integration / inclusion of pupils with special educational needs in mainstream education are the teachers in mainstream schools subject to requirements that the process of integration / inclusion of these pupils were able to cope. It is therefore necessary that the teachers have to orientate in this field, and especially to know who can work with, who to turn to. To create a homogeneous group within the class is very appropriate for the pupil with severe visual impairments to participate in any activities with their peers, under which, inter alia, the work also comes with teaching aids. To support such a common activity, I made a technical cooperation tactile teaching materials focusing on language education. You can also use the intact classmates in the classroom, which could eliminate the differentiation of students "without " and "with" special educational needs as much as possible.

Abstract:
The thesis is devoted to the issue of non-professional first aid provision. Everyone should have knowledge of first aid procedures, because in the Czech Republic there is a statutory duty to provide first aid. It is therefore necessary to start training as soon as possible, already in school-aged children. The thesis is focused on pupils of 8th grade of primary schools in České Budějovice and their knowledge of first aid. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part basic information on first aid is given. News and changes brought about by global directive in resuscitation Guidelines 2005. It also gives and account of individual diseases with brief descriptions, causes and emergency procedures. The last two chapters are focused on the Red Cross activities and first aid training in schools. The practical part examines the attitude of pupils to first-aid provision and their first aid knowledge. In this section, the following two objectives and hypotheses were stated: The first objective is to determine the pupils´ interest to get involved in first aid training. The other objective is to monitor the first aid knowledge and skills of primary school pupils before and after the training implementation. Hypothesis 1 assumes that primary school pupils are interested in obtaining information relating to first aid. The second hypothesis determines if the pupils´ awareness got improved after the training. To meet the goals of the thesis quantitative research was used. To pupils interested in the issue, professional instruction in first aid, led by a worker of the Red Cross in České Budějovice, was provided. Based on the pre and post test, a questionnaire survey was carried out when the pupils responded in writing to questions in two questionnaires. The first questionnaire contained 19 and the second 21 questions. Total 122 questionnaires were distributed. The goals of the thesis were met and after the questionnaires evaluation, both my hypothesis were confirmed. The research has shown the pupils' interest in the issue and a better understanding after the training. In order to improve basic first aid knowledge in primary school pupils it would certainly be beneficial to put emphasis on first aid training in schools.

Abstract:
This dissertation deals with the problematics of the research of the educative media content, using mainly the data we gathered during surveys carried out between 2003 and 2011. The paper handles several theoretical and methodological aspects of the relationship between media and education, namely the role of educative media in education as such. In the theoretical part we focus mainly on the interdisciplinarity of the subject, i.e. the differences in the media studies and other social sciences perspectives. After a description of the necessary theoretical/methodological framework, an outline of a classification system of educative programmes is proposed that could be useful both in pedagogical and media practise. In the next part of the paper we discuss the current state of the czech public service media education area. The second chapter itself consists of selected researches results carried out in the area of education programmes and contents, some of which the author of this paper collaborated on. The survey choice consisted of questionnaire and enquiry surveys focusing on the relationship of structured media audiences (students and teachers) towards educative programmes. Reading Literacy of Roma Pupils Thesis - Kateřina Šormová Abstract This work is a contribution to Roma pupils' literacy research. The importance of literacy for an individual today is absolutely crucial; applied research suggests that people with advanced literacy skills are more likely to have a higher self-esteem, improved health, more satisfying jobs and higher income compared to those with low literacy skills. Persons who are at greater risk of reduced literacy level are those from different cultural backgrounds, unemployed and unskilled people, those with very low level of education and people living in social exclusion. Roma pupils (very often) belong to such groups of people, therefore it is necessary to set up measures to eliminate these risks. The need to develop language competence of Roma pupils in the Czech language, including reading comprehension ability, is also included in the Roma Integration Strategy by 2020. This thesis examines whether and how the reading literacy test results of Roma and non- Roma pupils differ, and describes factors of home and school environment that influence the Roma pupils' literacy development. Based on these research questions hypotheses were set. Our research of Roma pupils' literacy was conducted in 4th and 5th grades of primary schools in socially excluded...
